eGPU - anyone try this or know about them?
I'm using an eGPU (Sonnet Breakaway Box 550 with a MSI 1070ti inside) attached to a NUC for rendering and I'm pretty happy with the setup. It allows me to use my laptop to setup the scenes, sync them to my NUC and start a batch job there to render them there while I make other scenes and/or do other stuff. If you plan to use the eGPU attached to your laptop, keep in mind that this thing is bulky, the thunderbolt3 cables are really, REALLY short (they have to transfer insane bitrates), and it basically transforms your laptop into a desktop, loosing all versatility. Also the thing is heavy, which means that you (probably) won't be able to take it with you when you travel, so you won't be able to make any renders during that time. Being attached to a NUC gives you the options to upgrade pretty easily not having to worry about power supply, box dimensions, motherborad confiurations, etc.
The bad... well, as weird as that sounds, it's not big enough. They've released it before the release of the RTX 20xx series and it turns out that most of the 2080ti cards don't fit for half of a centimeter or so. Which leaves you with just a handful of choices if you decide to put those monsters inside. The PSU can handle them easily, because it's 375W dedicated for the GPU only, but they just don't fit inside.
Sculptural Genesis 8 Ultra Fun Kit [Commercial]Even more fun with Sculptural and Face Transfer together.
Canary3D, you are a genius and your products serve well our Daz 3D community.
Thanks again for creating such an amazing and useful product.
Facegen now on sale...get it!@Bobvan still haven't tried the demo of transfer I'm pretty happy with Facegen at least everyone has few choices now what to use. This is my latest the face is from Generated Faces which are faces created combining features of different people to create someone new that doesn't exist. Used Facegen morph not at 100% which also altered in facegen has several sliders to alter shape of different parts of the face plus morphs from different morph packs bought in Daz Studio

DAZ Studio 4.12 ... Face creation abilities????I'm pretty happy with this silly little result, although I should have spent some time manually tweaking the auto-created morph. Like others have said, this tool isn't quite ready for close-ups (partially because it doesn't create any other maps than diffuse), but for medium distances, it really does make recognizable characters. Just make sure you use large photos with balanced lighting (that is *REALLY* important).
looks good to me
[Released] RSSY Clothing Converter from Michael 4 to Genesis 8 Male [Commercial]Worth downloading and making another attempt. Is it likely to be live yet?
No, I would expect it mid-week next week.
While we are all waiting for the update, could you please consider request for the another product.
As you know, Face Transfer was released by Daz3D and it was exactly what, I was looking after.
It is based on the same technology, that I have available in Unity.
However it has some problems with the lips created from the photos

They are too flat.
I do not know, if it is possible, but I think, if one could create some corrective morphs (maybe SickleYield could do)
and then applying them with your scripts would make face transfer more appealing.
Maybe there are some other improvements, that could be done, as well.
I am only not so sure, if such product will be economically viable.
All the best for You and SickleYield.
Hi @Artini. Thanks, I will mention it to Sickleyield.
Face TransferOk so I reinstalled daz like 5 times now last time I reinstalled everythig ! but I keep getting a "plugin failed to load" error I have attached screenshot of the error and the version im running does anyone know what might be wrong ?
This may be the issue with the required Visual C++ Runtime:
The Face Transfer plugin failing to load on some machines may be due to a dependent library (e.g., msvcp140.dll) that does not exist on the user's machine. If this is the case, until we update the package to either include the VS 2015 redistributable or we can get a 3rd party library compiled with an earlier version of the compiler, users that experience this issue can download/install "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" from Microsoft @ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 and this should resolve the issue.

is there a Face Transfer threadSorry if I missed it somewhere on the thread, but how are people getting the head shapes with face transfer? Every time I try It's like someone just peeled off the skin and slapped it onto the gen8 base model..Are you shaping the faces/heads manually? Or is face transfer supposed to be able to follow facial structure as well?
I, more or less had the same experience & since I read that the code is a 3rd party plugin & not developed by DAZ 3D, I returned it.
Nylon Pantyhose for Genesis 8 Female (Commercial)Is this a kind of Second Skin texture, a geometry shell or actual mesh?
I would imagine that it's the along the lines of the PAs Nylon Stockings set in the store.
Looking forward to this!
Still can't tell whether this is a second skin or a geo-shell or a separate mesh. The disadvantage of the mesh is that I have never seen a perfect fit - they tend to show a gap to the skin or poke through but rarely fit precisely. The disadvantage of the second-skin texture is that they are just that: textures. No ability to morph them, roll them down or stretch them in any manner.
Do you know

Do you know how to make second-skin textures and the gelo-Shell world in DAZ Studio 4. X?
Or any tutorial that can helps a begginer like me?
Do you know how to make second-skin textures meshs and geoshell? Do you know of any tutorials that would help a beginner like me create these features in DAZ Studio or Blender or Hexagon?
Exporting all Genesis 8 Female Morphs when Exporting ClothingFor the exact morphs I am using, I am using the Genesis 8 Female Body Morph pack and I want those morphs on the clothes I am exporting.

Face Transfer - flat mouth?Everything in the face transfer addon looks great except for one thing.. none of the promotional images show the results from a 3/4 or profile.. why is that? I'm finding that the result has a flat mouth area with no lips. Is anyone else getting this? Am i doing something wrong?
Wolfman and WolfwomanWe could really use some wolf-man/wolf-woman characters. Not full werewolves but more like... well...

This.
We have plenty of offerings for others but nothing quite like this.
Would probably be a good thing to add as an additional morph/skin to flavor up another character.
Teen Raven thoughts...*yaaaawn*.... white, pretty and female....I sense a pattern....
Next?!
;)
Laurie
At least she's not a braz doll. I consider her the second realistic Teen Daz has done.
Kaylee and Josie are stylized characters along the lines of Tika and Aiko IMHO.
Content creators make what sells. They base the decisions on what to make based on actual sales. Not the few who express what they like/dislike on the forum. Saying “not another white female” like a broken record on this forum doesn’t represent the majority of consumers. Like reddit, only a few % of the community actually leave comments. Every time a white female shows up in the store, the same comments appear. But the reality is sales data is what makes decisions. Not the few on a forum. Just saying.
They only make swimsuits and white girls because they're all that sells...
Because people are only selling swimsuits and white girls.
Vicious cycle.
I can't help but look back to the olden days when Daz's QC standards were a bit more lax on the "looks 100% photo real" and take in the sheer amount of options.
That said, I feel it was a mistake leaving Genesis.
I dont see why they try to pass her off as a teen Character. Good character yes, but hardly a teenager. Speaking of Teenagers. I'm making one now right as I am reading this thread. Far from done, but shes looking decent so far... I'm aware some of her proportions are off. I'm still making her.
That's a 12 year old not a teenager.
Angel_Wings, with respect, but this character looks more like a child, maybe because very soft face (i don't find better words, hopefully you understand what i think). I'll also remind of "transitional age" psychological treats like those attempts of "finding yourself" that may lead to joining subcultures (punk, emo, goth etc.) that might also be reflected in character.
Anyway, i was trying to look for some "gothic youth" for comparison reference, dunno if this fits:
Thanks. I do have a child version of her... If you wannt see.
And that's a 6 year old.
You're not posting a teen and a child.
No. What you have is a child... and younger child.
My son started high school this year......and the teens there have a huge range of looks.
Some look like they belong in grade school.....others look like full on adults, guys taller than me with full beards, tattoos and pick-up trucks......so safe to say "Teen" range of looks is HUGE!
Aye. When I was a kid, had a girl across the way who looked like a 18 year old swimsuit model when she was 12. Was sureal.
I just have sooooooooooooo many females already that it's hard to get excited about yet one more. G8F already takes forever to load....
It's tough to keep one's enthusiasm for more of the same. I've got oodles of females, and they are all starting to look alike. So, it's not like we are complaining to complain. Some of us are just burned out over the females ;)
And FWIW, I don't think she looks like a teen either. I think Teen Jane was closer in that regard. But then I don't have Jane either (for the same reasons).
I'll be honest... rather bored of new female characters who aren't creatures or filling a specific hole.
Between Daz and Rendo, my hot girl needs are basically covered twice around.
I'd kill for more near-human females who don't follow the following pattern blindly.

RawArt is good with this, though I wish his body hair patterns on say, his female werewolf were more in line with those of the male in realism. So is Marcus. While I'm not overly fond of his core body morphs, applied to less stylized females they look really good. Infact, I'd say he has the only really inhuman looking catgirl around two generations running (In G8 I tend to use Raphas alien morphs the legs X-Tooled out with Cat Lyn and Avavex's skins). I really can't think of any one else who really bothers off the top of my head outside of a couple monsters.

Gonna reiterate, Raven alone is a FANTASTIC morph, and Summer's shape is crafted to simply enhance Raven's detailed shape- reshape the eyes and lip, shorten/make the face more youthful, etc. Her morph is definitely best with Raven, since it was made to add to Raven's base. Not all my characters utilize the Daz O shape so completely, but I was very thrilled with the shape Raven's face came with and just had to work with it. :)
Sorry for blurry comp images, I just got back from two days of mountain hiking and I'm exhausted. throwing these renders in for a couple min while i take some tylenol (joints ache like an old lady, Ach!)
And chohole she looks like a teen to me, it just shows how variable teens look anywhere, everywhere.:)Some of those look a bit creepy... but yeah, she looks... young... like a teenager. Like an actual human teenager!
*gasp*
That said, Teen Princess Leila is still best daz teen morph. I've long ported her to G8 and she's my go-to "make 'em younger" morph.
Think you could do summer applied to some of the older charactersor even the base G8F?
Ugh, she's hideous. The eyes are REALLY bad! I guess it will be a fun challenge to make her pretty. Definitely have to use other eyes, enhance her morph and skin....
It's the makeup I guess. She's perfectly lovely.
That said I mix everything.
Yes, I love the unique smiles product! No matter what I did, I couldn't make Alinah look good with any smile so she and Raven will always be sad girls lol. I haen't tried the other characters based on Raven yet. Alinah's mouth actually seems huge so I made it a bit smaller once I gave up giving her any expression beyond sad or neutral... Now I'm wondering how well Raven will mix with other characters, considering her mouth issues...

Now that is some major resting B face.
[Released] RSSY Hair Converter from Victoria 4 to Genesis 8 Female [Commercial]Hi!
I didn't make the conformers for V3 at all, but V3's rigging is basically identical to V4's; there is literally a clothing adapter that just adds a V4 morph to V3 clothes to fit them to V4 if memory serves. With V3 hair think it's possible you might get a functioning conformer, but an imperfect mesh fit (owing to difference in the shape of V3 vs. V4's head). Unfortunately I don't think I have any V3 hairs with which to test this. I definitely don't advise you to spend money on the product in hopes of that functionality.
Teen Raven thoughts...IIRC hardly any of gen4 or earlier's expressions were on dials. They wwre just about all presets which were either fully applied or not. You couldn't really blend them either. That was one of the things I most liked about GenX you could transfer the expression morphs and they came in on dials that you could adjust or mix.
"Duplicate Formulas Found" is KILLING me!Daz really does need to figure out a way for models to load without dragging studio down. It serves them to do so. This is a content store, so they want people to buy lots of content. But buying and installing lots of content can slow down loading times. And a single instance of a duplicate formula can straight up murder load times. Studio should be able to more quickly skip through such errors. After all, if people are worried about their growing library making Studio ever slower, they may cut back on how much content they buy. I don't think Daz wants that! So finding a better method for loading would be well worth the investment. First, create an new option in Studio for how it handles such errors in its settings. The user can choose to be notified like now, or choose between a couple options to quickly bypass these errors. Option #1, default to the older instance of the effected morph, or #2, default to the newer instance of the morph. Perhaps a 3rd option could be that if a Daz original base morph is involved, then it defaults to the Daz original everytime, assuming this is possible. So with this option, anytime a duplicate is found Studio can quickly power through them. An error box is generated to notify the user, but only after everything is finished loading, resulting in faster loading.Separating morphs into Head/Upper Neck & Body?File, Save As > Support Asset > Morph Asset, and just checked the parts I wanted to save the morph for. I realize now that I was baking it into the base, so I removed what I did. After playing with it some more, I found what I need to do to save just the morph, but as you said, there's no easy way to separate it.
