Hi to all,

I havent been using Daz a lot in the past year and I used to not mind too much about the folder "disorganization" my Daz3d software had suffered over time.
Let me explain: I changed computers twice over the past few years, and for some reason, when I migrated from one to the other my Daz installation got somewhat mixed-up. Now when I get products from other providers Renderosity or others, I have a hard time knowing where I should unzip my files. I Have like 3 sets of Daz libraries.

So, my question is: How can I move things from one place to another without screwing things up even fruther? I wouldn't want my Daz Central to get "confuzed" and not be able to find my stuff at all.

Which won't make the products available if they aren't, it will just stop them from appearing at all.

That is another problem that needs to be solved, but at least the distraction (DAZ Connect) is no longer messing up even more.

Product installed with DIM or even manual installation, will appear in smart content and if they don't there is a problem with the installation and/or the database, but logging in/signing in to DS is not the cure, quite the opposite.

There is just one reason for logging in/signing in to DS and that is to install content with DAZ Connect within DS, and if that method is chosen/preferred, there is no point in installing content by the other available methods (DIM/DAZ Central/manual installation), as DAZ Connect installed content will override content installed by any and all other means, even when DAZ Connect installed content fails to work.

It sounds like you are trying to launch Hexagon from with in Daz Central, what I've done is to Pin in to my Start Menu. Did a quick screen grab, it's stored in the DAZ 3D folder but you can change the location with the app installer.

I propose an interesting question. I am trying to complete an upgrade on my Mac as my Safari browser cannot be opened.  I use Safari a lot and it upgrdes on Mac upgrades. My issue is I cannot do it until I close all programs. I have tried and tried but cannot get Daz Central to close and thus it keeps blocking the restart for the upgrades. Any suggestions?

I would really lke to finish the upgrade but so far....I have to get Daz Central closed down. 

Has anyone else bought this yet? I'm having a bit of trouble making it all work together, and I was wondering if there was something missing.

1. The character's icon doesn't appear in the main People/Genesis 8 Male/Characters listing, but if you look in the invidual character folders underneath that all of the bits are there.

2. The problem is that the pieces (body, feet, hands, etc.) aren't parented to a character as a whole, so even if you go in manually and parent the hands to the body, etc., once you pose it they are completely separate from the body and won't move with it.

3. The clothing won't fit to the feet, or body or whatever, and will not move with them.

I'm at a loss as to how to actually use this bundle, but I don't want to do a return since I'm assuming there's a fix for it in the works, or something that I am missing. I don't use Daz Central, I always use DIM to install if that makes a difference. Help! :D

I've been trying to get Studio installed on my Mac for months. No luck at all. First time out I got to 50%. since then DIM stalls at 0% and doesn't move. DIM eventually has to be force-quit.

Based on recent posts in this thread, I thought I would try again. Looked at my "Full Disk Access" list and much to my surprise, there were entries for both DIM and DazCentral. Both items were un-installed a while ago.

I guess it's common knowledge that the un-installer does NOT remove all the DAZ files. But I also combed through my library folders deleting all the random trash that DAZ likes to scatter around the system. For some reason, I cannot find these two files to get them off my Security & Privacy pane. (show in Finder is not working on these  files).

Regardless, I did re-install the latest DIM and checked boxes for both. No dice. DIM loads up and lets me log in, but that's it. Any attempt to install something still stops at 0% and the app must be force-quit.

Support is useless. They were responsive for a while in September (although they kept giving me solutions for a Windows system). I've sent them the crash logs they requested, but they seem to have walked away from the problem. It's been radio silence for a while. I really want their products to work (and have access to the assets I have accumulated over the years). Fact is that none of their software has ever worked well on a Mac. Every time I come back I end up regretting it. All I really want to do at this point is get my files converted to a format I can use in Blender.

Two questions:

1. Any other tricks for getting DIM or Central to work on a Mac? (Security settings didn't work. There are no hidden dialogs)

2. Does anyone have a full list of the trash the DIM installer spews on the system? I'd like to do an actual uninstall.

Daz Central does allow you to set a base path, however, so you are not bound to use C:.

I really dislike both Daz Central and the Install  Manager. I also can't seem to find the Genesis 8.1 bases anywhere. I scipped 4.15 and went directly to 4.16. I'm not sure that has anything to do with it.

So in watching a product video for 'Face Transfer Unlimited' today, it say that the 'Face Transfer' tab is avaialble from the 'Window / Panes /' tab Menu. In looking for this on my system, it is not avaialble in my DAZ Studio version 4.16 (Mac). The video states that it will be there, and you can try out the feature, but it will have a "DAZ Logo on the forehead until you pay for 'Face Transfer'". So I assume that it is a new feature and is now a part of Studio 4.1.16, but yet you have to buy it as an add-on to use the functionality. Is this correct?

Also, from within DAZ Studio, it says that I am currently on version 4.16.0.3.

But Daz Central says that I am currently on version 4.15.

Yet, in looking here in the forums its posted that there is a version 4.16.1.6.

Is 'Face Transfer' only in this latest listed version? A little confused here.

Why the inconsistant numbers here? Why would my DAZ Central say that I am on 4.15, when the DAZ Studio app itself, says that I am on a later version, 4.16.0.3? 

Thanks. I just discovered that DazCentral doesn't even recognize that Daz Studio is installed, so I'm going to simply install it again through Daz Central without first doing an unistall. I had to do that once before when installing another app messed up Daz. I'll see if that fixes the problem. If I still have issues, I'll uninstall and reinstall.

The obvious first question is do you have PostgreSQL installed? If you do is it showing in the list of background processes after starting Daz Studio (task manager with More Details enabled)? What security software are you using?

I do not know how to install PostgreSQL. I didn't see a download button for that in Daz Central (Which is where I Installed Daz Studio)... If I need to do that, can you please leave me a URL or a step by step guide on how to do it? I have no idea where to look for it or anything... Thanks!

Correct, UNC paths are not suported in DIM, Daz Central, or DIM so a mount point needs to be used.

Assuming you have tried restarting your machine...

And assuming you used DIM to install Daz Studio (Sorry can't help with Daz Central) you need to ensure 'PostgreSQL CMS' is installed, see first attachment.

Then you need to confirm it is running using Task Manager, see the second attachment, (don't worry if there are multiple copies of it running)

After that you could try temporarily disabling you anti virus software.

i got it from the site, downloaded through Daz central, wasnt shown in panes or about my plug ins only in content library so i went to DIM uninstalled and reinstalled from there, same result though

Trying to install Daz Studio on my PC (Windows 10 64 bit). Installation crashes on 57%. When I restart Daz Central and try installing again it just says "Installation will start after previous installations". I waited for 3 hours and nothing happenned. After reinstalling Daz Central nothing changed!!!!

I'm using standard Defender, no extra virus or  malware progs, installing to default paths (on my C drive). After the first time it got stuck I deleted everything Daz (including the user/appdata directory) and started over clean. Same result. I've installed Daz studio a year (or 2) ago without any issues when it still used just the install manager. Now it wont work even though my system is exactly the same.

Suggestions before I just delete it all and give up?

Assuming you haven't already downloaded they will be in the DIM Downloads folder - Daz Central doesn't keep the zips so if you use that there is nothing to back up.
