UltraScatter2 - Now in store!

Sorry to bump this with bad news, but Ultra Scatter 2 seems to crash DS when loading Victoria 4.2. The figure appears to load OK, then the application crashes after a few moments. I tried a few other Poser-format items, props and figures, without issue - Victoria 4 is going through Power Loader, I don't know if that might be an issue (perhaps relating to the ability to load new morphs in place). Edit: disabling Power Loader and the V4.2 .dsb loader script didn't help.
Are you saying that just having UltraScatter2 plugin installed causes the crash when loading Victoria 4.2? Would disabling the plugin while using Victoria 4.2 be a workaround?

Victoria 4 crashes Daz StudioI just loaded Victoria 4.2 into Daz Studio 4.24.0.3 Public Build with no problems.
Victoria 4 crashes Daz StudioI only load Victoria 4 seldomly. Might be a good while since last.
But I wanted to try something and loaded her. And either when she was almost loaded or up to 5-10 seconds after loading (visible in viewport), Daz Studio crsahed to a crash window.
I tried to reinstall Victoria 4.2 Base, but that didn't change anything.
The DS log just showed a normal load.
And the crash happended in both latest 4.24 and latest 4.24 public build.
Looking at the cload log (from the crash report), there was a number of "Could not adjust thumbnail path from support path: /Runtime/Support/DAZ_3D_" but my guess is it is because I don't log into Daz Studio.
It is not an emergency to be able to load V4, but I wonder if it could be something worse.
Anyone who has any suggestions, or should I just make a ticket?
Show us your Daz AI Studio ImagesThese are wonderful! Here are some good ones I did back in May. I lost some files on a different hard drive after formatting C:, so I don't have the prompts any more. So sad your partner got greedy and stopped providing the AI. Could you consider putting an AI on your local machine and training it on your data? There are plenty on GitHub and I've downloaded several. AI tells me how and writes code, but my higher-end machine isn't enough to run an image generator yet, though there is a version of Stable Diffusion that connects online with daily tokens. I've been having AI write code for me because I never learned programming except Access 2003, and I've been away from that for quite a few years. It writes Python or Javascript and I test. So far I've had good results with trying to embed many science fiction story metadata in ChromaDB, a vector database. I started with AnythingLLM which requires no code and is great for beginners. Now, I'm trying to learn LangChain. Fun stuff!
Anyone know of an AI project like DAZ that gets permission to train on its artwork? Right now I'm in GIMP massively altering some cartoons I generated with CoPilot in my drawing style, so I won't infringe on the poor artist's rights before I make my video for YouTube.
Meanwhile, I found these in Amazon Photos so the quality isn't as good as original. Hope you enjoy them. BTW, you can't copyright AI-generated art if you don't alter it, so have fun with these. They are public domain [US Copyright Law]. Enjoy!
Series 1 I tried to get the girl pulling a full hand truck up the stairs but got these. The picture I Frankensteined together in GIMP from old photos and the file boxes in the last one is on this blog post https://www.tumblr.com/danniswrites/775584343217373184/deadly-job-136-file-boxes-by-myself?source=share I do love the stair pictures I got! And Victoria is awesome, if only the AI knew what a hand truck looks like. It's hard to find pictures on the Web, too, because they come in many different kinds. Sorry to send you to my blog but I can't find the final photo.
Series 2 is Victoria and Michael in a train station. These came out great!
* CLOSED* RRRR - Unusual Laws / Refused Sports - Render ContestWelcome to yet another round of RRRR. This time we're having a theme, and the theme is Unusual Laws / Refused Sports. This time too we have two parallell themes, you can render one3, the other or both in your entry,
RRRR stands for Random Runtime Roulette Renders, and it's a contest that has been running for over twelve years now, on and off. We invite anyone to enter, specially all those new users who have shown up the past years. This is not the usual make a very nice render contest but more like tell a really great story, often fun, with your render!
How does it work?
Make your pull of 4 items, and if your any Lucky Bastards, you pull one extra item per LB.Who can play?
Anyone can play! How do you prepare yourself for play?
The rules are very simple, but first you need to have all your items in some kind of order in a text file, dumped from the itemized history into a text file or a spread sheet. Remove things like software, gift certs, and special plugins from the list and items that wil not work with the software you work with. For example if you have items for Poser, Bryce or Carrara, and want to use DAZ Studio, remove those other items from your list. If you have loads of older figures, M3, M4, a ton of non Iray stuff and you only want to use Studio with Iray, remove all the junk from you list. Then you use a randomizer to randomly pick items from your list (your Runtime/My Library) for your start pull . You can use items from any store. Now build a scene with those 4 items plus any other items you want to add to make a fun scene. For newcomers I heartly recommend looking at the previous contests below to get ideas how you can do this.
Working randomizer:: https://www.random.org/integers
There are some situations where you allowed to redraw, these are:
- You pulled something that doesn’t work, broken thing, only works in a version / software not used etc etc, or you forgot to remove that item from you list even though you knew it wont work, or figure that out later.
- You pulled a software or add-on to a software or anything you should have filtered out from the list.
- You pulled only huge environment props and will not be able to render a scene without crashing.
- You pulled an item you already have been using in two RRRR renders in this content and that was picked randomly. Three is a curse - rule!Lucky Bastard Rule!
I say this again: If you have Lucky Bastards, you pull one extra item for each LB you have, simple as that.
Explaination of Lucky Bastards.
Lucky Bastards, or LBs, are a form of handicap system which makes the contest a little more difficult for those who have won.Current Lucky Bastards Standings
Name LBs luci45
1 acb
2 Totte
3 katywhite
1 Rafael
1 How to play?
You pull, you compose and you Render. You post your images and pulls in this thread (Don't miss that, entries without pulls and posts in this thread will be disqualified!!).
Then the entry should also be posted in the Entries only threadBundles
If you pull a bundle, use two or three complete items from it, or more if you like, but you do not need to use all, but only picking a hairpin from Victoria 8 Pro Bundle is “too little”. Clarification: A bundle still counts as only one pulled item.Poses, Expressions and textures/colors
If you pull a pose pack, an expression pack or a texture/color pack, you only need to use one of them, not all. For example if you pull 500 expressions for Genesis 8 Female, use one, if you pull 128 colors for Frappe Hair, use one.
Accidenty breaking the TOS
If your entry is removed by the forum mods because it accidentally, not deliberate, broke the TOS, you do not have to redo that entry but can move on and make a new pull. The rules of madness!
Now you have successfully and randomly picked your items, make a scene, you can add other items as well but the one you picked should be prominent or cleverly used. Render it, post it and make us all laugh! Remember though that the renders must follow the TOS of the forum. As we have a theme on the contest, the render should in some way touch that theme. The contest categories!
There are two categories Best and Funniest. Every image will compete in both categories.Contest duration!
It starts now at Friday July 25 - 2025, and will go on until Sunday September 28, 2025 at 23:59:59 local DAZ time. This months sponsors so far:
Totte (Code 66) is sponsoring with two items from his store
Elliandra is sponsoring with two items from her store
3Diva is sponsoring with two items from thier store
Dartanbeck is sponsoring with items from his storeWe want more sponsors!
Do you want to sponsor the RRRR?
Please chip in a gift card sponsorship, sponsors can play, they should play, they are even extra encouraged to play, as sponsors always plays for keeps.Maximum number of entries?
For this round it will be a maximum of 12 entries per player. So, good luck and start your render engines!

How much extra memory space in a full HD character versus one you have to add the HD to. .
Nothing meaningful on disk. SD morphs are so small compared to HD morphs that it basically doesn't matter if a character's shape is split into SD and HD rather than just one HD morph: Victoria 9's SD head and body morphs add up to 1.5 MB. Her Lvl4 HD head and body morphs are 165 MB between them.
If her SD morphs were actually compressed (they're not), they would be even less than that. (In theory, you should expect a ratio of about 1 to 256, as each level of HD contains 4 times more information than the last)
As a general rule, on disk, a character's SD morphs are irrelevant compared to their textures and HD morphs, although which of those comes out on top can vary depending on the resolution of each and the number of texture options. In this case, the entirety of V9's SD morphs (including all her correctives) are about 4.5 MB, her textures are about 80 MB and her full HD morphs are 171 MB (including nipples and a couple of thigh correctives).
At render time? No difference whatsoever; the morphs themselves are not passed to Iray, only the final merged figure shape is, and the morphs don't change the amount of geometry, so it doesn't matter how many were used to make it.

Ok. Understood. You sell what sells. I also did not make it clear in my last post that I do understand the HD "details" do not really show up unless you do a close up of that body part, but it was part of the why Genesis 9 is so great so I was just wondering if they ever made comment about the separation or they just went back to the Genesis 8 plus HD product marketing without comment but kept the higher prices.
Madison is very nice, but I can easily create that shape with existing morphs. So to me the question is more do I really want the new texture.
It's very true the HD closeups are one of the selling points of Genesis 9, but now you don't really get it baseline unless you get the HD Addon. Like I said in my previous post, they used to do that, and now it's an obvious cash grab.
Edited for your added comment:

Her skin looks like Lyna's or Lianna's, but if you don't really care about freckles and you have either of those, I would say pass.If you mean these characters then I don't see the freckles, but then again I do had a lot of white-out on my screen.

Ah, I meant Lauryn 9. Spelled non traditionally. She comes with freckle options, but Lianna and Lyna do not. Madison does, if you like that. I think they look good on her. However, they're really just on her face, and not all over, like Lauryn, and not as clustered.

I was wondering why some characters have detail enable, specular occlusion, makeup, ect available while others don't. For example, the base 8.1F figure doesn't have any of those options while Victoria 8.1 does.
Is there any way to have those options availabe for any 8.1 character? Those maps aren't intrinsic to G8.1, but are part of the PBRSkin shader that was introduced alongside 8.1. Only characters that come with PBRSkin material presets will include those maps, but you can also borrow those maps from characters that do have them for characters that don't. To apply PBRSkin to a character with Iray Uber shaders, simply select the figure, go to the Surfaces pane and select the surfaces you want to change* and apply the shader, which is located in Default Resources.
*I'd recommend Skin, maybe Skin/Lips/Nails, but I don't know if there's any benefit to having PBRSkin on the eyes, and since PBRSkin doesn't have opacity (unless you also own PBRSkin+), you definitely don't want it on the Cornea and EyeMoisture surfaces.

- the top could work in any period from maybe 1930s to 1960s, it looks just like a well-tailored, more formal kind of top, could even be a jacket if you don’t show the short sleeves
Export to Blender has odd shoulders (Genesis 8.1]I'm new to Daz and experimenting with characters. I loaded Victoria 8.1 (color pic) and then immediately used Send to Blender, and then when imported with bridge the model looks different (gray pic). Any pointers what might be wrong?
How to convert Maddelirium products to Daz StudioI wish Legacy UVs for Genesis 8: Victoria 4 was on sale. I spend way too much to be retired !
Taoz! Thank you!! You have 89 Characters!!! How wonderful!!!
I love this thread you mentioned. I love Madderlium stuff so much!!
Is the character in the main promo render Victoria 9?Elor said:
Maybe it's her morph, but I think the skin, brows and ears are from someone else (no idea who): Victoria 9 is in the fifth render, with her skin and brows (there is also Mira 9 in other renders).
Thanks, that's what I thought too (that the morph shape is Victoria 9). I've love to know the skin texture set that 1st couple of renders was taken from.

Guys, thank you for all of your replies!!
What awesome information!
I love Maddelirium products! I have 25 of them!! I am so glad she is here at Daz3D now.
I just tested a couple of V4 products in Daz Studio. One I tested was Mystique, which did turn out pretty good. I attached a comparison. I let each on render a second, but tells a lot!!
I want MDD Pearl for G8F IRAY Only | Daz 3D. She looks like Freddy Mercury! So cute!!
Havos That is facinating! I didn't know you could use morphs and textures on G8F that are for V4. I can do that with G2F with V4 Skins Auto Converter for Genesis 2 Female(s) | Daz 3D and Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Female(s) | Daz 3D.
I don't have MDD Kelsey!! I love her! What tools did you use?
Thank you all for helping me!!
I also used Generation X to get the morphs from V4 to G3F, and then X-Transfer to move the G3F morphs to G8F.
To get the V4 textures to G3F UV (which will work on G3 or G8) I used Blacksmith 3D's Texture Transformer, which does a really good job. That is a tool that was once on sale here, then moved to Renderosity, but unfortunately is not available anywhere now. I think the company that sold it has since disbanded, which is a shame as it is the only tool that does this job easily. The only alternative is to use a texture baker like available in Blender, as mentioned above. I can't say anything about that, as I have never used it.
The other alternative is this: https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-victoria-4, with which you can use the V4 skins directly on G8F without converting them to G3 UV.
