Make Daz Central install to D drive?
I can't figure out how to specify the install path for products installed via Daz Central. It always goes to the C: drive
Is it even possible?

Smart Content depends on the database, did you back up the old database (with Daz Studio, Install managers, Central, Carrara closed) and restore it on the new system?
Wheer is the My Library folder, and have you added that location under Daz Studio Formats?
I can still access all the HDD files from the SDD windows I'm running on, so yes, everything is in place. I just want to link my HDD daz files to the SDD daz, the only thing that wokred is the My daz3d library. How can I restore the database?

Hi Felis.

Which do you use DIM or DAZ Central? If DAZ Central, do you like it?
I prefer DIM.
Daz Central is intended new users, which means it has fewer options. And there have been numerous horror stories of how Daz Central has messed up previously installations.
Thanks for your thoughts on this Kid.
I wonder what the popular opinion is on this.
Reading about Central I see it organizes your library - or so it says. I like the sound of that because I hate having to hunt high and low to find what I want in DS 4.12.

Requirements for Genesis 8.1Hi Felis.
After quite a bit of looking I figured out how to download the beta version of DS and just opened it.
Cool thing is it found my external library (on my F drive) and offered to link to it. COOL!
I do not see the essentials listed in the DIM so I am wondering if I updated it a while back without thinking about it.

Requirements for Genesis 8.1I don't think I would recommend a suite - if you like DIM - because that would most likely give you Daz Central.
Richard suggested the beta. If you "buy" that from the store (it is prices 0) you can find it in DIM, but has to enable Public builds in the filtre.
But anyway, if you don't already have the newest build I am surprised that that isn't available under updates. What does your DIM look like?

Oh. How can I find DS 4.15.0.2 and the updated Essentials?
If you use Install Manager or Daz Central (or Daz Studio itself for content installation) they will show as available updates, if you don't have them already. otherwise just redownload and reinstall.
PostgreSQR application files? Where do they Live?Just to be sure my description is clear, task manager is like this and when you scroll down there is no trace of postgreSQL if DS is running? How about if Install Manager or Daz Central are running?
Can Daz3d leave the Product page on the site even if the product itself is removed?Richard Haseltine said:
If you let DS go online to get the emtadata for the products (or if you installed things through DIM/Daz Central and don't want to search things thata re not installed) the Products tab of Smart Content should help - most should, for example, be tagged with the PA name.
Thank you I didn't know this. It can be a work around, although it is far less information than the product page.

Can Daz3d leave the Product page on the site even if the product itself is removed?Hi,
Recently I discovered that some product I purchased is removed from the store. Of course I can still access them in my product library, however the "Product Library" page on the website is horrible. The content there is not organized, the sort feature is extremely primitive. This is the same situation with the Daz Central or DIM. They are not meant for browsing, searching in your content library.
I usually use the store as the place where I browse my purchased content, by using the "Only show owned" checkbox (I think this feature is available with the Daz Deal Plugin). I can search, browse by category (genre) easily. In each product page I can find all the information as well as promo image in large size to get inspired, and I can quickly go to the DIM to download the content. It is simply the best way to browse content, even better than inside daz studio.
My question is, is there anyway I can access that product page, or have the same browsing experience after the product is removed from the store? I understand there will be a limitation to what Daz3d can do to a removed product, but maybe an upgrade product info page would be nice. Or maybe update Daz Central so it becomes a tool to browse content easily with category, genre info, and maybe one-click loading product in Daz Studio. That would be awesome.
Best regards,
Minh
Introducing the Daz to Blender Bridge & native Blender File FormatsLothar Weber said:
Version 2 of the plugin is doing nothing since i updated in Studio beta and blender 2.9.
You need to update the add-on in Blender, following the instructions at the bottom of the product page:
Thought I did that... mmmh need to try that tomorrow again, maybe I did something wrong...

Did it work? I have the same problem... installed the latest version from daz central but when I import in Blender its empty... it says version in Blender for the add on is 2.4.0...
EDIT: It seems a restart to the system is necessary... Im installed and uninstalled the bridge from Install Manager and the same error happened. Them, I uninstalled, restarted the PC and installed again and voilá! everything working correctly with the import.
Why did my DE Binah Item, Order Number, everything disappear last week?@PerttiA @margrave
I did install and see her in action. However, I recently upgraded from a old GTX 1060 computer to a brand new RTX 3060 computer. I am on a new computer now. Now that I think about it, I never saw her on my new computer. I have been using both computers simultaneously until I decided to do Daz only on the new computer. At which point, I wiped the old computer of all Daz installation and other 3D software and games.
The more I thnk about it, the more I realized, I never saw her on Daz Central, or the Library or anywhere online in my accounts after the first few days of getting it. I think the freebie was given by accident, they took it off the library. But, I already installed it so it was available on my (now old) computer. Then, I moved to a new computer and she was already yanked from my account, so I never installed it.
God, it's almost like i am solving a missing asset case, he he :PDaz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.15.0.30! (*UPDATED*)Is this the version that's suppossed to work on Mac Big Sur? Regardless, I can't install it because I installed Daz Central and it crashes on me every time I try and use it, so I uninstalled it. And when I try and use DIM, it says it needs to be updated, but I can't find where to update it. Any suggestions?
Problems With Missing RendersHabatchii said:
My problem is the renderr seems to contain bugs. When the renderer function is selected, the save file menu window pops up. If a location is selected, the renderer will run its complete cycle, but the rendered file is not written. It seems as if the DAZ Central source version is corrupt. I needed to know about memory and the Render Library; is there a tab for adjusting memory allocation?
What are your Render Settings, in the General section under the Editor tab? What are you selecting as the save location?
Problems With Missing RendersI find Daz Central subpar, which is why I use Daz Install Manager instead. So it's possible you have a corrupt install, in which case I'd recommend uninstalling and using DIM instead.
Before you do that, what does your log file say? It's under the Help menu, under Troubleshooting, IIRC.

Several scripts are giving me a "error opening file" messageContent Wizard needs to be installed via DIM, It fails to work when installed by Daz Central or Daz Connect. RiversoftArt is aware of this but as of yet hasn't found a solution
Bad first impression (and how to fix it)Thank you for the tip with Daz Install Manager. I'll give it a try!
As for the screen, it launches on the secondary screen. I don't know why, because I start it from the primary screen and Central is running on the primary. Now it will start on the primary screen as expected but the pop ups are still on the secondary screen (like the rendering pop up).
edit: I tried to install it on a second system (also 2 monitors) but this time with install manager. This time, I didn't have any of the issues that I had the first time with central. Perhaps the issues came from central not from studio? This time, I could choose the install location before studio installed and it opened on the main screen. There also was no issue with the layout (blank screen). Looks like install manager is the way to go. Additionally, I could preselect assets that I then didn't need to download from within studio. Like the genesis assets.
