[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male (Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]
transferred morph applied to base loaded Genesis 8 male, see the eyes.
Mine converted ok :( Will probably use a different set of eye textures tho.

Thanks for sharing Laurie!
Diego 8Jepe's character is great. The fibermesh hair options is the kind of thing a new DO male character should come with out of the box. His morph looks like a unique character. Daz should just commission Jepe to design all their male original figures.[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male (Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]Okay, finally. I have included only the logs pertaining to Darius.
Thanks for your patience
Thank you for posting it. Nothing is jumping out at me. I am wondering if there are other morphs interfering with your conversion. If you load the default, generic, G8M, are there any morphs being currently used? When you load the Darius G8M, what morphs are currently used? If you slide the Darius Head slider to 0, does it look like G8M?
Hi, please see attached files. There are no morph currently used other than what is showed in the images. When I slide th Dariush Head slider to zero, it looks somewhat little the G8M, please see attached file for example.
Ok, when I slide my Darius 7 Head to 0, I see the same thing so it is definitely the head morph. I am a little concerned as your character slider is named "Darius 7.duf". It should be "Darius 7" so something went a little wrong during conversion. Can you delete the Darius 7 morphs OUTSIDE of DS? They should be in data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Male/Morphs/-Yannek-,DAZ Originals,Heysun Oh/Darius 7. There should be 3 .dsf files. Please delete them, restart DS, and try again. If that doesn't work, please PM me. I apologize for the difficulty you are having.
Diego 8I like a couple of the outfits, none of the extra characters in the bundle and the hair in the bundle is....meh. The one is...well, I don't like it. The other looks a bit like the hair that came in Sanjay's bundle. The stuff I really like isn't part of the bundle, but I'm gonna have to buy the bundle to keep the prices in my cart from getting ridiculous. I'm really getting tired of buying stuff I don't want to get stuff that I do. Daz, please consider build-your-own bundles in the future. It would really help a lot and I'd probably buy just as much if not more if I could do that.
Anyway, I do like the base figure and most of the morphs in P3D's morph pack. Two of those look more Central American latino than any of the extra characters on offer today (including Diego himself), which is what I was hoping for.
On a side note...I don't think I've EVER gotten so many coupons at one time here...right now my brain is just too tired to process them all. Have to sleep on it ;)
Laurie
For the first time in my own Daz history I have decided not to buy a male pro bundle.I usually always try to support the 'male' character and clothing lines, but nothing about this character appeals to me in the slightest, with an exception of a few of the add-on characters. I'm really not getting the whole latino/spanish vibe with him. It's almost as if he's just a skin tone in a matador outfit. Daz nailed it with Sanjay, but Diego I find kind of lacking overall, but hey, you can't please all of the people all of the time. I think the Pro Bundle is very poor so I just picked up the hair and the cowboy outfit. I did love all the coupons, though. Totally agree with Laurie that there should be a build-your-own pro bundle feature, if not for the masses, then as a perk for those who usually receive loyalty coupons.
Diego 8Glad that I didn't get any purple coupons, 'cause I wouldn't buy this one with or without them anyway. Again not really much in the pro pack that tickles my fancy...
Like AllenArt I don't see much central/south american in Diego without the two morph packs, which probably would make even Michael 8 look south american ^^
And although the "$ 100 worth of items for free" sounds nice, for me it's only about 1 or two items from each category, as more would go over the $ 20.- limit and I'd have to drop some more money into the deal to get more. And considering that the items are at their base price, I'd rather wait for some bargain sale instead to get them for about as much, as this pro pack special would cost me.

I also ran into not wanting the entire pro bundle, and even with the Diego coupon, the total of pro bundle and four addons was way above my budget for this month, so I've wishlisted the items I want and will pick them up eventually.
Also, is that free items offer 20$ of items free in total or per category? It seems to be in total, since I added a second item from another category to test and they were no longer free but their added price over $20 (not that I have items wishlisted in more than one category anyway).
So, the freebie coupons were nice, but I'll pass on Diego for now. There's always another sale...

GoZ to Daz3D crashes due to missing files?Hi to everyone, i'm trying some morphing on genesis 8 male by using ZBrush 2018-2019 (windows 7), when from Daz studio i send to Zbrush with GOZ, it open Zbrush but this always crashes.
I tried to reinstall GOZ (windows 64), reinstalled DAZ3D 4.11, reinstalled Zbrush, but it always crashes. I checked for a while on Daz Forum discussions, but i didn't find any useful suggestion. I posted my problem in "New Users" forum category, but nobody gave me suggestions. After this i tried to make morphs with "Morph Loader Pro" inside Daz studio and Zbrush, everything works fine if i use base figure Genesis 8, but with a different character the morphing came out deformed as you can see in pictures.
image 1: Genesis 8 Male
image 2: Genesis 8 Male with morphing process made in Zbrush
image 3: Character before Morph Loader
image 4: Character before Morph Loader 2nd step
image 5: Character base resolution imported in Zbrush
image 6: Character higher resolution improved in Zbrush
image 7: Morphing on character, only ears
image 8: Restore base resolution on morphed character
image 9: Character imported in Daz Studio with morphing slider
image 10: Character morphing incorrect, it increase a lot the character dimensions and deform all the face, not only ears.
Someone have suggestions please? Thanks.[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male (Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]transferred morph applied to base loaded Genesis 8 male, see the eyes.

Crater Miners On Sale Now [Commercial]I scaled up the figure like 200% here maybe more... and lowered the crater with the morph. As I think about it more the original figure is more like mid thigh tall on this guy in the shot.
My phone will not charge complaint thread...which is why your religiously-scheduled backups probably saved the day, yes?
Yes?
Yes?
It wiped the old laptop I don't use for anything, other than watching Youtube influencers open collectibles, and hunting for non-copyrightly uploaded episodes of TV-shows. But yeah, everything's on backup, and nothing was lost.
Gold star for you! Really, truly; well done!
my attempts to fit male clothing onto female models has failed. i guess it is for the best. i can't find any male models i like and i'm too broke to start collecting assets for them.
i'll have to just use my androgynous morph and try to pretend the clothes i have look masculine enough... yup...
odd question: do male models have hairy legs and arms?
they do.
they wax their eyebrows into shape.
this seems like fairly normal maintenance. i mean, some thread, some pluck... err... wait, or do guys not manage their eyebrows like normal people?
i've not lived with a guy in quite a while.
also... i've gone through the store so many times trying to find a dude to buy but the female models, clothes, hair, sets, and other things all distract me.
also also... i kind of wanted to log onto eso or gw2 this weekend but i've been rendering stuff.
also also also... i meant to write this weekend as well but i've gotten distracted by being aggitated.
also also also also... i should have applied for more jobs this weekend but again... aggitated.
Work the 5 days on finding work, rather than the 2 days. You'll improve your odds of success by 150% and then you can take the 2 days off with a clear conscience when nobody's gonna answer their mail anyway.
complaint are there no actual pictures of saturn's rings? we were pretty close a few weeks ago.
all ise finding are artists renditions of the rings.
i don't want to base my artist rendition of rings based on someone else's artist rendition.
want the chimichanga!
i put apples outside for the bunnies. tee hee has big bite chunks missing. they quiet wabbits don't hear them snacking.
This one any good, its from Cassini I kida borrowed the pic from the NASA website.

Now going back there to carry on exploring the rest of the solar system.

ever notice that the solar system is mostly empty? the really ought to add more attractions.

Sooo....the solar system is just like my head then.....

On a percentage basis, the solar system is emptier than your head. So no matter how bad of a day you're having, you can still rest easy knowing that it can't be worse!
starting to think i been cheated by life ...
is this supposed to be the way it should'a been ?

Be careful doing that. Some people have actually ruptured a disk doing this. Or a vein. Ballroom dancing is far safer. And hotter!
I had a dream last night that I found the Daz manual somewhere.
Okay, please tell me your backups ran as they were supposed to and you have it.
Ironman.i could've lived the rest of my life without seeing the last avengers movie.
Hollywood ruins everything if you let them keep something long enough. Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Friends. X Files. Harry Potter (the last three). Batman Begins, Returns, Runs away and hides, then tries to kill Superman. Avatar:The Last Airbender (the movie). Ghost Busters. The Mask 2. And the MCU. And don't get me started on the lame James Bond flick with the house in the highlands.
It's the way of things. But there are people making interesting Star Trek short stories in their kitchens with blue-screens. More of that please! They may not have grandiose budgets for special effects, but I think they're telling more interesting stories than Hollywood is. I mean really, Spongebob...in a movie?
i really need to hurry up and win the lottery...
Don't jump the line. Wait your turn!

but i'm pooooorrrr... and i need assets... and i need a faster computer... and i need a nice house... for me... not just my models. WAAAAAHHHHHH
...I need to pay down some past due bills. The faster computer can wait.
Stay out of debt!

Rhiannon about a Welsh witch?
used to think it was about a cat
You didn't know that? It's been about the gypsy Welsh witch since Stevie Nicks first donned a shawl and way before Lindsey Buckingham ever wore a pajama top in a live concert!
Pro Tip: There's a great Fleetwood Mac concert "The Dance" available on Amazon Prime. The album is very good (and has better audio quality), but the concert video is also out there and was a lot of fun to watch, even though it's old and the video quality isn't really the best.
complaint - can't find the question i posted on that expressions product.
asked for what it looked like on g8f base. You can find all your posts and threads here:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/profile/comments/
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/profile/discussions/yeah, but with over 30,000 posts she is still going to have trouble finding a particular post. It is not really a user friendly data base if you have that number of posts. It is in date order and that is the only way you can search. newest posts are at the top,
I doubt that is the database's fault. It goes to the programmer(s) who wrote the code for the forum. It's easy enough to add an index to a column in a database, then querying on that column's data is fast. Even on large text columns, like the one that holds the body of the posts. There a thing called Full Text Index. At least, in a good database. 30K records is not a large database. 30 million records, yes.
Dana
Database indexes make READS faster, but they can greatly slow down updates and deletes, particularly when there are a lot of columns in the index or if there are a lot of indexes on a lot of tables that are related to each other. That's because an update must update the data rows as well as all the related rows/columns in all of the indexes. A delete will have the effect of deleting not only the rows in the base table, but also any matching rows in each of the indexes. Both updates and deletes are logged so that a failure can be rolled back. All of this can take a lot more time.
In some DBMSs, the indexes are separate from the data. In others, the indexes reside in the same physical file(s) as the base tables. There's a think called a "clustering index" that uses the same columns (not a copy of the columns) from the data table that they map. A clustering index is always in the same order as the data table upon which it is based.

How much would you pay for a DAZ Studio Render? One thing to also consider. You say they have a model, is it a DAZ model? if so, they cannot share the actual model with you or anyone else, only a preset that will load the morphs into the figure you have purchased (assuming you have the same morph packages installed)
if they are using the renders as a commercial project, I would charge more than if it was say fan art since they plan on making money off ot it and you are doing most of the work.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male (Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]Ok, that is encouraging. We are getting close. You are right that it sounds like they are part of the CTRL property. I am wondering if the Fitness Details, etc are from the first time you converted? Were they at 0 or not exactly? The script considers anything not equal to 0 to being used. Let's try again. I would delete the morphs and control property. They will be in data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Male/Morphs/VENDOR/PRODUCT under the first directory listed in your Content Directory Manager (F2, Content Tab, Content Directory Manager button, and then in the window that appears, Content Sets->Daz Studio Formats). You will know they are gone if you restart DS and load a G8M and the morphs and CTRL property are not listed.
I've gone ahead and deleted the morphs as indicated, and there is no longer a dial for them associated with G8M. All of the mystery dials that spawned into earlier reloaded G8M converted figures were set at full 0 in the G3M source, I manually typed the value just to be sure after the first misadventure. The only morphs listed under the Currently Used section of my G3M source were the facial morphs that also displayed in a freshly converted G8M figure.
...
Happy news, deleting the old version seems to have fixed whatever the problem was! I've closed and reopened the latest conversion several times and things seem to be behaving themselves. I still don't know why those morphs went all screwy in the first place, since everything was set to a full 0 value in the source and the problems only cropped up when the file was cycled through the program. But hey, I'll take it, and just make sure to manually delete any further failed attempts before trying again.
Thanks so much for all the help! When it works, it really works well! Definitely worth the purchase, I'll go ahead and start running through my character library. Very excited to get everyone brought up to the latest and greatest now that things are running smoothly.

(Re: your suggestion based on the pictures I showed another user, I went to check the body dial issue but a search for the character's name is just turning up a complete character dial, not separate body and head dials. Maybe it's because the only morphs that should have loaded were head morphs, so if things went right there should have been no body data to transfer over? Either way, it looks like things are loading properly and all the previous attempts that saved out with the deformed figures are now reading the newest, intact morph and displaying properly.)
That's fantastic! I am glad that cleared up the problem. Don't hesitate to post any questions (or post pics of your conversions!
)(Re: Yeah, I was thinking of the main script which usually has a head, body, and character. For the Convert Scene Character script, you would need to show "Currently used". Dial the Character slider to 0, and then try all the other sliders one at a time to find the problem morph.)

virtual nickel 4 yor carrara thoughts: the next levelCorrect way to install your G8F for Carrara character?
For some reason, blended items are nt morphing with your G8F character in my setup. I saved the blended items as support assets so I know its not that. The items morph correctly with G8F in Daz Studio.
Could you explain what the file folder structure should be? I have a new fantasy / scifi freebie in the works to go with the barbarian dude G8M. Working on the top. Here is the current top WIP in Studio morphed to V8.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male (Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]I bought this immediately, but things aren't going well. I saved a G3M character that I created as a character preset, and tried to convert it using the standard Character Converter script. It "converted," but does nothing except delete the default G8M material settings, leaving me with an unmorphed blank G8M. The original G3M preset applies just fine to G3M figures.
I assume it's my fault somewhere along the line and decide to try using the Convert Scene Character script instead with the intent of saving a subscene after. Both figures loaded nude, without hair/clothing/gens, in their respective zero poses, at origin. This works great, the G8M version of my characer is perfect, he poses beautifully, right up until I have to close and reopen the file. Then it turns into an absolute nightmare. The face turns out fine, but the body is a mess. Pretty much nothing ends up where/how it's supposed to be, even in the A-pose. It's not pretty, and posing the character just makes it worse.
So, in order for things to work, I have to convert the character (but only between characters in scene because the regular script doesn't work on the files I'm trying to use), tweak the character as needed, dress and pose the character, add everything else in the scene, and render the entire thing without ever closing Studio, or having it crash (ha ha ha), or deciding after the fact that I want to change something, every single time because things go haywire as soon as the program tries to load a scene with a converted G8M. It's one shot and done, I have to restart from zero.
Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated. The potential is amazing and I want to love it, but it's just not working for me and I can't figure out what's gone wrong.
Left side of the attachment is the character right out of the Scene Conversion script plus textures, the right side is what happens after I close the scene and then open it again. Modesty pants added after the fact.
The one on the right has a little more sculptured body.
I wish that were the problem. The shoulders and arms are an absolute wreck, and even the legs aren't quite right. If it were just a little more defined that would be fine, but the whole area has shifted out of place (note how the collarbones, the shoulders, everything is distorted, too low down and not remotely anatomically accurate anymore). It's almost like the flesh doesn't adhere to the bone. It twists and warps when the body is positioned. There's also the matter of the problem only manifesting after the scene has been closed and then re-opened.
Here are some screenshots of what happens when I pose things, with the converted character on the right and a blank G8M on the left showing what the pose is supposed to look like. The bodies should be identical because while I had head morphs dialed in, I had no body morphs dialed in. The body should look exactly like the blank G8M body on the left, just with a head morph applied.
No, something has loaded wrong. There should be 3 sliders for your character: body, head, and complete character (e.g., if your character name is Mark, you would have 3 sliders: "Mark Head", "Mark Body", and "Mark). If you dial to 0 the complete character slider and then dial up the body (e.g., "Mark Body"), does it have the distortion? If not, it is some other slider being dialed up by the complete character slider. I recommend looking at "Currently Used", seeing what the complete character dials up and down and then trying each one of those individually.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male (Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]Yeah, no, that is not the way you want to use this
Lef's see what is happening. If you check which morphs are being "currently used" after the conversion, and after you load it again, what has changed? How are you saving after the conversion?
I went ahead and did another conversion, and the "currently used" list contains the G3M face morph and an assortment of other tweaking morphs for the features that I decided I wanted after creating it. There are no body morphs.
After loading the scene again, those morphs are all still present, but for some reason three body morphs have also shown up: Fitness Details, Fitness Size, and Lithe. These were originally part of the shaping I wanted my character to have, but I set all of them to zero in my original G3M figure after the first deformation just in case having body morphs was causing a problem, figuring I'd just recreate the effect on G8M. So, none of them should be present.
I did eventually find a dial for the character under the Parameters tab that looks like it was created using one of the scripts (I was looking in the wrong place, apparently, I'm still relatively new to Studio and nothing ends up where I expect it to be), and the deformations are baked into it. When the dial is set to 100, the character's face and the body deformations are both present. When set to 0, the default G8M face and shape return, and the deformations go away.
I've tried saving as a scene, a subscene after adding textures and so on, and as a character preset (which didn't do anything). Unfortunately, because the dial has the issues baked into it, there's no method of saving that doesn't also carry those along for the ride.
Ok, that is encouraging. We are getting close. You are right that it sounds like they are part of the CTRL property. I am wondering if the Fitness Details, etc are from the first time you converted?
