No Anatomical Elements?
If you want to get good and realistic looking anatomy you're usually better off going to 3rd party websites, Renderotica being one of them.
The problem is that while you do indeed get anatomy additions when you buy a Pro bundle, this doesn't guarantee that it will also work with your character(s). It's an add-on after all and there are plenty of publishing artists who don't bother with texturizing this.
This doesn't apply to Victoria 8 btw, the "All maps" material preset also includes textures for the add-on.
Toon SantaThanks very much but I get an error warning.
I am using G8 male and Toon Santa and your script G8Fpos to GV3

If you have a suitable pose in G8F/M format then I have done a freebie pose transfer script that does G8 to A3/V3/H3/M3 transfer if that's any use. Apply the pose to a G8 character, use the correct transfer script and the Generation 3 character will have a similar pose. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/446941/g8f-pose-transfer-to-aiko-3-victoria-3-gv3 . G8M to M3 work with the script even though not mentioned. Regards, Richard
Thank you very much. Will try it...

Anatomical Elements are in the "Genesis 9 Starter Essentials Expansion" product from DAZ.
Which wouldn't be helpful for the OP, who is using Victoria 8.

I'm honestly not sure what to do with this, now that I've seen it. Victoria 9 looks more or less "normal?" That is, it looks how you'd expect a regular Daz character to look? But Genesis 9 looks more like a base mesh you'd use to start sculpting a Daz character. I don't see how it's useable for any purpose out-of-the-box. Maybe it plays nicely with clothing, or something, due to the simplicity of the mesh? But we won't really know that until people have used it extensively. I've heard the facial expressions are better than Genesis 8, but I'm still learning 8.1, so can't personally confirm.
Final answer: wait and see.

G9 is really not supposed to be used out-of-the-box. :) Its a genderless base that is optimised to work as efficient as possible for both male and female genders, as well as any other shape users want to make.
A base model cannot have features that are too strong, or it will make it hard to change the look of a character - anyone remember the first Michael morphs? It took an extreme effort to make the face look like anything other than Michael. Having a base that's easy to sculpt, change and morph helps to give variety to gene pool.

Thank you for all of this, especially the links to Genesis 3 items!Getting on the 9 train, or notI'm honestly not sure what to do with this, now that I've seen it. Genesis 9 Males?I don't remember the gaps for previous generations, but for Michael 8 he cam almost three months after Victoria 8. No clue if the time will be cut down due to the single base mesh, but it's not unusual for there to be a sizable gap between the two.

Is there any way to disable the giant flashing black and white video on the main page before we log in? Asking for a friend.
This type of UX design can literally kill people at random. And on top of that, it doesn't even make the models look good. Just fix it the cheap and easy and obvious way.
And maybe next time you launch a new marketing campaign, consider displaying the features of the content in a way that actually gives your users time to appreciate them. Steadly lighting. Sustained shots. Focus on one element at a time. Basically advertising 101. I don't understand why you decided this cacophonic nightmare needed to be the world's first introduction to Victoria 9 and, for some users, your storefront as a whole.
TL;DR: Blinking a light on and off under your model's chin while their face fills the whole screen like this isn't just dangerous, it's also bad marketing.
I was going to ask "What giant flashy thing" then I went to the home page and noticed there was a "play" button on the imbedded video.
I use Firefox and have the "Autoplay" setting set to "Default for all websites: BLOCK AUDIO AND VIDEO". Hopefully other browsers will have a similar setting. That should make general browsing safer for people sensitive to the dancing head-shaker nonsense.

Genesis 9 Males?I think we are unlikely to see male characters 9well, huamn males characters) until Michael 9 launches - which I would assume is offset from Victoria 9 so they don't compete.

I'm hoping against hope that the delay in M9's delivery is due to Daz's learning from the V9 debacle that we need the customary amount of clothing/hair DAY ONE for a new Victoria or Michael.
I assume they are preparing a large collection of boxers, underpants and briefs.

I'm at the point now where I can't see much in the store that I actually want. I have amassed so much G8 content (even more than I had for V4 all those years ago) that I hardly ever see anything in the store that tempts me - even at big discounts. I'm certainly not going to start over again with G9 because I don't see - from any of the renders posted so far (or even the nice promo done by Jay) - anything that I couldn't do with G8. I don't do close-ups and I have tons of body shaping morphs and skins for G8 so why would I want to start over?
I get it that DAZ needs to keep releasing new figures to renew the sales cycle and I can see why people with healthy bank accounts might be tempted to jump on this train but I don't see any convincing reason for me to follow suit. So I can see my spending tailing off for a while until DAZ does come up with something revolutionary - perhaps a human figure with soft-body physics? I would start buying again so readily if that appeared in the store but I am beginning to believe I am too old to hold out a hope that I will see it in my remaining lifetime.
In the meantime, I enjoy dressing up my G8 dolls and making pictures while cursing how slow dForce still is or how I have to redo my render because I notice a toe going through a floorboard. I have high hopes for DS5 but DAZ has crushed high hopes so often in the past that I find myself wishing that some other revolutionary software will suddenly appear.
This is about what happened to me. I didn't see much difference between version 7 and version 8. I saw no difference at all between version 8 and 8.1, except that some things stopped working. And I can't see any difference in version 9. All I've read is the eyes are better, and other things have been made incompatible for no reason. It seems like maybe they've hit some kind of plateau in which things can't get much better but they still want to release new, somewhat incompatible products to keep revenue coming in. With no noticeable improvements in the new products, I'm better off using all of the previously existing products I've collected for older versions.
I might be finally done with the DAZ store forever, for the second time. The first time, I eventually came back years later because I found out IRAY was introduced, and it made lighting much easier. Maybe I'll come back years from now when there's a new revolution on that level. Or maybe when Victoria 9 costs $10 USD. Maybe I'll just end up bored and having extra money at the same time, and spend it here. I don't know.
Please suggest products - historical dress for G8 / 9In addition to what has been mentioned above, here are a few more victorian style dresses: Mostly for the older figures.

There are more for V4 I know of, if you want to go even further back.
Also for Genesis 8 there is the MFD (https://www.daz3d.com/iconic-mfd-bundle-1-for-genesis-8-females) and Universal dress (https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-universal-dress-for-genesis-8-females) that have a lot of expansion packs and texture sets, some of which could be used for the victorian era.
The Penny Dreadful for Genesis 2 is probably the closest, stylewise, to the garments you are looking for
My voice matters! (new survey out)They seem to have general issues with scripts. Automated adding of an item to a qualifying account - did not work. They tried again with anaother type of promo. Did not work either. But then, with Victoria 9, that just must work - it did not. Now, adding credit to qualifying accounts - still does not work. Whoever is responsible for such scripting should prepare very well to answer some questions.

It's been a while since I've been active in the forum. I had some losses in my family which were hard to deal with. It's just been a rough last couple of years. When I have been on the forums, I've mostly just lurked in the background. Sadly, that also meant there wasn't a It's Raining Men contest last year, and there won't be one this year either. I do really hope things get back to normal for me and perhaps, I can resurrect the contest in 2023 if there is still interest in having it. I apologize for just ghosting on that, but I just didn't have the mental capacity to deal with all the issues that always comes up with having the contest. Normally, I don't mind, but I just can't yet.
So Genesis 9 seems to be out. I'm not sure if I'm impressed with it yet or not. I did pick up Victoria 9, not the bundle though. I have to say I'm surprised Victoria 9 only came with one eye color. Even Genesis 9 comes with the the normal base colors like blue, green, brown, etc. Usually Victoria has those same basic options. But no, she only has one eye color. I so hope that isn't a trend for Daz characters in the future.
At any rate, I did have fun playing with the new figures. I'll withhold judgment about the new generation until more characters come out and we have access to all the morphs. At the moment, there isn't really all that much I can until even the basic morph sets come out. I really need to work on taking figures out of Daz Studio and morphing characters on my own. That's not something I've been very successful at doing yet. I mostly rely on morph sets and spin dials. Not something I can do until I have dials to spin!
So here's my first renders of Victoria 9.
Closeup of V9:
I haven't been happy, so far, with my test renders of Genesis 9. I'll keep working with her to see what I can do.
I haven't see anything that makes me want to go and buy Genesis 9 anything. I'm still waiting to be "wowed". Meanwhile I've got so much other content.... Its good to have you back. I'm sorry that its been so rough. I've had a ton of life changes myself, some good, some bad. Here's to a better 2023 all around!
