Clothing Morph Applies Weirdly After Importing From Blender. Straps look Weird too.
There is some inconcy in your export from DS and import to blender.
When the suit is in blender it has the symmetry axis as Y, it should be X. It looks to me as you are both modifing orientation out of DS and into blender, which probably are causing the rotation.
And when you then in blender mirror along X you get problems.
Clothing Morph Applies Weirdly After Importing From Blender. Straps look Weird too.I workaround it by turning Jill 90 degrees to the directon when the suit is loaded back in. Do I have to do this?
Also, there's a lot of tearing or poke through in the suit after the import. I do have a Push Modifier added which I previously used before to adjust the tearing or poke through. There's so much more. See Part 3 link.
What is going on with the leg straps? They should not be chipped like that. They have been slowly been degrading. See Part 3 link (short vid).
I get the feeling I have to start again from scratch.

I don't have time to sit through videos, screen shots of the settings with a verbal summary would help. However, the last comment sounds as if your OBJ export and morph import settings do not match and one of them is chnaging the axis system - or possibly your import and export settings in Blender are doing that. Daz Studio was presets for the otpions, make sure you use the same one in OBJ export and morph import.
How many do you need? I've got a total of 16 screenshots from the vidoes I've posted.
Apologies but I don't exactly remember what I did as i was following another video but I'll try to explain.
Basically I was trying to Export a Suit and Character to Blender. I changed the suit the Base Resolution as a .obj. I was not sure which body morph/s to select. I selected one. After trying again, I selcted the other. Didn't make no difference which I selceted. I copy the name of the morph to save it in the name of the morph.
I open Blender and start smoothing. Save the file again as a .obj. Name it and I unselect some options. Save it on my drive. Then Export. Open Daz. Select Morph Loader Pro. Find saved .obj. Change Reverse Deformations>Yes. Overwrite Existing> Deltas Only.>Accept. Doesn't load properly.
Part 1 of screen shots.

I have several issues.
1: Am I Exporting and Importing the character and Clothing correctly to Blender and back to Daz? I'm asking cause I have 2 Body Morphs and I'm not sure which one to select? Am I following the procedures correctly?

Diffeomorphic Add-ons Version 5.0.0 ReleasedDiffeomorphic Add-Ons version 4.2.0 Released
DAZ Importer version 4.1.0 did not work at all with Blender 4.2. The reason is that Blender 4.2 has a strong (or less weak) typing system, which causes almost every button in the DAZ Importer to crash. Therefore it is time for a new stable release of the DAZ Importer and the other Diffemorphic add-ons. The add-ons have been tested with Blender 4.1.0 and 4.2.0 and also briefly with Blender 2.83, and there is a good chance that they will work with intermediate Blender versions too.
Apart from making it possible to use the DAZ Importer in Blender 4.2 at all, there are also some other improvements:
- Better handling of rigid followers.
- Improvements to HD Import.
- Simulation and rigging for hair curves.
- Better performance and memory management.
The DAZ Studio export scripts (export_to_blender.dsa and export_highdef_to_blender.dsa) have also been updated and should be copied to the Scripts folder in a DAZ Studio directory. Old versions of the scripts still work in most situations, but the new versions are needed for the improvements of rigid followers and HD import.
DAZ Importer
The DAZ Importer is a Blender add-on for importing native DAZ Studio files (.duf, .dsf) into Blender. It also contains some tools to make the assets more animation friendly.

The next three add-ons were recently spawned from the DAZ Importer in order to keep down its size somewhat. They contain rather specialized tools that are probably not of interest to most users. They are also poorly documented.
Important: The DAZ Importer must be enabled first, before any of these three add-ons can be used.
DAZ Preset Exporter
This add-on contains some tools for creating pose presets and other assets that can be used in DAZ Studio. It has not been updated for Blender 4.2.0.

https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/shell_edit/wiki/HomeSmart Content: filter by context doesn't show Wardrobe with Genesis or G8F selectedI am only aware of that you can edit metadata on folder or product level.
But it is a bit strange how they can have been changed.
Help with Installing Products so they show in Smart ContentI figured it out and it WAS something very stupid. The VALUE of a SupportAsset needs to be prepended with a / while the regular Assets cannot have a forward-slash. I had both Assets and Support Assets starting with the forward-slash, thus none of the Assets were being recognised. I still have to re-import the metadata after install, but after that it's been working every time.
Help with Installing Products so they show in Smart ContentAre the metadata files installed with the rest of the content by DIM, or were they just added to the Runtime/Support folder? For Studio to recognize the metadata, it has to be part of the installation, or it has to be re-imported separately, either in DIM or Studio, as @barbult says. Note that if not part of the package, the metadata will get overwritten with a basic version if ever you re-install or update, like it had when first installed. To add them to the package, you need to copy the files into the proper location in the zip, and modify the manifest.dsx in the root folder of the .zip to include those files. While you're at it, you can add a thumbnail file to the mix.
What I do after installing with DIM is to edit the metadata from the Product view (the alphnumeric list), make any adjustments to Store, Token, Artist, Content Type, Default Category, Compatibility Base, Compatibilities (the really usefeul part of the metadata for Smart Content), etc., then export the metadata and Accept. (You can Auto-export the metadata which will create the new versions of the files when you Accept). You can then re-insert those files back into the zip as described above, go back to DIM, find the product, uninstall it, "Refresh Package Data" and re-install.
There are products that will help create the metadata, but I am unfamiliar with them, and not entirely convinced that they are better than my own judgement, but they are faster.
Help with Installing Products so they show in Smart ContentDid you try reimporting metadata from the Content Library database maintenance? You created a dsx file but maybe it needs to be imported into the content database to be effective.Help with Installing Products so they show in Smart ContentLeana said:
If there's no metadata included in the product install files then it won't show up in smart content when installed, that's normal. The metadata you manually created after install are not part of the install files, so it's also normal they don't appear when you reinstall the product.
It is possible to export the metadata you created so you have a backup you can reimport: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/990669/#Comment_990669
I would suggest looking at this utility if you want to process a lot of files and create installers with metadata you can share: https://www.daz3d.com/content-wizard
The metadata IS there. I created the dsa and dsx files in Runtime/Support/ and added all the files to it as either functional assets or support assets as well as creating the manifest and supplement files. The zip file has to be formatted very specifically for DIM to recognise it, but it does and it installs without errors, but it doesn't seem to recognise or read the dsx file. Initially, I tried using a custom store (after adding the custom store to the database) and that didn't work, so I also tried using DAZ 3D as the store as well as using LOCAL USER. Nothing works. The SKU/ProductToken is a unique 8-digit number and I use one of the randomly generated GlobalIDs.

I Accidentally Deleted ALL the Smart Content MetadataWoo hoo! I reset the database and reimported the metadata! It worked! Thank you all for your help!!
Next time, I'll think twice before I try to declutter by categories tab.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
I Accidentally Deleted ALL the Smart Content MetadataI don't understand why it is happening.
The only suggestion I can come with is to first reset the database, and then re-import all metadata. It might be that your CMS somehow has gone corrupt.

Hello,
ive had a look both on and off the programme for the files but we have had no luck at all. even my fiancee has had problems finding the files aswell. if someone could please provide a picture tutorial then that would be great
thank you
I manually install Renderosity content in Daz Studio (4.21) with some frequency. Hopefully, you still have the content’s zip files(s). If so, either extract the content into a new folder on your desktop or double click into the zip folders to explore where the folders were designed to be placed Once you know that, you can find the files in Daz Studio’s mapped folders under Das Studio Formats, Poser Formats, etc. in your Content Library. Attached is a screen capture of my Content Library.
Once you know the place(s) where the content is in your Content Library, navigate there in the Content Library. Right click on the folder where the content is located and select Create a Product from (second atttached image). Type in your desired name and click Accept. If the content is in more than one location (Figures, Materials, Pose, etc.), then repeat the Create a Product from process with each location. Once you have created a new product, then for each subsequent create product action for the same product name, type (or better yet, copy and paste) the product name that you created the first time into the Product Exists popup window and then click Yes. When done, you will have the product in your Products library and in Smart Content.
You’ll want to add a thumbnail for the product in your Daz Studio's Runtime/Support folder as well as edit/add metadata for Type(s) such as Prop, Hair, etc. and, separately, assign Categories to product assets.

I forgot, it did solve the problem with G8F, but is it normal for Genesis to not have any metadata ?
It should have "Genesis" as comptability base. If relevant you could also reinstall Genesis Starter Essentials.

Smart Content: filter by context doesn't show Wardrobe with Genesis or G8F selectedFollowing your advice did solve the problem, thank you.
According to the PA, who answered someone with the same problem in 2021, it was not something up his alley. Either no one bothered to open a ticket since 2021, or it's still waiting for a fix since then. Regardless, I opened one ticket too to ask Daz if it is possible to fix the product to avoid it messing with metadata it shouldn't change.
