A bit of an issue with eyes using Face Transfer
Face Transfer also creates dark and murky iris texture maps:

I guess it largely depends on the photo, as you're not going to get good lighting on the eyes anyway in most cases. I would suggest throwing them out and using your own.It be awesome if FT could detect a person's eye color and substitute its own pre-made HD eyeball maps with 100% clarity, but that's wishful thinking.

Teen Raven thoughts...Raven's mouth is a bit narrow and i had to finagle the teeth/mouth a bit for Summer's morph.
I don't use the daz smiles so much after I discovered the "Unique smiles" https://www.daz3d.com/20-unique-smiles-hd-for-genesis-8-females I seldom use any of them fully, but often little here and there. What i love about those smiles is that they have nearly all the smile types, you know what I mean? Toothy smiles, chin smiles, cheeky smiles, shy smiles, crooked smile, i'm-just-smiling-because-you-told-me-to smiles, is-there-something-in-my-teeth smiles.... :) It's a good to for smiles. There's one for guys too, really good stuff https://www.daz3d.com/20-unique-smiles-hd-for-genesis-8-males-
Yes, I love the unique smiles product! No matter what I did, I couldn't make Alinah look good with any smile so she and Raven will always be sad girls lol. I haen't tried the other characters based on Raven yet. Alinah's mouth actually seems huge so I made it a bit smaller once I gave up giving her any expression beyond sad or neutral... Now I'm wondering how well Raven will mix with other characters, considering her mouth issues...
How to change cornea size/radius in Daz Studio? (Genesis 8)If anyone else comes across this issue, the only way I could figure out how to solve it was to export the figure into a 3d program and isolate the cornea vertices and increases the diameter and then bring that back into daz as a custom morph.

What happened to this product? Too many returns? I was going to buy it.

Ivan 7 Veins HD - 100%
Some of the character morphs will dial in the base shape that they depend on such as M7 and Ryan 7. So you will see those show up when you dial in the others. The girls shape is a custom mix of of 19 different characters plus additional morph packs. Like all my custom girls, I do not share their formulas. Her skin though is Sage for G3F - https://www.daz3d.com/sage-for-genesis-3-female
Nylon Pantyhose for Genesis 8 Female (Commercial)Is this a kind of Second Skin texture, a geometry shell or actual mesh?
I would imagine that it's the along the lines of the PAs Nylon Stockings set in the store.
Looking forward to this!
Still can't tell whether this is a second skin or a geo-shell or a separate mesh. The disadvantage of the mesh is that I have never seen a perfect fit - they tend to show a gap to the skin or poke through but rarely fit precisely. The disadvantage of the second-skin texture is that they are just that: textures. No ability to morph them, roll them down or stretch them in any manner.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 12Last Review for a while:
Ezra at Mallard Pond
Well I did this render for one reason & one reason only. I wanted to see how The Harpwood Trail - Mallard Pond in autumn season would look so I'll get on with the review.
The Harpwood Trail - Mallard Pond is very pretty. You can see it is in the render. It's pretty in summer and autumn season versons. However, the autumn season version does suffer from one problem I think. I think the grass is much too green, growing, and lush in appearance for autumn season but otherwise no complaints about this product at all. Despite the lush foliage I had no trouble rendering it although it takes a very long time even in DAZ Studio 4.12+ because of all the translucency/opacity maps involving leaves & water. The product gets a Grade A. It would have been an A+ had the autumn grass been more seasonal in appearance.
Ezra for the Brute 8 - LOL, he's in this scene because I didn't have Noggin's Mallard Duck product and the newest character I've bought. I'm glad I did decide to use this model because I learned a very basic concept on DAZ 3D's iRay human skin model design that Oso3D explained yesterday in one of his shader threads. I bought it yesterday for $6. You can see it's an excellent model. As usual when I render a DAZ human model in iRay material format it renders much darker in skin tone that what it appears to render in ad copy. I know from reading some of Oso3D's threads about his shader products that is because of the iRay volumetrics (reflected in parameters like transmitted color, SSS color, translucency color). Essentially since the textures have the colors already included when you use volumetrics to add yet more colors via iRay those similar colors are included for a second time which invariable makes characters have a darker skin tone than what they realistically would have (the so-called common complaint of orange-toned skin others in the forum often complain about). To work around this, not being a shader genius, I just changed the translucency color, SSS color, and transmitted color on the surfaces for this character to white, or nearly white, and the effect is the character looks more like you'd expect from the ad copy because mostly only the texture is giving colors and not the iRay volumetrics. Setting the translucency color to low values of 25% or less has a similar effect but can give a plastic look to your characters. Ezra gets a Grade A although I considered giving him a Grade B because of this iRay shader materials for human skin problems all realistic DAZ characters with iRay materials have.
Short Wet Hair for G8F & G8M - This is a great product although I use only the skin wetness geoshell and skin waterdrops geoshell and not the actual hair. You can see the Ezra character looks wet with no effort on my part (not counting effort to get the money). I give the product a Grade A.
Ryan Hair G3 & G8 - The hair itself looks good with the typical assortment of natural colors. The pose presets were lacking, although they aren't particularly needed, to have presets with an icon that shows the effect of the major contributing morph pose used in the preset is helpful to folk that can't iRay Preview in their viewports. I guess for folk that have computers with enough horsepower to iRay Preview render in their viewports it's a moot point but for folk that don't have that, posing/styling the hair is a guessing game. The product gets a grade B+.
dForce Swim Shorts - These are surfer shorts actually not swim shorts. They are for surfing or being fashionably trendy. A swimmer swimming laps would eventually split the seam on the heiny doing flipturns (it's happened multiple times). Actually a surfer not interested in eventually going naked on a public beach wouldn't surf in those either. In spite of the real world practical limitations of those surfer shorts it's a great product that dForce drapes very well and has appropriate material surfaces zones. The product gets an Grade A- because I consider them somewhat pricey.
Gingham and Stripes IRay Shaders - I've liked and been dress in such weave patterns since childhood but I think this product is lacking in enough different patterns and they all seem too dark. There is not enough contrast between the contributor colors in the fabric weave. It's a PC+ item which saves it value wise. I give it an B+ as a PC+ item and a C- as a full priced item.

Separating morphs into Head/Upper Neck & Body?In order to save a morph asset the morphs have to be available, it isn't a way to split xisting morphs. What exactly ddi you do in the save dialogues?

I have the female pack. Yep, you have to be careful with them. The one on the main promo looks psycho at its current default, but that like the others look pretty normal with tweaks. Love your personalized tweaking though.
Separating morphs into Head/Upper Neck & Body?Hi all,
I looked, but cannot find the answer. I bought a character to use just the head, but the morph is all-in-one. In the latest DAZ Studio, I've saved two versions of the character as Morph Assets, one with just Head and Upper Neck checked, and the other with everything else checked. Did I save the right thing? If so, how do I find or load these morph assets? If I didn't, what is the procedure?
Thanks so much for any help!
Freebie: How to create a V4 clone (and transfer other figures) for G8F (now with video!)3. Select Genesis 8 Female. Under the Parameters Tab, enter Hidden/Clones.4. Enter the properties of the newly created clone morph, then change the Type to Modifier/Clone.Really sorry to bother you but when I reach step 4 the only Types that show up on the drop-down menu are "none" and "Modifier/Shape". Am I doing something wrong?
No Face Transfer PaneMake sure you are running the newest release of DS 4.12, that you have a Windows 64 bit machine plus the latest update of the Genesis 8 Essentials. Load a g8 figure and select the head to then find the face pane in the (believe it's) windows menu in Studio.
If you mean that G8 has been updated to support the face transfer plugin, please note that no updates are reported in the official G8 documentation from May 2018. If it is the case please also fix this so people do know what to download for 4.12 to work.

A bit of an issue with eyes using Face TransferI like making morphs ;-)
Yes Face Transfer is saving out the scene subset character and yes you can adjust the eyes during the one session. Unless I missed a step though when I closed it, upon closing I watched Face Transfer undo the mat preset and reapply its own. So I saved out mats and made a new morph seeing if it could be saved that way and yes it can. Just ideas, use it how you wish ;-)
If you save the face transfer you are working on, doesn't it save all of that too, so it can be recalled? If not that is a glaring problem such as the case with the eyes. The developers of Face Transfer should know about that.
Star Trek Builders Unite 8: THE REBOOTHey all, I am transfering all the links over but it is going to take a bit of time since I was not the admin of the last page and the hyperlinks don't transfer over via copy and paste. I should have it all transfered by the end of the week.
Welcome back! Yes, they didn't transfer over in a working package from the prior forum either, all were broken, lot of work to get them looking all neat and tidy and working. At a quick glance you seem to have gotten what could be put back together, so.

A bit of an issue with eyes using Face TransferFace Transfer saves out its own copy of G8 and even though I applied a mat preset, it would not keep it on closing.
So for characters one may want to reuse alot, one can create a new morph to a NEW G8 figure [FT is loaded in the Viewport, transfer over the bridge to Hexagon, back in D/S remove FT and load in a Fresh G8, BASE resolution, then from Hexagon send the file back over the bridge to D/S and make the morph being sure to use an unique name] then apply a mat preset [made from that FT figure before deleting it from the scene], then apply the eye mat preset you want to use, then resave the entire mat preset. Remember to save the new morph too ;-)
End result is you still have the FT scene subset plus you would have a morph for use in any G8 figure as well as the mat presets.
n.b. always "reverse deformations" when making morphs for G3 and G8 figures.
Wow, that seems like a lot of hoop jumping. I DID buy into the unlimited save version of FaceTransfer, so that does save everything out. So I hope I would be good there.
