Kitten Morph
Oooh, I like small kittens. Thank you, I would make the ears smaller and the showing skin pinker. This is an excellent small cat morph but kittens have a more scawny appearance and facial features a little more pushed together and ears smaller. The body of a kitten tends to be thinner while still getting milk from their mother. Breeds does affect how they look when very young. Once again thanks for morph.
Is DAZ addressing the Black Sclera when character is far from world origin issue?I've run in to this problem way too many times now.
It seems like this should have been addressed by now, without us having to build new morphs to push the eye moisture out.
JD
Itbis, as far as I know, an Iray issue so not soemthing Daz itself can address.
I could see it as an Iray only issue if the workaround wasn't to expand the eye moisture layer.
I would think they would at least make the eye moisture layer morph a standard morph option at least...
But I get it...

The problem is, as I understand it, the limitation of floating point numbers - they have only a certain number of bits each, so can carry only a limited number of significant digits. As the part in front of the decimal needs more digits, moving away from 0, so there are fewer available for after the decimal and so Iray can no longer correctly resolve the gap between close surfaces. Why it affects Iray and not other engines I don't know - at a gess it's related to the way the scene is represented, to the precise calculations performed, or both (or something else entrely).
Adding a morph to increase the gap might well be a sensible feature request for figures.
Yes, floating point numbers are the bane of digital computers. Think about the teeth of a comb. Some have them very close together and don't tend to do much hair at once, while comsb with teeth further part will cover more hair, the combing will not be as fine. So floating point support either holds large numbers with limited decimal places or smaller numbers with many, many decimals places.
Exporting Genesis 8It would be a "Static" model that I want to bring into blender, the pose, morphs and textures are all done in Daz Studio. I'd like to take advantage of Blenders render engine and see just how well this could look. It would be great if the morphs and pose could be baked into the form, and leaving the UV mapping coordinates assigned the figure. This shouldn't be this hard to accomplish, or so we thought. This harkens back to the days when Macromedia did not like to talk with Adobe, and Autodesk refused to talk/interact with any of their compeditors. If its still a hindrance to near impossible to "shake hands" with another 3D application then users eventually drop the software for something that will work.
Whatever way you do this, the most signficant issues will be with textures.
You can transfer to Blender using the OBJ file format, but only very basic textures will be transferred. The pose and the morphs will be 'baked in' to the figure. HD morphs are the exception: you can only get the base resolution.
You mention plugins, by which I guess you mean mcjTeleBlender by mCasual, or the Daz Importer by Thomas Larsson from http://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/p/daz-importer.html. Both are free, the only cost to try them is some of your time.
I regularly use the Daz Importer. It will transfer a scene with pose and morphs 'baked in', but again can only handle the base resolution. The textures (materials) are certainly better than you will get with the OBJ file format, but they are not perfect and you will very likely want to adjust them. It is worth studying the documentation provided by the author to get the best out of this plugin, which has a number of other useful features. It will transfer the Daz rig for rigged figures, which you can of course delete if you don't want it, or convert it to a Rigify-style rig including IK.
There is as yet no one-click option to transfer a figure from Daz Studio to Blender in such a way that it will render exactly in Cycles and/or Eevee looking exactly like it did in Daz Studio with no user intervention. I'd suggest we will have found the holy grail and the philosopher's stone before that is available (I believe they are both together in the back of a closet somewhere, along with Amelia Earhart and a huge heap of odd socks)
Better looking /less plastic looking skin in light?Basically, default camera settings are set to what you would use taking a photo outside during a bright sunny day. At those settings, indoor would look very dark. If indoor lights look bright at default settings, they are super bright lights, like a high powered spotlight. Skin looks very shiny in those kinds of lighting conditions. I hope that makes any sense lol.
Subd put to 3 or 4 will help a lot with micro details if using a well made HD morph.G8F - How do you prevent the shoulder from changing/morphing breast shape?Wait a second, something still not right.
On the Right Pectoral, I have Up-Down and Side-Side unchained, but when I Bend the Right Collar all the way by a negative value, it still changes the morph shape of the Right Pectoral Breast. It doesn't affect it as much, but it still changes the shape.
Morphs missing. Where'd they go?I recently had to do a clean re-install of Daz. I've installed Genesis 8 Female and Male Body and Head Morphs, but the Morph Dials are nowhere to be found. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I built a lot of custom characters with those morphs and now I can't use them at all.
Product Cross Gender/Transgender -Transfer morphs (feature suggestions)I found some time to anaylize the issue with the moving feets when doing gender transformations.
It looks like that this is not caused by the clone morphs, but by a height morphs which is often used in combination with gender transformation.
A good example is the height morph from G8 Female Body Morph:
https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-female-body-morphs
If you trigger this morph, you see how the position of the feet and legs is moving.
A very usefull product for height transformations would be a script that allows you to save the hip and legs position. Than you apply the height morph and run the script, which would adjust the legs in a way that they match with saved position, after applying the height morph.
This could maybe your next product, after the Cross Gender one :)Telling Fit controllers a fake cloth name?I think you want to add posing handles, extra bones that will move the fabric. You can do that with the Joint Editor tool (create new child bone from the right-click Edit menu and set the centre point) and Geometry Editor/Node Weightmap Brush tools (set up selections and fill/paint the weights for the new bones). You could set up an example with fairly extensive hanging sections, then use that as the source figure for the Transfer Utility - you can also set such an item up as a template, though as I recall that still requires some manual editing of fles and I'm not sure where there is a guide.
So this is exactly the type of thing I would like to see in a proper tutorial with screenshots. I never knew this was even possible in DS! Thanks Richard for this info, but it still feels a bit vague and would love a step by step tutorial with screenshots...
Modify existing clothes from Daz3D Studio in HexagonHi,
I want to make small changes to existing clothes like Basicware T-Shirt. Especially I want to cut a hole from it. I have two questions there.
I transferred it from DS to Hexagon. Then I tried to delete faces where the hole should be. That works, but gives that "rectangled" edges, as I can only select complete faces. I can the smooth the edges with the tweak tool.
Question 1: is there an easier way to cut a smooth hole into an object? Some kind of drawing a spline or something and cut it from the shirt. Or is there a possibility to even cut a complete object at a plane which goes through it?
After I have edited the shirt I tried to send it back to DS. DS asks if I want to create a morph or a prop. If I select morph it says that does not work because the geometry has changed. So I can only create a prop. But a prop is no cloth. I lost the ability to fit it to a figure and I lost the textures and materials.
Question 2: how can I reimport the cloth to DS so that it is fully functional?
I watched several tutorials how to create clothes from scratch. They all explaned in detail how to import a figure as a "puppet" and how to create the clothing item. But I found no tutoriall which describes how to import it as areal clothing item into DS.

Uff... Are there maybe video tutorials who explain this ? I guess... I'm not the first who wanna add seperate controllers? :D
TritiumCG Freebie ThreadHere's another batch of three morphs:
https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/Andrea-Deck-Head-Morph-for-G8F-828611656 | https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/The-Last-Of-Us-Ellie-Head-Morph-for-G8F-828813864 | https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/Lela-Star-Head-Morph-for-G8F-829194363
You can always use some of the morphs in small quantities and mix and match. Andrea Deck for example could make a nice generic pretty face if mixed and Ellie would work good as a base for a younger character.
Gack! Even Stonemason has done it! Big issue with space environments.Something that just bugs the ever-lovin' out of me - spacecraft or dwellings in hostile envvironments wit loose cables, ducting, or piping just lying on the deck waiting to be tripped over and absolutely NO sign of battle damage or other reason for what MUST be an emergency repair. And if these run through any automatic blast or pressure door there should be a crew member stationed at that door prepared to cut anything running through it immediately. If I were the captain of this starship I'd give Enginering four hours to rout those cables under the deck or secure them out of the way and cover them so they couldn't be stepped on or tripped over.
Apologies, @Stonemason - your new set just ended up being the final straw - and if the cables can be hidden it isn't that big an issue on the product.
cap'n!
the entire maintainence crew has just filed for transfer to another vessel. lieutenant singh down in hydroponics says we're lookin' at a serious shortage of fruits and veggies unless you give the lads their hoses back. macallister reports that engineering can't route emergency power to shield two because some fool pulled used the heavy transducer cables out of cable storage and used 'em to power the battle suit charger station--and the surge overload completely depolarized 'em.
an' the steward on deck one says your quarters are swarming with tyrenian fisslebugs again--lord only knows how the bloodthirsty little beasties keep getting in there!--and the whole wing has got to be sterilized. again...
it's like a nightmare, cap'n! it's...it's almost as bad as last week!

New Installed Morphs Not AppearingI still can't change the "Content Files to Install To" path!!!
I've tried a fresh start uninstalling everything through DIM and control panel, deleted all folders and used Ccleaner to clean the registery. I downloaded a fresh copy of DIM and proceded to set up the paths. After I enter the new "Content Files to Install To" path, it still shows the recommended path to "C:/Users/user name/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cmsand" and the "Path Shortcuts" drop down still shows only "Recommended Dax Studio/Poser Content Folder".
I tried setting "Content Updates" to "Install to currently selected" and "Install to each packages respective installed path" but it makes no difference. I don't really know the difference. The wording is not clear. I assume the later is the default path.
There appears to be no way to change this. I know its been mentioned I should be able to, but I see now possible way.
>>>>Can you please post post a step by step instruction or a link to video that shows how to do this correctly?<<<<
Note: Previously after trying to reinstall Daz Studio and the Essentials only, I then installed the GS8 Female head and body shapes only. The body morph sliders did appear repeatedly. It appears there is no issue with the body shapes files.
Any good tutorials and advice on how to make my own Daz Model?Welcome Chris! First off, Daz Studio is not a modeling app, it's for posing, animation and rendering. Blender is a modeling app with posing, rendering and animation capabilities. You don't have to know anything about working with 3D to use Daz Studio, but it does help. There are so many one click oprions it makes creating digital art or anmations pretty easy IMO.
As for creating your very own 3D model, that is not really an option per say in DS. You can morph, mold and create any shape or likeness you want with DS, but the actual 3D mesh model belongs to DAZ, you just have a license to use it for renders and animations and it can't be shared or sold, just an FYI.
As for creating celebrity likenesses with DS you have 4 options, one is facegen https://www.daz3d.com/facegen-artist-pro
the other is headshop https://www.daz3d.com/headshop-12-for-genesis-8
the third is the face transfer system in DS, this products helps with that https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-unlimited
and lastly, like you mentioned, using a modeling app like Blender or ZBrush to create a morph by hand
Any good tutorials and advice on how to make my own Daz Model? In case there's confusion, keep in mind that nearly all models in the store aren't stand alone modeled figures, but shapes of standard figures.
That is, you have a basic Genesis 8 Female figure, and then people modify it to look like... whatever. And then you can create a dial to change the base figure into your new shape.
If THAT'S what you want to do (or at least start with), look for 'figure morph tutorials.'
What's the official proper way to transfer custom morphs from G8F to another G8F figure? If you mean a custom morph, imported through Morph Loader or spawned from dForms, or ERC controller, a slider created from ERC Freeze on a number of existing morph assets, then to make it generally available you'd have to save as a morph asset (File>Save As>Support Assets>Morph Asset). If it's a set of values for existing morph assets then just File>Save As>Shaping Preset.
Thanks. DAZ makes these things so easy. I can't believe this software is free.

Is there a way to save the custom morph as a content library setting, then you just apply your custom morph to another G8F figure?
Dforce Weight nodeIf the whole thing has a non-zero dynamic strength then it will simulate - how useful the results are will depend on the item (if there is no opening at the flies or zipper then it isn't going to pass over the hips unless you do something like stretching the waist with a morph).
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 12Both thumbs up to @CGI3DM, maker of Shape Splitter (fka X-Morphs). When I asked for advice on creating a corrective eye morph for my G8 to G3 back converted characters, CGI3DM gave some excellent advice with screencaptures and a downloadable dformer for G3F's eyes, which I installed under \Scripts\X-Tools\Presets-DForm. Below is the post I made in the other thread about my results.

At left, we have Ellithia backconverted to G3F, with very fine tolerances that normally fix most eye problems. Note the demonic-looking elongated irises and goats-eye pupils.
At center, we have Ellithia with an eye morph created in X-Morphs/Shape Splitter using the dformer supplied above. The eyemorph has been dialed to -120%. Irises and pupils are a pretty normal shape, but point outwards.
At right, we have the final fixed version: I have selected the left eyeball and set the Side-Side dial to 10, and then selected the right eyeball and set the Side-Side dial to -10.
