[Released]Universe Explorer for G8Males[Commercial]
“Universe Explorer for Genesis 8 Males” is the latest space suit for Midnight_stories. It has the feel of the next generator astronauts who are heading out to Mars and the outer solar system. This pack includes Full body suit, Gloves, Boots, Helmet, Cap and Backpack. Plus 9 material presets and 10 body shapes. Also a premade subset with limits on it so you can apply standard poses to it. Gloves have an expand morph to get that spacesuit look. Be on the lookout for the matching Genesis 8 Females version and the Universal Habitat. Great for all your space exploration scene.
Is GenX worth it?I'm interested in picking this up, but I'm a bit confused on which products you need to transfer Genesis 1 up to Genesis 3. The base product seems to be just for pre-G1 stuff up to G2.You need GenX2 and both the Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 add-ons.
Genesis Generation X2 question
As for male to female morphs, the hard part there for every developer is the breasts- they're often baked into a morph and wouldn't really have a way to do that if it's not the default female/male shapes. That said I bet Zev could figure it out but i'm guessing it'd be a ton of work, and there's so many wild shapes. :D I think zev0 has a list a mile long of things people want... heh.
....yeah it gives me fits when I try to create child characters, both male and female, as I also use Skin Builder Pro (which doesn't create skins for Genesis males) as it makes getting the chest perfectly flat extremely difficult, even using the Growing Up breast/chest morphs. I find that using the "Breasts Gone" morph (either in the standard G3 body morphs or Breast Control utility tends to distort the mesh which can affect clothing fits.
What do you wish was more popular?1. Cute stylized/toon males (like what Marcius, and the PAs who made the anime guys have been doing) so they can match the females better.
2. Elf/fairy fantasy clothes for males (pelts doesn't cut it)
3. Horse 2 because I'd love more skins for it and dForce hairs for it.
4. Cute medium-sized or little dogs for Dog 8. Even if they're "mutts."
5. Geografted paws and eyes for DAZ House Cat. I'd take a weird alien/monster cat morph with geografts too. This remake has potential.
What do you wish was more popular?I'll start:
A lot more monsters and weird stuff. Teapot headed people, living chess pieces, really weird aliens, more and more monsters. (Monsters sometimes do ok and a few PAs make great ones, but... MORE ;)
Realistic armors and footwear, particularly for women but also just generally. Particularly for Genesis 8; there's a lot of cool armor through the generations but the more rigid the outfit is supposed to be the worse it is at autofitting.
A LOT more animals (modern, dinosaurs, etc). There are some excellent animals/dinosaurs in the store, I'd just like about 50x as many...
Went on a Black Friday weekend shopping spree in Dinoraul's store at the rendo to satisfy my dino needs and finally bought the new DAZ House Cat (gonna see if I can transfer Lynes' wild cat morphs to the newer cat; wish me luck). Definitely would love more realistic animals. A ram to go with the DAZ sheep, cape buffalo to face off against my lion pride, a new rabbit and hare, a MOUSE... and a columbian mammoth and/ or whoolly mammoth with proportions closer to DR's mammoth which is no longer available since CP closed.
Polish's Deathpion Sci-Fi Scorpion Mech gives me hope we'll see more Zoids animal mechs for sale. I have CyberD Model-1, R.A.P.T.O.R., Mestophales Mech Dragon, Hailey's Comet and RoboRex for the Digital I Rex (plus more from CP), and the new mecha sets have me craving for more awesome mech animals such as ligers and sabertooths.

I'm a software developer and we use "probably" all the time to express inaccuracy. And software developers are masters of inaccuracy when they have to make a statement

Apart from that many have already expressed the wish for HD feet morphs and more diversity for feets... and if a single non HD feet morph sells outside the DAZ store for about $50, I can see a market there...
Especially when answering the question(s)
1. How long will that feature take?
2. When will it be ready?
Easy Environments: Winter Bridge (Daz Studio) [Commercial]Good morning!
Winter is ...here, and a set fitting the season is coming. :)
It`s called Easy Environments: Frozen Lake.
It features (-surprise-) a frozen lake, a snowy road alongside it, and two skyspheres/HDRIs (close and wide mountains).
The terrain has footprint- and a bumpiness morph.
The ice has a "broken" option, and a simplistic (rather cartoon style) fishing hole option.
I hope you`ll like it!Easy Environments: Frozen Lake (3Delight & Iray) Previews:

Can DAZ operate Stand Alone and Can the current version DAZ Studio open Poser models?I think, you'd find as much value, and quite likely more in spending some time looking for freebies related to G8 and G3; there is a lot out there and often of surprising quality.
With regards to phone home, the only proviso there is any DRM products, these are termed Daz Connect (Daz Encrypted Connect or similar - I forget exactly what); fortuneately there haven't been any released for a year or more, but the functionality still exists in Studio. You may see references to Daz Connect as you browse the site.
It is also reasonably straightforward, if possibly time-consuming, to transfer V4 to G8, Daz's most recent Genesis figure. Both morphs and textures require plugins/products that cost, but are considered worth it by many.
As an example, this is G8F; a morph transferred from G3 (Mia); textures from V4 (Paloma); Freebie dress and Leggings (G8 iirc); the hair is dforce for G8.
XTransfer Module 1- Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Morph Converter (Commercial)"it won't seem to pick up all the morphs to tranfer"
We found the issue..Busy testing it...The problem was that XGen wasn't saving a full path that includes author and product, it just had an author folder. Hense why it could select some morphs. So ye older morphs seemed to work, but new ones no..Don't know if its studio related..But we made a fix so it works on new GenX ones...
I am glad you found a solution, but my issue isn't with Xtransfer, it is with GenX now that doesn't seem to be working to transfer from G2 to G3 and I am not sure if it is an issue with GenX or user input that is in error but when I am transferring a character morph from Gen 2 and then try it on Gen3 it may only have worked on the head or body but not both even tho I am doing create single morph.
Ah....Hmmm mine is working...I just used it now to do that Scott 6 example.
Can DAZ operate Stand Alone and Can the current version DAZ Studio open Poser models?Thank you very much for the clear answers, guy (gals). Especially Leanna for the details in loading of Poser files. I think I'm pretty much good except for the material systems (ugh!) and maybe weight mapping. I last used the P5 Poser figures (Jesse/James?) although I do own the others, so P9 shouldn't be a problem. Most of my figures are V3, SP3, V4,S4, and Aiko, (all Daz creations) maybe with a few monsters thrown in. Poser dynamic hair IMHO never really worked well so I didn't use it. I'm not sure how much I have of PMD injection; that could be a problem. And Easy Pose tentacles and rope figures (Does Easy Pose work in Daz?). My guess is if I loaded a scene with Easy Pose I might not be able to alter the frames going forward, but frame to frame statically might be okay.
There's a thread in the Bondware Poser forum, which I started (asking whether 11.2 still had the Smith Micro Kill swicth that was put in at the previous revision, starting with Game Developer - the one I was using), because I was having trouble with Poser periodically and inconveniently needing re-activation, and the activation process in theory being swift IF everything in the transfer process went ok, but in practice being rather painful. I'm not going to put a link, but suffice it to say that most of the thread had pretty informative and thoughtful responses (some pro, most con), except a fight got started at the end by a couple of the writers.
One good thing came out of it for me, though, namely a clear answer as to whether Bondware was keeping the Kill switch policy, to which the answer is yes: they've made their decision, it is what it is and it won't be changing, even for 11.3. My personal opinion is that Smith Micro instituting that was the final nail in the downfall of the wide spread acceptance of Poser software, even though it can also be easily argued that lack of innovation by SM was also a major cause. I'm glad that Daz has found a way to prosper and I hope that Daz doesn't change tacks. Of course, I wish Poser well also as both add to the 3D character and artist community.
Again, Thanks guys/gals!

XTransfer Module 1- Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Morph Converter (Commercial)Yes you should be able to when we role out the update that also fixes the GenX bug. Just tested with Scott 6 on G8F. Should be no different with a G1 morph.
Transferring Clothing Rig and Smoothing Causes LockupWell, every time I tried to rig to the character the mesh gets super crinkled and goes half inside the skin, if that makes sense. It doesn't look like clothing, it's like it tries to be skin.
I must be doing the transfer utility wrong, so maybe I'll have to dig into that more. It seems so simple in the videos, but the result I'm getting just isn't the same.
At this stage: "3) I load in my custom bodysuit (which basically just overlaps the other one in the exact same place)" -- that is an .obj right. And it is already "just as you want it to be" -- to make clothing the .obj has to be "landing" exactly as you want it before trying to make clothing with it. And yes, certainly it can have its own name. And it is best that the item from which it came not be in the scene because the mat names can get messed up too.
Bluejuante Nadya HDThanks all!
Bluejaunte said in another thread that feet morphs were a possibility and they won't rule it out.I agree about Nadya - she is beautiful. Also, was it intended to give her an eastern European look that correlates with her name? I get that vibe from her but it could be accidental.
Yes could be a Russian model or something. She's pretty tall too, I'm not sure the promos allude to the fact that she's like 1.85m.
Another beautiful character from Bluejuante!
So...I hate to ask for even more things, since Bluejuante already gives us so much, and I know that there are ways to do this myself to some extent, but I would love it if we could get hands-only and feet-only morphs of BJ's characters.
All my characters have a feet neutralizing morph, if you dial this to minus 100% you can give the feet to anyone.
Awesome, thanks! I would probably personally use the hand morphs more so than foot morphs, just in case you think it's worth your time to do a separate hand morph.
XTransfer Module 1- Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Morph Converter (Commercial)Someone sucessfully managed to transfer morphs from Genesis1 to Genesis3 and finally Genesis8?
I would like to bring all my morphs from older figures.
Can DAZ operate Stand Alone and Can the current version DAZ Studio open Poser models?(1) Can DAZ software operate standalone? (Physically firewalled graphics machine, No internet connection);Yes. The only exception is if you want to install your content with Connect (install system built directly in DS): Connect has an offline install mode, but you'll need to connect the machine to the internet at least once to generate your Connect key so that the offline install can work.
There might be plugins which require online activation, but I can't think of any right now.
Do the newer version have a Poser-like Kill switch? No.
(2) Can DAZ open Poser models (if so, difficulty?). I have some rather large ones with multiple characters, mostly V4 but some going back to P5 Jesse, I think the character was.
Yes, with a few caveats:
- Material systems are totally different. DS will read only basic settings and can't use any of the nodes from the material room, for example.
- DS can't use Poser weightmaps. Figures using poser weightmapping (like the base Poser figures from P9+ or the Poser version of Dawn) will load with tons of warnings, and won't pose properly
- DS can't use the "capsule rigging" introduced in Poser 8, which is used by a few figures from that time. Again, the figure will load but won't pose properly.
- Poser dynamic hair won't work at all
- Poser dynamic cloth will be a static prop by default (you can get around that with dForce)
- DS can't use PMD injection, so if you have morph packs which use those they won't work at all in DS (opening a saved scene using them would probably work though)

I don;t know if it's true of the more recent Bluejaunte characters, but the product page for Lyra says:
Her feet have been heavily sculpted which may result in shoes not fitting properly. For those cases I have included a neutralizing dial for the foot shape so you can dial them back out again. And of course you could set this to a negative value to give the feet to your other characters.
I dont understand. How do you give BJ feet to another character? There is a separate morph slider for the feet and you can them apply it to any character
Yes but you add it by setting the slider to a negative?Correct. You have to click on the cog icon beside the favorite and untick the limits then you can slide it from 0 to -100% for how much you want to dial in for the morph. You can set all the foot morphs from all BJ's characters' foot morphs like this and dial each one to get variance from them all on a single character.
