Has anyone else had the update mess up their previous DAZ Studio?
BETAS CANNOT BE INSTALLED WITH DAZ CENTRAL, USE DIM.

I also experienced this recently the other way: assets, which I couldn't install with DIM, but that could be installed without any problem from inside DAZ.
Installing products inside DS, when you are also doing installations with DIM/DAZ Connect/Manual installation, is one way to mess up your content libraries and it will also fill up your storage devices as everything is installed twice in completely different locations.
I assume you mean Daz Central? You are correct that using one of those methods and Daz Connect (which is the through Daz Studio one) will duplicate files, but it certainly shouldn't have any other deleterious effects.

On my macOS Big Sur 11.5, sorry to say that I downloaded the Beta Daz3D and Daz Central, and where the Daz Central seems to be working, Daz3D refuses to engage and open. Thoughts?
Thanks!
You can’t install betas with Daz Central, only with DIM. So my guess would be that you didn’t install the latest beta but the latest release version, which doesn’t work with Big Sur.

Wish I had the patience to set up so many figures
Actually, those are the Now-Crowd Barbarians using the Now-Crowd Utilities to make a nice crowd (they still need manually positioning a bit to avoid the scenery and the scripts to change the angle but it really makes this kind of scene easy. That way I can focus more on the central figure). Got another one brewing with just the giant and hobgoblin. Then I'll try out the frost + rock giants at weekend (if I've time, things keep piling up).

Based on what you wrote, you have not installed the beta version but the released version DS 4.15.02 that does not work on BigSur.
Have you 'purchased' the beta version?
https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-betaThat page includes installation istructions as well.

Has anyone else had the update mess up their previous DAZ Studio? My every attempt to update DAZ Studio through DAZ Central results in failure and an error message telling me that the procedure cannot continue. All I can do, and I've done this at least twice, is use Windows Control Panel to uninstall DAZ Studio and then use DAZ Central to install the new version. That works, and I find all my content is right where it should be. Please note however that I do not use DAZ Central to install content. I always manually install my content. Further, my content folders are external to the DAZ Studio installation so uninstalling the program doesn't have any effect on my content.
DAZ Central - M1 Mac Big Sur - anyone having any luckSo my email looks like the image below, and if I click on the link that says "Get the latest beta release," (highlighted in red), it takes me to DAZ central. Is that the email you have?
DAZ Central - M1 Mac Big Sur - anyone having any luckHow weird. I have this email here in front of me and it tells you to use DIM, it hat this great big clickable button that gets you to another great big clickable button you can download DIM from. You actually have to scroll down on that page and click on one of the DAZ Central ads instead to get DAZ Central.
DAZ Central - M1 Mac Big Sur - anyone having any luckI just clicked the link on the email from DAZ that said DAZ Studio compatible with Mac OS Big Sur and M1 Macs.
It took me to the DAZ Central and said download this. I did, and wound up with this issue. I haven't paid much attention to DAZ while it wouldn't run on my system.
Thanks for pointing me to the Beta, now I can open Studio (but it cant find the content that is RIGHT THERE Arrrgghhhhhh!)
But you're right. It was foolishly naive of me, thinking the link that anounced Mac OS Big Sur Compatibility would take me to the application that was Big Sur compatible. You know you've spent too much time on a Mac when you just expect things to work. I don't even wash dishes before putting them in the dishwasher anymore. I just expect them to come out clean. If I get to the point where I think a smart home will actually work, I will seek out a therapist.

I have been told Central cannot install beta versions, for that you need DIM.
That is correct
DAZ Central - M1 Mac Big Sur - anyone having any luckDaz Central does not install betas anyway, so yes you need to use Install Manager. https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/

@Kainjy: sì esatto: ma non mi compare in nessun caso l'autofit.
@Imago: Tramite DIM. Daz Central li riporta, ma se si prova a lanciarli da lì dice più o meno: "The product has not been found".

DAZ Central - M1 Mac Big Sur - anyone having any luckWhere did you read that DAZ Central had been updated?
DIM was updated to work on BigSur to allow downloading and installation of the DS beta (which you still have to 'buy')
DAZ Central - M1 Mac Big Sur - anyone having any luckI was so excited to get the email "Mac is back"
I went to download DAZ Central onto my M1 mini (16GB). I was a bit miffed that I had to log in to DAZ3d, then log in while logged in to download DAZ Central using the credentials I was already logged in with, but that's in the past. DAZ is back on the Mac. Then I could download the software so that I could download the software that would download the software to my Mac. Finally.
Now I could run the software that would run the software on my mac (does any of this seem a tad convoluted to anyone but me)?
Only, it doesn't seem to work. The only thing I can render is in the "Force quit Application Window" which shows DAZ Central (not responding).
I tried updating all my plugins.
I tried rebooting.
There really isn't much else. There is only the one processor, operating system, and video card on an M1 system. The only other RAM option is lower. I have plenty of storage space. So, what is the trick to get this to work?

Come li hai installati? DIM, Daz Central o Daz Connect?

You can change the install locations in "Settings" (cogwheel in top right corner of screen).
(Don't forget to change the path in the settings in DS as well!)
Anything I install through Central goes to C:\Daz 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library
I don't even have an install path except for DIM and Photshop
Back to Basics Tutorials Installing DS4 and moreSorry, I wrote Daz Connect, meant Daz Central. I've worked around it by manually moving anything I install through Daz Central.
