You mean that these functions could be private?

In that case, I believe my best option would be to locate the combo box widget and pass variables to it directly. Maybe use a general approach to loop thorough all QObjects till I locate this one (not sure if this is even possible).

I have tried looking into the Face Transfer script files but they seem to be encrypted. Makes sense, since there is a free and unlimited version of this plug-in. Will purchasing the interactive license give me access to the plug-in's source code? I have read the description of the interactive license but it seems vague to me, not really sure what it unlocks.

    If however,

You want to create an experience where someone can alter what is happening, such as an application or a video game that changes depending on what the user does, then such things will generally require access to information about the 3D assets so that it can move them around, alter them, and generally manipulate them to change the user experience.

Not sure if this means access to the source code or something else.

  • Street Rat for G8M [commercial]

Been waiting since '04, another month won't hurt. :)  (the genesis mouse was a valiant effort but difficult to clothe even with the dressable morph. Limits of the tech back then I suppose. Genesis was a breakthrough but I recall the difficulties with distortion in female clothing since it also had to fit male morphs. :)

Picked up the Street Rat so I can have a variety of rodent people. :)

  • Tara 8 bundle

That's what I did on my Daisy skin render with Tara morph, just turn down the Sub-D and the scar almost entirely disappears

Looking over her normal maps and HD shape, Tara's normal maps essentially mirror her HD shape to a T. If you turn the mesh down to subd 2 and use the edited normal for the HD look there will be no scar. IMO, her normals and HD are kind of redundant to be used at the same time since they are the same. You only need one or the other, not both. It is nice to have the option.

I didn't say it was gross, but it is over the top. It would look strange on most other situations, like if somebody didn't want to use in fantasy. Just a girl in an office or something.

  • Help - Marvelous Designer to Daz3d

Tshirts should work with default templates.

I think the character you are using is probably shorter than the normal G8M.

I think if you are using a morphed character (like that) in transfer utility, there are some settings you need to change in the Transfer Utility tool.

Reverse Source Shape from Target - If using a different shape for projection other than the default shape, this option will reverse the Source Shape from the Target Item, resulting in the clothing fitting back to the default Source Shape.

  • Problem running Goz after upgrading to ZBrush 2021

if any of you have upgraded Zbrush to Version 2021 and you can no longer use GoZ then this did the trick for me. Note I'm using a 64 bit Windows 10 system, DAZ 4.12.1.117 Pro 64 bit and ZBrush 2021.1.1 (There was an update available immediately after I did the first install of 2021.)

    ----

    1)Navigate to "C:\Program Files\Pixologic\ZBrush 2021\Troubleshoot Help"

If you have installed ZBrush in a non default location, you will have to navigate there instead.

    -----

2)There is a "TroubleShootHelpFile.txt" in this folder. Read the first paragraph, i.e. :-

"If you are unable to launch ZBrush in your system, you may need to launch the included vcredist.exe in order to install needed windows plugins."

If you are running a 64 bit system  then  you need to run the one named "VC_redist.x64.exe" .

This reinstalls the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 64 bit magic spells. It may take a while.

As far as I can tell you can ignore the rest of the helpfile i.e. all of the stuff about DEP. I didn't need it.

    -----

3)Run the "GoZ_for_ZBrush_Installer_WIN.exe". Please note that there is a file called "GoZ_for_ZBrush_Installer_WIN_3DSMax_Legacy.exe". Make sure you run the right one.

    -----

    4) Run ZBrush. From the "Preferences" menu open the GoZ section , clear cache files, check the path to Daz (mine was okay)

    -----

    5) Try it out by running Daz and sending something to ZBrush. It should find its way there.  Create a morph and then send it back to Daz (Tools Menu/GoZ) to make sure it finds its way back properly.

    -----

    This worked for me.

  • Micropressure morphs.
Pose the model how you want it. Then only have the model selected and the hip. Then export with daz standard presets and import back right away.

so basically youre just using a highly subdivided obj, which is an export of your static model.  This approach wont allow functional morphs to be creaed for Daz characters (unless youre a PA and can import HD morphs).  But the approach is definitely an option for people who have finalised their pose and only need the morph for one scene etc.

People could just use Mesh Grabber in Daz, theoretically. They dont need to go to an external program.

  • Micropressure morphs.
Zbrush folks... that your answer. If you want to work in high detail in zbush male sure you keep thr model on high detail and view subd too subd 2 or 3 and make sure you on have the models selected. No hair and other items. This means also no eyelashes and no earings or piercings. Just the model. You can have clothing fitted to your needs but make it invisible. Deseleted. Pose the model how you want it. Then only have the model selected and the hip. Then export with daz standard presets and import back right away. Move the clothing (for example brah) over to the static imported model and deselect everything else in the scene. Then with the static model only visible and the clothing goz to zbrush. Load it in zbrush. Make sure both clothing and static morph in zbush are able to go back to daz by hitting the goz button in zbrush if all works out you should be able to see the "add morph" window in daz... cancel it. Go back to zbrush and start your morphing with the move topology tool, damstandard brush, formbrush and smoothing brush. When done... use goz in zbrush. Give the morph a name for either clothing or model and then under zbrush parameter tab set the morph too 100%. If the surfaces dont look good then copy them over from the original model ... tadaaaa there you have your highly detailed presure morph in a nutshell.

  • The Guy 8

I too am slightly irritated that The Girl 8 doesn't have a male counter part... but we do have The Guy 8 already in all but name. There's Toon Hero, there's Miguel (who looks decent without Diego), and you can transfer The Guy 7 to G8. There's also Brandon, who looks a little wonky without Dwayne but a little bit of dial spinning will solve that.

As for the (hawt!) pictures you posted above, I think SithLordSims' Yuji (available at Renderosity) will get you closer to your goal. Mix him with any of the guys mentioned above.

Duh! I never thought about the extra page(s). I'm so used to just one lol.

    Thanks.

    I know right?

There's a LOT of materials lol. I just finished making some folders and separating everything by item so I don't get lost in them all haha

call hitgirl though there is a character called that. Thought of an idea if that dress had an open morph you could do a scene of her taking it off to reveal the top outfit though you probably wouldn't be able to post that here at least not in the galleries. Was thinking of something like that myself for a Supergirl type render you know where she rips open her shirt to reveal her costume but thought against it for here don't think they'd allow a Superman one either even though you see it in every superman/girl movie/show/cartoon and some other heros too

  • Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.12.2.60! (*UPDATED*)

So, as of now if I can't even get the DAZ 4.12.0.86 older version, I'm stuck not being to use DAZ for morph animations?  I know DAZ is not an animation program, but this makes it almosty impossible for me to do facial animations with it..   I can save shaping presets per character but that's a pretty inconvenient way to work.    Funny thing is the default daz facial morphs DO save without problem.. and if you look inside parameters tab for the default daz morphs, it's named as Modifier/Pose under Posing tab...    So I tried changing my morphs to Modifier/Pose (instead of Modifier/Shape) and tried saving it and still no luck.

If anyone has figured out a way to save morphs in timeline please post it here.. it would be a life saver!

    thanks

    How about Geo-shells

In my hunt for treasures I have come across many 2ndskin outfits. They are very cool, like the red and black latex outfit by Dirk Holzenhauer for V3 over at Rendero. But you are kind of stuck with the skin texture that comes with the images provided by the artist. That is okay but there are times when I like to mix it up. So last year I played around with using a geo shell and modifying the textures to only show the clothing part of the texture. This gave me the ability to use what ever skin texture I want on my character. Here is an example of what I got using the geo shell and modified texture.

You can obtain the 2ndskin by Cris Galvao called Zinax for V2 here: http://crisgalvao.free.fr/downloadsB.html
Victoria has the Serenity texture from Froglace Studios here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070104211119/http://froglace.com/poser/index.htm?id=freeposer_wolfrose.inc

Since then the artist Mystic Art Design did some work on G8F using the Layered Image Editor. It is an amazing freebie, Mystical Flower, with several options for bikinis and facial adornments. Her efforts center around using displacement to make the adornments work but you have to be careful with tiling. But that got me to thinking about the work on the geo shell bodysuits from last year. So I set out to figure out how Mystic Art Design did her work. When you look at her displacement files they are the typical grey scale with midway being the 127,127,127 color. But they were very percise. sharp edges, fine detail so to my thinking these files were generated by computer. So I did some digging. I knew I had seen these types of files before. Then it hit me. Splitting out channels. Photoshop and Paintshop Pro have been able to split out the HSL, the RGB or the CMYK images for a particular image for as long as I can remember. So I experimented with MAD's images and although not exact and not as good I came up with something similar. Well woopietdo! Over the first hurdle. To continue the experiment I selected a freebie by Ashpash. She called this series of textures as the Orange, Pink, and Yellow Flower Fairies (See list below render for the link to the Orange Flower Fairy). As was normal for the time the body decoration was applied to one of Ashpash's skins. I set out to make the bodysuit. It was tedious work. I am sure that our texture experts would come by and say oh yea just do this and that and you are done but I am of the older generation now and slow but I get it done. Here are the steps I took to get the files I needed to make the geo-shell bodysuit.

    1. Bring the texture file into Paint Shop Pro. Remove everything but the body design from the image. This is the diffuse layer. Save out as your diffuse image.
    2. Create 2 new layers that will be used for the transparency and displacement maps for the geo-schell. Select all the areas outside of the body images. In these areas fill one layer with black (0,0,0) and the other layer with mid grey (127,127,127).
    3. Invert the selection of the diffuse layer and on the layer that you filled with black fill the new selection with white. The transmap image is complete. Save out your black and white image as your transmap.
    4. To create the displacement map,  Make the transmap layer invisible and merge the remaining 2 layers, the diffuse and mid grey layer. Apply the HSL channel split action to the newly merged layer. The lightness image is your displacement map. Save it.

The next steps are to set up the geo-shell materials.
    1. If your figure is not subd then make it so. Create the geo-shell.
    2. In the surfaces tab for the geo-shell, make all of the materials that are not affected by the body art to invisible. In my example all of the material to do with the head, eyes, lips, and eyebrows were set to zero in the cutout parameter.
    3. The geo-shell only has one material zone for the entire body. So in the diffuse parameter I put the diffuse image. In the cutout parameter I put the trans map and in the displacement parameter I put the displacement map.

For the below bodysuit (geo-shell) in the image below, my values were 1.5 for strength. -0.25, 0.25 subd was 7. I also bumped up the space between the geo-shell and V2 to 0.40 to make sure the geo-shell stayed on top.

    And on that here is:

  • How to apply G8M rigging to the hidden clones?
Hi, dummy question here. I tried to make a G8M character more interesting so I dialled in the hidden clones available. I know there are rigging issues when using clones because the bones are different so I tried to turn on the joint editor to adjust rigging to shape, but it didn't work. Did I miss something? Thanks!

By your comment, it appears that you have dialed in more than 1 hidden clone. It doesn't work that way ;-)

After dialing in several morphs, you would need to make "one morph" from them using your modeler. After bringing it back into D/S to make the morph, then adjust the rigging. Remember to use the ERC freeze afterwards and turn it back to zero before saving.

Hi Catherine, thanks for your tips! Actually I just dialled one hidden clone to 100% at a time... do you suggest I directly exporting the dialled character (at G8M zero pose) as obj, then useing morph loader pro to apply it to a default G8M, then adjusting rigging to shape and ERC freeze? Thank you in advance

  • Tara 8 bundle

I used GIMP as I don't have PS. I loaded up the face texture, then a 2nd layer of the face texture. Flip one of the layers, and use a combo of the clone and heal tools to blend the flipped layer into the first. I did not want it to be perfectly mirrored, so I altered it a bit further. You could also just use a part of the face nearby the scar, there are lots of ways to do it.

You will need to do this for all the face textures, there are 4 in total. The scar is present on them all. If you leave the bump and normal maps alone the face will still have the topography of the scar there.

I don't have an issue with the scar which is part of the morph, and changing the bump and normal won't get rid of it entirely as you can see in the images I just posted.  And even the wound isn't all that grotesque.  I'd just wish there had been a version without the wound, because the skin is quite nice otherwise.

Okay, guys, here's another update to my Naomi Scott morph.  Thank you all so much for all the feedback so far! I owe much of the recent improvements to you.  First, we have my pose/lighting/expression recreation, then we have a 30-degree neutral portrait, first with and then without make-up.  The neutral portraits lack a few custom-tailored texture edits that I made strictly for the recreation, since my priority is the shaping.  Thoughts?

    Thanks that info helped.

It looks like the main issue for the scaling problem was that I needed to export the clothes from Marvelous using the cm Daz option. For all other importing and exporting steps between the programs I think choosing the default options was what  worked

So now the shirt is coming in perfectly into Daz

But  look what happens when I apply the Transfer Utility lol

I'm guessing I need to have a Shirt Projection Template so it knows what to do with the shirt model?

  • [Released] Expression Mixer

The expressions that are created, how can they appear in the PARAMETERS tab?, since I am thinking of buying this product to create new MORPHS, which daz recognizes as morphs

They will appear as percentages of the expressions that you mixed. That could be a lot of entries, because some of the expressions you chose to mix might be combinations of other dials already. Keep in mind that you can't legally combine someone else's morphs into a single morph and sell it as your own.

Thanks @barbult!  What she said.  laugh  They set existing parameters' percentages.

Yes, I found the agentunawares addon recently. It's a possible solution. I've been testing it and the G3M morph from male to female is better than G3F from female to male, in my opinion.
The Genesis 3 Cross-Figure Resource Kit is just for adjusting clothes, right?
