No idea, but since thats the michael 4 version of the hair thats a place to start. But also - m4 is pretty old at this points its uhhh 5.1 figure generations back. Current figure generation is 8.1
Installing Vladimir (The Vampire)It's getting late. I'll leave you with another approach.
When you run DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat, do the modified dates of the .pz2 files in "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4" change to the time it is run? If not, something is wrong. If the channels and groups are not being added, something is wrong. Do you maybe have another version of Michael4 somewhere that might be interfering? Another library perhaps? Maybe a leftover folder somewhere?

So, for example, M4BodyChnnls.pz2 does not have a line like this:
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_pe076_Chnnls.pz2" (for Hiro 4)
or a line like this:
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_mr477_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2" (for Morphs++)
Nope. Not in the fies in the directory you detailed above.

A couple other things to check: in the folder "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4",
edit the "M4BODYChnnls.pz2" to see if it contains the line:
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_mr506_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2"
Next, in file "M4ERC.pz2", look for this line:
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_mr506_DAZ_ERC.pz2"
Then, in file "M4BODYGrps.pz2" search for "groupnode Vladimir"
If they are all present, I do not know why Vlad does not appear.

readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_mr506_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2"
No. Only line it contains is:
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_pe074inj_Chnnls.pz2"
Next, in file "M4ERC.pz2", look for this line:
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:BODY:00-ps_mr506_DAZ_ERC.pz2"
No. It only has the following lines:readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:neck:04-ps_pe074_DAZ_ERC.pz2"
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Michael 4:head:05-ps_pe074_DAZ_ERC.pz2"

Nope. Its only has the following lines:

Sorry, I went off on a bit of a tangent at first. See my two previous posts. Those are the real files to check ("Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4" - M4BODYChnnls.pz2, M4ERC.pz2, M4BODYGrps.pz2), all the others are installed with the product. The files used by Vladimir in "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4" must have the lines to include Vladimir's group, channels and controllers when loading Michael 4 (I give three examples, one of each, to see if they are, in fact, present. If one is good, the others should be, too. All the other files involved have the controllers hidden, but do have data). If the lines to include Vladimir are not present, the group, channels, and controllers will not exist, and the deltas (morphs) will have nowhere to go when they get injected.
I checked all three files mentioned and to be honest, none of them have any relevant info pertaining to Vladimir... however, i dont see anything in there relevant to Morphs++ or Hiro4 either, which i know is being loaded..

After Step 2, check if you have the generated morphs in "\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4\Deltas\Vladimir". There should be 5 InjDeltas and 5 RemDeltas. The group (under top level Michael 4/Morphs|Shapes, not the head) won't exist yet. You need to inject the Vladimir morphs into Michael 4 as described above, then you should see the group.
Ok, the 10 morphs (5 INJ and 5 REM) are there as you described.
So does this mean Step 2 succeeded and I can go to the next step?
If so, please detail what EXACTLY the next step is?
Is it loading M4, selecting the entire figure, go to the Pose directory and select INJ Vladimir and i should see a group under M4 in the parms tab labelled "Vladimir"?
If so, Ive done exactly that and theres no Vladimir group nowhere.
-MJ
Yes, that would indicate Step 2 completed. Maybe. Check if there are many (45 to be exact) sets of three files in "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4\" in various sub-folders (one set for each node) containing "ps_mr506_DAZ" (Chnnls, ERC, Grps). All these files work together to add the morph channels to M4, create the sliders and create the group in the parameters (all hidden except the top one). Next, apply the "INJ Vladimir.pz2" and you should then be able to see the Vladimir group. It works the same way as Hiro 4, Freak 4, Morphs++, Creature Creator, etc.
I do recall that you use an older version of Studio, so maybe the other groups are visible but disabled until injected, newer versions of Studio hide them. I can see them if I show hidden properties even if they are not injected. If there is a setting to show hidden properties, do that. Type Vlad in the filter box in the Parameters or Shaping tab and see if there are any morphs or groups that show up. (Not sure if your version supports that).
Show Hidden Properties is checked.
I attached a few files to show the Vladmir content files are there.
Also shown is a render of M4 with Hiro4 tab expanded. As you can see his Hiro4 morphs are present, but blank. When i goto the Pose directory and select Inj-Hiro4 these same fields activate.. I expected the process with Vladimir would be identical, but when i load M4, there is no Vladimir Group.
Any idea what going on or what im doing wrong?
-MJInstalling Vladimir (The Vampire)Okay, I decided to go through the steps myself from scratch. The only files that are created are the ones in "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4". All those M4*chnnls and M4*grps and the one M4ERC file consolidate all the installed data files into one place that the figure loads up. The base .cr2 loads all channels and groups, preparing the figure for the morph injections. By default the M4 Base morphs are always loaded, and any channels and groups that are present (generated by the .bat file). The other files (InjDeltas, RemDeltas, the *ps_mr506_DAZ*) are actually installed with the product and are used to generate the files that actually load them where they should go. It is done that way so that the base figure doesn't have to be changed all the time. It loads a standard set of files that have all the added morphs for all the body parts.
When you run the DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat" file, all the M4*.pz2 files in the "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4" folder are regenerated (they should all have the date of the last run). From there, the Michael4.cr2 loads them, whatever they contain. These are the files that must contain the Vladimir instructions, as I indicated in the previous post. Those are just three of the files involved, but if one is good, I assume all the others are, too.
Sorry for the confusion, it has been a while since I looked at the exact process.

That generates the morph injection channels and deltas for use on the figure. When loading Michael 4 with Power Loader, select Vladimir morphs, and Michael will load with the morphs ready to use. If just loading a simple Michael 4, go to "Runtime\Libraries\Pose\DAZ's Michael 4\Morph Injections" and apply "INJ Vladimir". To actually apply the morphs, look in the Parameters or Shaping tab under Morphs|Shapes for a Vladimir group. Dial him in...
Ok, so if im hearing you correctly, if I:
1) install Vladimir
2) run the "DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat"
3) when i load M4 I should see an empty Vladimir group in my Parms tab. Correct?
If so, ive done steps 1 and 2 and do not see a Vladimir group in the neither the main nor the head. I see a Morphs++ and Hiro4 group (as those are the only ones ive installed). So i take it the .BAT file failed in doing what it needed to do to move forward. Correct?

If you use the Power Loader, you have to check "Generate ExP Files" and have Vladimir selected in the list, or just do All Listed Products (Vladimir uses Michael 4 as a base). If not using Power Loader, you need to use a file explorer to go to "Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ" folder and run "DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat".
Ok, doing this does EXACTLY what? (I did this already and doing so had no visible effect so im not sure what this step did). And once you do this, what do you do next?

Is G8 on the downward slope?I've had no issues with converted* clothes and they are fast.
Clothes that have been script converted are way better. Less glitchy, and follow the G8 shapes much better.
Annoyingly however really really old stuff might might have incomplete geometries which split seams when smoothing is applied.
* Riversoft Art's scripts are awesome and they really work well. (feet and shoes are still an issue..)
https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-clothing-converter-from-michael-4-to-genesis-8-male
Using this script I was able to convert Slicer from M4, and i gotta tell ya, it worked really well. Not only that, but it followed G8 morphs as well as you'd hope. (Meaning, you'll want to mannually adjust and massively over smooth it on an extreme shape, then save that as a geometry for the clothes.) If I recall, slicer has a lot of peculiarities, one incomplete seam, and it has geometry over geometry.
Let me make this clear... Slicer is a 'man dress' and posing with it was aweful to work with back in the day. Bringing it forward with newer Daz software and morphing is a real improvement. (loading is super fast too)
Using older content on newer figuresApart from the XTransfer available here to get Genesis 3 characters to Genesis 8.. There is a manual way of getting Genesis 3 characters to Genesis 8, and there in it is very possible to get Victoria 4/MIchael 4, Genesis and Genesis 2 characters to Genesis 8.. It just involves the step of porting to Genesis 3 first and then porting to Genesis 8..
The one issue I did find was that in doing so, the ported characters would lose some of the facial definitions of the original character..
There are some videos on Youtube that can help in manually porting characters..
Can’t get Jepe shape to work. The required utility page https://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male talks about using shapes and not just textures. I just can"t see how I"l supposed to use the supplied M4 injection morphs from Enzo.
