Auto Shape Enhancer [Commercial]
DMasterPosts: 327 has the old ribcage.
I'm so sorry, I don't understand if this is a link or a reference to an older post or what... I looked through the old posts here and could not find any old ribcage morph file. There was a dropbox file you mentioned ribcage in page 2, but the link is to your dropbox and is dead.
I agree that it will be easier for me to just open and re-save, but the actual change in how the mesh is shaped is what is causing problems. This REALLY kinda screwed me over, as I don't have the time to fix all of the fiiles in ZBrush and I had them stacked up in the render queue ready to go this weekend.
I learned my lesson about not not updating while I have renders in the queue pending to avoid this, but for right now could you re upload or at least point me to where that old morph file is? I'll be forever indebted to you and be a "forever" customer if you can help me out with this... thank you!
EDIT - I'm sorry if I sound despirate, I'm honestly freaking out here... I had barely enough time to get this to the client in time as it is and I simply am not able to do the necessary morph work in time on each individual file before I have to be done with this... thank you for taking the time to answer me, I hope I'm not screwed.
My Genesis 8 ears are square.I thought I bought some HD textures and morphs for Genesis 8 but I can't seem to locate them.Do you install your new stuff through Connect, DIM, or manually? And where are you looking? Check your Product Library page if you're not sure what you have.
I don't mean skin from another character but HD skin made specifically for Genesis 8.
A lot of characters have HD dials that accompany the other dial for a character, how do I get an HD dial for Genesis 8?
No such thing, you're looking at it the wrong way round. Textures and morphs — whether HD or not — for G8 characters are originally made to work on the G8 figure itself.
I turn up the HD dial and not much seems to happen to Genesis 8.
HD morphs are, as it says on the tin, "high" definition, they work because the polygons of the mesh are being subdivided. If you select a G8 figure in your scene, and look at the Parameters pane, General>Mesh Resolution, the Subdivision Level and Render SubD Level parameters set how many times it's subdivided.
You're not seeing any difference because the default value for the Viewport is 1, which is not enough to show an HD morph. Nudge this up to 3 or 4 (NOT ANY HIGHER!!!) and you should see what the HD morphs actually do.
Hexagon Displacement Brush ToolI've exported a G8 figure as an obj file at base resolution, and imported it into Hexagon in order to create a morph. I've selected the displacement brush tool, and... nothing.
1st, the tool properties panel is blank, so there are no adjustments I can make regarding size or strength. 2nd, the tool doesn't interact with the figure. How do I activate this tool?
This is essentially my first time with Hexagon. I don't see anything in the documentation, and online tutorials blow past setting up the tool as if it can be taken for granted. I'm sure it's simple but nothing I've clicked on is of help.
Open up the scene tab and select the figure. Tools will not function if nothing is selected.
For morphing, the smoothing brush and ballooning brush tend to work best. I usually put their strengths from about 5-7.
I hope you remembered to remove the eyelashes ;-)
If your export/import method doesn't work, try sending the figure over the bridge to Hexagon. And then back again to D/S over the bridge. Be sure that the Advanced Options for the Hexagon Bridge in D/S is selected. "reverse deformations" when making any morphs for the G3 and/or G8 figures.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 2 Male to Genesis 8 Male [Commercial]Sorry it's taken a while, but I've converted everything again, and I've added pictures to the thread to show you the results:
Minotaur 6 - Only the body morph was converted (no pic).
Reptilian 6 - Loading from the content Library was giving me Lucian 7. After Orso was converted, Orso was loading in via the Content Library. The morphs work.
Scott 6 - Converted with no problems. Nipples are a little lower on the G8M version. Loading from Content Library gives me Orso with that "Male" morph.
Orso - Two morphs created. One morph is for the head, and the other morphs head and body (the latter also controls the single head morph). It just looks like a "bigger" version of the G8M base.
Lilith 6 - Not a perfect conversion (like I've had with other conversions), but I'm pretty happy with how she's turned out. Content Library give me Lilith 6
My G2F OC - Would also be a good conversion, had it not been for the area around her eyes (I've never had a mesh deform like that before in any of the converters). Content Library gives me the base G8F model.
My G2M OC - Isn't looking too bad. I was seeing a problem with his top lip, but I think that's been sorted. Loading from content library gives me the G8M base figure.
Plus, Daz hasn't crashed at all, when I've closed the script.
I've added results from the G2F Converter too. I just wanted to show that things do work (although correcting my G2F OC's eyes has me stumped).
I'd say the script is working, but some results are "hit and miss".
Auto Shape Enhancer [Commercial]Hey! I'm sorry, but I need to ask this... the new update (I didn't realize it was so new or I would have held off) broke ALL of my files pending render because of a missing ribcage morph/file here: data/daz 3d/genesis 8/female/morphs/d.master/auto shape enhancer/rib cage.dsf
To make it worse, I can't find a morph now that does exactly what that did, which means my custom clothse to fit my character now doesn't fit right, and I either need to fix all of the files (20 of them) or I need to replace that missing file or find a morph taht does that same thing.
Please tell me that the changes inclue a ribcage morph that does the same thing? The dial for Auto Enhancer Rib Cage right now doesnt' seem to do anything...
DMasterPosts: 327 has the old ribcage.
What does this mean?
And did the update break the rib morph?

Ridiculously long loading time........So, if I understand correctly there exists a many-to-many relationship between morphs(shapes and poses) which are classified as sub-components(downstream dependencies) and controllers(upstream dependencies). And since this relationship is not maintained in a normalized fashion centrally, it necessitates scanning of all relevant morph file resources everytime a character is loaded. What if the building of that relationship graph for morphs could be centralized and normalized in the CMS itself in relational tables? Loading a character would trigger a one-way traversal of the graph and fetch only the relevant morphs (i.e. fetching only sub-components). We don't have to worry about loading all associated controllers unless that associated controller was explicitly added to the scene directly or as a sub-component of another explicitly added morph.
Creating the many-to-many dependency graph in the CMS could be triggered manually or automatically whenever new characters or morph packages are installed/uninstalled.
What about third-party content that doesn't come with metadata?
Slow loading of content, render issueFigures can be slow to load, depending on how many morph sets and so on you have installed - and also depending on whether there are any errors on loading.
If you CPU is always at 100% are you using the nVidia Iray preview mode, or the Aux Viewport with the 3Delight IPR turned on? Which version f Daz Studio are you using - see Help>About Daz Studio? What is your current driver version - right-click on Desktop>nVidia Control Panel?
More Non-photorealisitic Renders (NPR II)OK, 1st this is not the project I spoke of earlier. I'm still working on that.
Below is a quick IRAY render with no postwork, other than the white background. I would like some feedback if you please. Obviously, I can do a more toon version of this if I wanted. The male and female are both Sakura 8.
The questions are: What is the 1st thing that comes to mind when you see these characters? Are you turned off by the 3D nature of the render? Does the male character look like a dude? I also posted this in the Anime thread.

I like what I'm seeing here. The style is okay... but I would need to see it in context. Are you doing a comic or an illustrated story (text with accompanying illustrations)? I would need to see it to decide then if the style works for the intended purpose.
I like it, good start!
Looks a little like a cross between manga and western toon. The boy in particular reminds me a little bit of Dash from The Incredibles. The bodysuits remind me of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The boy does look male but he also looks very young to me, possibly prepubescent. It's a little awkward next to the girl and her adult chest.
If they are meant to have a pronounced age difference maybe make the girl a little taller than him.
I'm not bothered at all by the "3D-ness" of it all, in fact I think it's a really nice balance. Also with that toon-ish hair, I wonder how you achieved that?
I agree completely with Hylas: He looks young and she looks a lot more mature than him. Suggestions:
- Make her chest smaller.
- Can you make his red chest plate white like the rest of his uniform? This would de-emphasise his chest and probably make him look more authoritatively male.
On the other hand, Changing his chest plate might not help and it might make him look too different from her. I'm not sure. But I do think it is worth looking at. Also, could you try to add a little more body to her hair? It actually looks a little flat.
I was thinking about doing some short mecha-related comic strips with these 2, to practice for my other graphic novel idea.
I already made her chest smaller. I guess I was basing her off a teen character on Macross Frontier that had a big chest too. I just finished watching it, so it's fresh in my head. I'm trying to compare this male version of Sakura 8 with Hiro 5 who I have used in the past for anime guys. I could make his chest white, yes. The problem with this guy is he is based off a female chracter, so I can't use any male morphs with him. I can make her hair wider.
Let me explain my motivation in a little more detail. Doing IRAY is easier than my usual NPR style. Don't get me wrong, I love the NPR style I've developed, but it's a little time consuming. It would be easier to do a short strip with IRAY to practice paneling, text bubles, story...etc. I still want an NPR look to it (many newly released anime have used 3D with different results). Also, if everyone hates the look, I feel I'll get less feedback on the paneling/text bubles/story and too much on the art style. That being said, I rarely read a comic if I hate the art style LOL!
I like the IRAY version of this. Anime is, especially mecha style, looks good in 3d. I'm not sure about changing the chest plate color to white, I think it would make the character to washed out. I'm thinking of Popeye in his original clothes vs the all white uniform he wore for a while in the forties.
I think he looks male enough, as is, but is it possible to do morph transfers from Genesis 8 male to Genesis 8 female?
I originally made his armor white and I felt it was washed out. I can make it black but that is boring. I don't know about the morph question.
Some anime done in 3D looks good and some doesn't Milage varies. I could tell the new Ultraman was 3D but after awhile, it didn't matter. With, Robotech the Shadow Chronicles, some parts looked great and others not so much. The space battles looked like bad 3D compared to the original anime. The Dragon Prince looked good, but Star Wars Resistance, not so much (Western Anime). The new Altered Carbon anime looked like a Tell Tales video game. It was ok though. I just finished watching Marcross Frontier and I can tell the alien enemies are 3D (well done), but I can't tell anywhere else. Quality matters since I grew up on old school anime. I liked Gundam00 and Iron Blooded Orphans. If they used 3D, it wasn't obvious. Anyway I digress.
Ridiculously long loading time........The long load times are down to nastier errors, basically they are causing DS to go "not responding", the more of these you have the longer it takes DS to recover, add in a boat load of the other errors to slow down DS and your computer, and it's no wonder some are talking about 30 minute load times..Main problem here is despite all the people complaining about long load times, they don't come back and shown their log file, so even I have no idea WTF is causing them although I do have some suspicions. Three "Failed to create alias" has locked up DS for 4 minutes for one user, problem here is the log doesn't tell which alias file it crapped out on.
Does someone know how to fix the "Failed to create alias" respectively how to identify the responsible file ?

DUF file creation for clothsHello,
I created sandals for Genesis 8 Female, with Blender.
I imported the collada file into Daz Studio and then I used Transfer Utility.
The sandals adjust correctly to the body and its transformations. Everything is perfect.
But then I created a DUF file to be able to use these sandals from my Content Library.
And there I noticed that theses sandals, created with this DUF file, were not modified when the legs are changed.

Dragon Age ItemsI'm not sure this will be possible due to copyright laws, but if it is possible, or if there is some way to name them in a way that wouldn't infringe the laws or something, I'd like to see some items that are unique to the Dragon Age (DA) universe, including, but not limited to:
- Vallaslin in the different varieties (from all games) and a color wheel to be able to make it a custom color like in the games
- Other tattoos unique to DA, such as those seen on
- Knight Captain Rylen
- Zevran
- Fenris
- Iron Bull
- Other Qunari
- etc
- Actual Qunari morph or something where you could customize the horns and stuff
- Unique Heraldry on clothing and stuff, such as
- Templar armor
- Mage Robes
- Chantry Robes
- Etc
- Clothes that are unique to the DA universe, such as
- Clothes that the playable characters wear in certain areas (usually when not in the field), such as
- The clothes Hawke wears in the Amell/Hawke Estate
- The "Skyhold Pajamas", as the fandom likes to call them, which would include the Winter Palace attire.
- Maybe even some of the mod options
- Not really clothes, but some/all of the hairstyles would be nice too.
- Clothes that the playable characters wear in certain areas (usually when not in the field), such as
- Backgrounds and stuff that looks like the games/movie/other images and stuff
- Maybe even a preset character for each of the companions and advisors of the games and main characters of the movie (I mostly am talking about Regalyan (Galyan) D'Marcall for the movie one)? This would include all of their clothes and weapons/accessories.
- Dragons, or at least a tint or morph of the current dragon figure that makes it look like one of the dragons from the games (this would also include the Archdemon from Origins)
- Golems (including a morph for Shale)
- Darkspawn
- Mabari
- Nugs (both the pink and chocolate varieties)
- Other animals seen in the games/movies/other content
- Many more things that I just couldn't come up with off the top of my head.
These could also be put into bundles so those of us who want all of the Dragon Age stuff could easily get them, at possibly a lower price.
Please note that these are just ideas, and I completely understand if it just can't be done due to copyright laws or for whatever reason it may be. Below are some links that might help with ideas: the Dragon Age Wiki and the pages for the clothing mods
Thank you for the consideration!
Ridiculously long loading time........Even I mix a lot of morphs in my characters. Instead of searching for those morphs in the parameters pane (for which we are paying with loadtime latency), with injection based morphs the same morph search can be done in the content library just like any other content so long as their metadata is available in the CMS. Statistically speaking, even if I combine 50 morph dials to define my character that would be less than 2% of all the morphs that are getting preloaded while loading each character in the scene. While the current approach works if one has only a few morph sets or characters installed, but it does not scale up with increasing number of morphs, expressions and characters that are being incrementally installed over a period of time. The approach for preloading every applicable morph unnecessarily is against the software engineering best practices such as YAGNI (you aren't gonna need it) and in this case, we are paying the technical debt of increased load times for not following it.
Even if you consider the tiny additional delay of searching and adding injection morphs from the content library compared to directly dialing them in the parameters pane, the one-time delay more than pays for itself considering how many times a scene gets reloaded during its entire lifecycle spanning several days or even weeks of work.
Injection poses, at least as implemented in Victoria 4 etc., still need to load the channel list and ERC links for them (for exactly the same reason as the Genesis figures do) and they are still slit across multiple files (all those pz2s in /Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ/Victoria 4/ etc.).
Can you help me understand the reason why there is a need to preload the channel list if not for populating the parameters pane while loading a character? The existing injection implemention in V4 generation may not be the ideal approach to tackle this, but injection, as in on-demand loading of morphs is still there within tools like the Morphloader.
Converting a G3 character to G8This thread is maybe ~1year old but... i found some:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/278876/utilities-for-converting-g3-figures-to-g8-figures
I wanna convert those cuties into G8:
https://www.daz3d.com/little-ones-mega-bundle-for-genesis-3
Is today somewhere a product which I can buy to that?
As I wrote (I think yesterday) here:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/403686/working-with-g3-problems
I played the first time with G3 and it is horrible... I am very happy I joined daz3d at the right time, with good iray, good filled store and good G8 ^^.
So... Is there a way?
And I think I asked this somewhere too, is there some good way to convert Female to male? I found some cute chars but they are all Female (females seems tog et much more attention+love as males...) mainly from Renderosity. Like the Sixus1 baby, very cute but female base.
Thanks :)
The Mac FAQThe last render I did with DS went very quickly. In the Render Settings tab, it does show several choices. I'll include a Screen Shot of the choices. I had it set to iRay.
When I clicked Save for the File Itself (not the render), DS Quit again. I have restarted it, and it appears that it did save the file. I just clicked Save again. It appears to have saved and quickly. It did not quit. In the Log File, I still see the warnings, but it does acknowledge that it saved the file. Here's a copy of the last part of the Log File:

2020-04-30 12:24:16.861 Saved image: /Users/s/Desktop/Latest Poser n DAZ Studio Files/Min Joon and Roy_TEST 2 for Poser FUsion.duf.pngDaz Studio 4.12 Pro, General Release! (*UPDATED*)This is confusing to me and seems like a bug. It contributes to the "timeline is broken" feeling.
I have Keyframe Types set to TRSOAH (all types).
- I create a new scene.
- I load G8F. The timeline shows a keyframe triangle at time 0.
- I move the time to frame 15 and morph G8F (I drag the Victoria 8 body Parameters pane slider to 100%)
- I play the animation, and it shows G8F changing from base shape to V8 body shape, as expected.
- At the end of playing the animation, the time is set back to frame 0.
- I save the scene file.
- I reopen the saved scene file.
- The keyframe on frame 15 is missing. I play the animation and nothing happens; G8F does not morph to Victoria 8 body anymore.
I try again (same scenario, except the time is on frame 15 when I save the file instead of on frame 0)
- At the end of playing the animation, I set the time to frame 15, to verify that she truly is in the Victoria 8 body shape (she is).
- I save the scene file.
- I reopen the saved scene file.
- The keyframe on frame 15 is missing. But G8F is in the Victoria 8 body shape in keyframe 0! I play the animation. Nothing happens.
I will submit a help request, of course.
