Are seperatly bought characters always fully customizable? (with shape shift etc. installed)
Given I've installed things like "Shape Shift" and "Head and Face Morphs" for Gen8, will I be able to fully customize/morph Gen8 core figures like Victoria 8 or even more individual characters like Alabama HD? Or will at least these individual characters be locked (by the artist) for changing their body/face?
Speaking of Alabama HD for Sydney 8, is Sydney 8 really mandatory for the figure to load at all (even naked), or is it only because Alabama used some assets from Sydney 8 for clothing etc. ?
So if I am only interested in Alabama's body/face, would I still need Sydney 8 ?

Hylas' cornerHere's my attempt to approximate Meredith's head morph, with Olympia 7 as a starting point. Not an exact match of course, but I'd like to believe I managed to capture her essence. In any case, I'm quite happy.
Skins of Salem, Riza, and V8.
It's crazy how important the materials are when you're modelling a character. In that first picture she looks like Maleficent's younger, prettier sister, and in the second she looks like a grown Merida. They're all gorgeous, though! Your curvy woman and the sabre-wielding warrior are too.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 12A weird thing happens for me with the morph fast grab items. Zev0 and DiscoBob's Skin Folds & Creases appears in the carousel, then when I go to view all the items, it shows briefly and then disappears along with all the items I own, even though I don't own that particular item. I've tested it in my cart, and it discounts just like it should.
That sounds like the behavior of products that have been hidden using the Daz Deals plugin…
Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures Part 2Has anyone created a Sean Young (Actress) model look-a-like for DAZ-Studio yet ?
Specially the "Rachel" cyborg from the film "Blade Runner".... The sexiest robot ever !
I don't think she's necessarily intended to be her, but I think Lilianna isn't too far off: https://www.daz3d.com/lilianna-hd-for-genesis-8-female
Ellithia also kinda looks like her in some of the promo shots: https://www.daz3d.com/ellithia-8
Thank you HYLAS !
That model "Lillianna - G8F" does have a very close resemblance to the actress Sean Young.Perhaps using a few face tweaks of that Face-Morph gadget, I might be able to create my lovely "Rachel" Robot from Blade Runner :)
I will post my WIP.
Thanks!
Blade Runner is one my favourite movies of all time, I would definately like to see Rachel in Dazland...
Hang on I already own Lilianna, and I bought that 200 face morph thing this morning, interesting.

2020 "There's Always Another Sale™" (Report sales errors here.)Promo page for 'Looking for a Fastgrab on morphs?' is similar, but different than Promo page for 'Celebrate 20 Years of Daz 3D'
Different New Releases, Different Featured Artists. Morphs page has additional section --> Select Fastgrab Morph Items.
Just a heads up for anyone who didn't notice. (This might be common but I wouldn't know, I seldom pay much attention to Daz sales until the Big sales come along!)
Yes, it is, but this new page presents the 20% off and $20 off coupons as if they are something new - with no mention that they are the exact same coupons on the other page, and restricted to a single use. That is what the complaint is.

Real Looking diaper for G8/3Sixus1's baby for Genesis 8 female not only includes a better looking morph than the rather... eeeh ones Daz produced (I use the daz baby head, sixus baby body) but also includes a Diper!
Natural Eyes for Genesis 8 [Commercial]LOL.. Well the vertices thing is very interesting. I am going to look into that. That should not be happening at all.
Any word on a fix to the lacrymal morph so it doesn't affect vertices that it shouldn't touch?
Does K4 Clothes fit to G8/3?Hi! :D
Does Kids4 clothes fit to G8 or G3?
I dont have Kids4, but I like the aviablity of so much child clothes ^_^ and... are the K4 clothes iray compatible? I have the feeling the clothes are all more made for the old 3D style, I love to make realistic looking images :)
And have K4 Clothes even morph sliders or is that only possible on newer Dformer clothes?
Edit: I remember I had 2-3 basic clothes... and used the pants already.

but not fitting at all... (no anatomical things under it).
I can't load iray textures to my coatmorning everyartist~
I have a problem.
oneday , I can't load iray textures to a coat belongs to a product.
- However, the files I saved before can be read normally, and it also applies this iray textures.
- the pants belongs to the same product is OK, it can apply Iray and 3Delight textures.
- the coat can apply 3Delight textures , no problem . but can't apply Iray textures.
I thought about what I had done recently that might affect it.
I have just used [ morph loader pro ] to load a obj morph fixed by Marvelous Designer, but only for pants ! never touched the coat !
I tried to run the product on other computers, but I had the same problem.
I tried using a backup product and had the same problem .
I have no idea about this ....

Blender OBJ to G8 Wearable? This is a high level overview of the process: First export the unmorphed unposed G8 character to Obj from Daz Studio. Then import that Obj into Blender to act as a fitting mannequin. Model the collar in Blender to fit on the unmorphed unposed Genesis 8 character. Export your collar as Obj. In Daz Studio, import the collar Obj and use the Transfer Utility to rig it to G8. Transfer Utility will create a basic weight map that you can edit in Daz Studio if necessary. No Blender weight mapping is needed. After rigging with the Transfer Utility, save it as a Figure/Prop Asset in your Content Library.Blender OBJ to G8 Wearable? No, don't weight map it in Blender. Instead, make sure that the collar lines up with the zeroed Genesis 8 on load (without aplying any adjusments to either), then go to Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility, set the Genesis 8 figure as the Source and your object as the Target, and click Apply - see how that goes.
DAZ 3D Human Figures - A History... and then there was IRAY, GTX cards, Dforce, strandbased hair, Blender 2.8's new user interface, RTX Cards, Face Transfer... Making anything prior Genesis 3 maybe even Genesis 3 itself obsolete. Muah ha ha ha...
4.12 and beyond!!!... To the Future!!!!
Well, at least there are the converter programs, to allow us all to convert up to G8 most anything from before, must to keep them alive. ;)
Muscle-Based Deformation take 2Link to facial movement: https://imgur.com/a/lIaNqeD
Everything is bone-baased so no blendshapes/morphtargets. The face has 150+ bones and can easily be controlled through the PowerPose tool. The movement is FACS based with added fine-control for each individual element.
The PowerPose was incredibly difficult to customize. I made another thread about it asking for help but eventually I got it working with no hick-ups. Very useful tool though clearly not meant for custom figures.
It is designed to support any figure, though obviously custom figures may require somethng other than the default template.
Features like eyebrows (and facial hair for the male version) will be added after I complete the figure and they will attach like a conforming garment. Everything is created with the intention of it being higly customizable afterwards, which is why a bone-driven facial system is imperative. Changing the face through a morph will also cause the facial previous expression-morphs to look wonky. But if it's bone-driven, using a face-morph + the "adjust rigging to shape" feature will transfer the facial control properly to a new character.
It's with the customization that I had trouble with. I figured out workarounds through trial and error. One bug that I could not get rid of was that whenever I added a new node point with the word "Eye" in it makes the node unfunctional, uneditable, and hidden if not in "Edit Mode". Another bug would be that if I deleted a node point then clicked within the PowerPose tab Daz would crash. Deleteting templates within Daz also does not work.

What program do you use rig and weight paint outfit for DAZ model? After using transfer utility for my imported model, there are still some clipping issues for my pose, so I decided to manually edit the skin weight. However, I soon found out the weight painting tool in DAZ is pretty unhandy, and there are not many tutorials or tips about how to use the tool effectively.
Do you weight paint inside DAZ, or there are other wokflow that would make weight painting a little bit less frustrating?
Most people work in DS, as far as I know, since loading weights from another application can be tricky. What issues are you having?
Help with the script please
Oh wait, I don't know if it will work like that, I just remembered that morph will only work if each item has the same polycount. That's right, this method doesn't work, I already tried.
Each item has a different number of polygons.
SereneNight's Sci-Fi Fun Thread 2My question is, Why does it take so long to 'apply figures' to existing characters and to 'zero poses' I swear it used to be faster on my much slower machine.
Yes, it has become much much slower in 4.12. I don't know why.
It seems to take forever to do certain things, even on my new fast computer. Zeroing a figure, applying a figure, applying poses, it seems to really strain at it. I think it is a morph thing. I tested it on my pose creation computer which only has genesis 8 male, and M8, and some short for him to wear, and it can zero a figure much faster, than my super powerful computer can. So I wonder if the lag is casued by character morphs, of which I have thousands.
