Help with "Daz To Blender" / Not Showing UpOk guys I have Figured out the "Not being able to find or open the Daz To Blender Add on" in blender.
So i used daz central installed the Daz to Blender Add on or Daz to Blender Bridge what ever you want to call it. what happened to me was it installed to the wrong location.
It installed to "C:\Users\PHNX\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\BLENDER_VERSION\scripts\addons\DTB"
I copied everything in the DTB folder went back a few folders to "3.0" or the actual version you have installed.
Navigate to scripts addons CREATE a DTB folder and paste what you copied into that folder.
open blender go to add on's and the DazToBlender add on should now show up in blender hope this helps.
Blender Version: 3.0
Daz Version : 4.16 Pro

Why do you need to reinstall Daz Central? It should persist, like any software instalaltion.
it just did it
If daz Central keeps being uninstalled then I think you have a general system issue, which probably also accounts for the DIM crashing issue. The first suspect would be security software, followed by other system utilities3

ERROR: relation "customer" does not existAfter far too many weeks, i've finally got Daz to install on my new macbook pro ( monterey 12.0.1- Apple M1 Max )
I can log into the website, DIM and Dazcentral fine but when i fire up daz i get
"A valid PostgreSQL CMS connection could not be established."
I uninstalled everything, deleted the hidden files, zapped it with activity monitor, and reinstalled and restarted multiple times. same problem. I've tried with daz central and without. i want to scream.
when i try and login through daz3d I get this error.

If DIM stays open for long enough have you tried creating a new account (using the same credentials)?
no but will give it a try
Tried it just says just keeps saying the same when i close it "install manager has encountered a fatal error and must close", i installed my last purchase through daz central, so not really a great deal of trouble. just wondering if Daz central had to be reinstalled every time i do make a purchase.
Thanks for your help anyway
happy new year and stay safe
Update to 4.16 went horrobly wrong...Do not use Daz Central! It is simply a stripped down version of DIM. I found it caused more problems than it solved.

And Daz Central doesn't crash? Do you get any errors when DIM crashes? Have you checked the log (from the settinmgs menu, the gear icon)? What are your system specifications?
Dez Central doesn't crash, been through the logs and everything with Tech Support they were very helpfull but problem could not be resolved, Daz central is fine just that i made a purchase the other day and daz Central reinstalled, was just wondering if that woud happen with every purchase i make

I use DIM, but I feel pretty confident that you don't need to reinstall Daz Central each time.
Why is that your impression?
And why can't you use DIM?
yes that is my impression
DIM keeps crashing, Tech. support can not see why so don't bother with it

Update to 4.16 went horrobly wrong...I quit the program before updating it, but maybe you are right and it didn't quit all the way and some task was still running in the background.
Or was the problem that I used Install Manager (DIM)? I noticed that there is now DAZ Central. I have been kind of absent from working in the 3D world ever since Covid started. So I guess I have missed a lot of news...
BTW, after re-installing it via DAZ Central 4.16 runs just fine and all settings have been inherrited.
Need to inform you of a problem with your 4.16Tippy Toeing in here ... I don't use Daz Central ever and rarely DIM, prefer manual installation to the expected paths.
1. No you absolutely do not need to buy any membership or licensing fees in order to use Daz Studio. You do not need to rebuy your products either.
To help D/S find the content wherever it was put, might I suggest checking that the pathways are up-to-date. From the Content Pane, hamburger menu [that set of little lines], one can bring up various options to get the Content Directory Manager etc. It can even perform a search through the entire computer and/or drives. {n.b. that could take awhile, have time for a coffee ;-) }
don't know how to install add ons on Mac laptopWell, if you will take help from a newbie it is pretty easy to install content manually into your Daz library (I do this on a daily basis as Daz central on my Macbook used to hang all the time).
The important thing is to respect the folder structure of your library and make sure you put things in the correct folders so the software knows where to find them.
(FYI I moved my Daz library to an external SSD drive as it was getting huge)
Get two windows open, in list view for ease, one for your Daz library (look in your documents folder) and the other for the product you want to install. You will see folders 'data' 'runtime' etc. - and depending what the product is it may have folders called 'people' 'props' 'environments' 'vehicles' etc.
Start with your Daz library data folder; disclose that into a long list and in the other window do the same for your product. Drag the folders (or subfolders) from your product into the corresponding folder (or subfolder) in your library. It is vital to get the hierarchy the same so double check you are getting the nesting the same.
Macs allow you to merge the contents of two folders with the same name (dunno about Windows) which can save time.
Then disclose the other folders in the library which have corresponding folders in your product (People, Runtime, etc etc) and do the same as you did for the data folder.
Once you have done this, launch Daz and try and use the product you just installed. If it doesn't throw up any error messages saying it can't find various files then all is good and you have done it! If it does say things are missing, make a note of what files it can't find and where they should be and drag them to the correct places.
Hope this makes sense - the first few times you do this it seems pretty daunting but trust me you soon get familiar with the folder structure and it becomes almost second nature.
Virtual Reality Q&A (OT)VR addict here! I watch all movies & TV in VR now! Netflix & Amazon Prime have their own apps, everything else I watch in Virtual Desktop (love the big dark theater) or Big Screen if I want to watch with others either publicly or privately. I also have several houses/mansions in Altspace VR and can plunk a big screen down anywhere to show videos to friends there but that only works with the Edge browser which doesn’t seem to allow VR streaming from several providers but YouTube always works. I love that I can watch any movie in a huge IMAX like virtual theater while lying in bed with my cat with Virtual Desktop though, that’s my favorite for private movie watching.
For workouts: My favorite is Audio Trip which is constantly updated and you can customize it, set it up for a better more active workout mode or various rhythm game modes. Also Synth Rider and FitXR (which I got prior to the subscription mode and I’m not subscribed but it has boxing, dancing and something else I haven’t tried yet.) I like these better than Beat Saber which I also have. Oh also Dance Central is a good work out and Creed and Thrill of the Fight (which I got on sale but don’t really have enough room for!) Most of these don’t require a lot of room at all and can be done in fairly small spaces but stay away from shelves! Oculus comes with an app MOVE that counts all your calories burned too!
I love AltspaceVR for socializing. I have several houses and art galleries there. My main newest one is code ISQ763 with all art on walls done in DS, Poser, Photoshop. The gallery is a big two floor martini lounge with pool & jacuzzi upstairs. You can grab a drink. It’s currently decorated for Christmas. You can visit there any time! There are networking events, seminars, parties, comedy shows, group meditation and more in AltspaceVR. Very few children, none really if you go to the right places, they even have parties for those over 40 and most people I meet are 30-60’s, lots of women as well as men, everyone is really nice and helpful so no one should feel intimidated if you’re new to all this. Lots of people who go to Burning Man (which was in VR there for the last two years) and people into creating in Unity which is how worlds are built there although you can use Altspace free assets too.
In recent sales I got some relaxing games like pinball, mini golf and fishing, none of which I do in real life, especially fishing, I would never fish, but in VR it’s pretty and relaxing and no real fish are killed and even the VR fish are either put back or saved in a giant fish tank.
Also watching YouTube tutorials on giant screens is much better than watching on regular computer screens! The resolution is great and it’s much more immersive.
Tiltbrush, Gravity Sketch, Medium, & Quill are some great art programs.
Nature Treks & Guided Meditation are great for beautiful relaxing scenes. TaiChi for focus & relaxation. There’s even a free app by AARP called Alcove for those of you who think you’re too old for VR!
Tons of travel experiences and VR nature videos, so much to do, experience, play, people to meet from around the world... I don’t know how people got through Covid lockdown WITHOUT VR!
And oh yeah, tons of shooter/action/violent games but I don’t do those...
Need to inform you of a problem with your 4.16If the product is isntalled through Daz Studio itself then a Daz Central install will have no bearing, so I'm not sure what the "fix" is doing - perhaps it refreshes the metadata. Do you have two exclamations - one in the frame (missing thumbnail) and one at the bottom corner (missing DS file)? That woudl geenrally indicate that, while the product may be isntalled, its location (for DS installs that would be the folder that holds the /data/cloud/ folder) is not added as a Daz Connect or Daz Studio Formats content directory - check Content Directory Manager (available though Edit>Preferences>Content tab).
In any event, the content should be there - the update is not supposed to touch it - so you certainly aren't being coerced to buy anything else to use it.
Tobyn Head morph not workingThe morph files are text files that can be opened even in Notepad, but a better program for opening them is Notepad++. Some morph files are compressed and in those cases they need to be uncompressed first with for example 7-Zip.
But... Tobyn was released in 2019 and at least I don't remember any threads about problems with him, I would start looking for the cause in how your content is installed.
1. Which method do you use for installing content, DAZ Install Manager (DIM), DAZ Central, Manual installation or DAZ Connect inside DAZ Studio?
2. Do you sign in/log in to DAZ Studio?
3. How are your content libraries set up, take a snapshot of the content library paths in Content Directory Manager (see attached pics)
3. Attach your log to your post with "Attach a file" above "Post Comment" button, the snippet you copied does not give enough information.Edit, Before you do anything uninstall Tobyn and download/install a fresh copy from DAZ3D to make sure you have the latest version in case there has been an update at some point.
