Creating characters that look like real people
Not sure why you think one click solutions aren't any good, but there are 3 options using Daz Studio and the Genesis figures. One is facegen artist pro, the other is headshop and then you have the builtin face transfer option in DS. All results depend of quality input images though, the better the source files, the better the morph

Noob Question - Headshop 14 doesn't work?Throwawaytales has had a skype/screen share session and we were able to find a solution in 5 minutes flat. He also forgot to mention, that he installed HeadShop via DAZ Central and IM - neither of which can be used with HeadShop. As the README clearly states, HeadShop has its own installer that, when used, installs on the correct location.
Noob Question - Headshop 14 doesn't work?I can't help with the Headshop technical problems. I hope you find the help you need, but know that you have 30 days from date of purchase to return the product for a refund, if you are dissatisfied with it. If you decide to go that route, submit a help request to ask for a refund. $109 is way too much to waste on something that doesn't work.
Noob Question - Headshop 14 doesn't work?Hey all!
As the title suggests, I'm new to Daz.
Let me know if this should go somewhere else since it's mostly about Headshop.
- I bought a full $109 license to Headshop 14 (mistake?), because I liked the advertised features, however it doesn't seem to work as advertised.
- I have a default installation of DAZ 3D using the Daz Install Manager (installation directory is C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D) with nothing else added.
- I have closely followed the tutorial videos and text multiple times.
- I am able to launch DAZ (current standard version 4.15 Pro downloaded straight from website), and I am able to click Edit>Start Headshop
- However when I actually attempt to export anything I get the following error from attempting a folder that does not exist on the current installation (Runtime/Faceshop). There is no Faceshop subfolder there:

----------------------------------------One - and only one - figure being difficult to position in a sceneI don't think it is HeadShop, but you may try this:
First create the first figure with HeadShop, then save it as "File/Scene Subset". Start a new project, create the other figure with HeadShop. When finished, use "File/Merge" to merge first figure back into scene.
One - and only one - figure being difficult to position in a sceneI'm putting together a simple two-person scene. One figure moves freely and is easily positioned. The other one is janky as all get-out, as if it were a drain on system resources to move it. What I'd like to know is if there's a way to figure out which resource is causing the drain. I've tried hiding the hair, to no avail. I wondered if it had something to do with HeadShop, which I used to make the problem figure, so I hid the head as well. That didn't work either. Both figures use skins from Zev0's Skin Builder utility. Aside from hairs and the HeadShop thing, I can't think of any other differences between the two figures.
Installation of Headshop 14 addons questioninfo_b3470fa520 said:
Neither. The HeadShop Add-ons do not need to be installed. Simply unzip file and drag/drop the folder to "HeadShop plugin/Models/Morphing/Genesis 8.1/Man" or "HeadShop plugin/Models/Morphing/Genesis 8.1/Woman" folder
Thanks. That is what I meant by 'manually installed'. I guess I shouldn't let DIM try to install them.

One click 2022 error whenever I try to transfer to a Genesis figureHave the same problem, would like to know the solution. I have updated from HeadShop 13 to Headshop Oneclick2022
Edited to use store link rather than Product Library
Headship One-click 2021I've been trying to use headshop One-click 2012. When I export it into Genesis 8 figure; the eyelashes don't line up right way with the eyes. Is there something I'm doing wrong? And can anybody help me to resolve this problem?

You have an installation issue. Since HeadShop is a plugin, it needs to be installed as such. The HeadShop 14 video clearly explains the process:

Most issues are due to either having multiple DAZ Studio locations - the video shows how to identify the right location.
The 40 page manual also gives a good overview: https://printahead.net/wp-content/uploads/HS14-Manual.pdf
You can also contact Abalone for tech support: we can set up a skype call at lasloves - it solves problems 98% of the time.
Thank you @info_b3470fa520 i managed to get it running after reading the pdf, and also defaulting the temp location in daz preference it solved the daz model not found issue. Also i had to create manually faceshop/fs or headshop/fs folders not sure which one though in c/users/public/public documents/MyDazLibrary/Faceshop/fs/Smoothtextures since error message popped up during export saying cant find path to that location folder.
Headshop 14 imports coming out not rightSomething seems to be getting lost in translation when I try to import a face in Headshop 14. Here's an example:
In Headshop things seem to be going smoothly

Once I import into DAZ, things seem to go wrong. Especially when it comes to the lips:

I followed the installation instructions to a T, or at least I think I did. Any help or insight here would be appreciated.

The headshop button appeared but giving the message daz model not found with every picture. i wonder what is the problem or has anyone resolved this issue? Thank you so much

It was actually never clear to me where the Auto Follow box was that needed to be checked, thanks Catherine. That works well. I don't mind that workaround. The other thing I've been seeing with HS is that the top of the head is not natural. It comes from HS looking too flat on top. I've been using HS13. Is that fixed in HS14? Lately, I've also been seeing the noses come out rather distorted, even with a pretty decent straight-on photo. Anybody else seen that?
You're welcome.
Well I have noticed not all the morphs work as desired/expected. However most of them worked quite nicely if one takes the time to make proper morphs from them in the usual fashion [not through HeadShop]. As I recall there were one or two that require a little TLC clean up - I used the method of removing vertices from the morphs via the Favorite options.
One big difference with HS14 is that we can add in more morph options on the Sculpt Tab. For example the extra morph sets that were recently released in the store.
There is a forehead dome morph ... I'm illustrating its use outside of HS14. Yes, I actually sat down one day and turned a whole bunch of those options into individual morphs.
How I tend to start off morphing projects:

{that is any character for the same base figure of course}
New release PoseRecorder needs better product description!Ummm, I might have to return this. I just don't think it is ready for prime time at all. When you have to jump through all these conversion hoops and then the result doesn't look at all like the examples, the eyes don't seem to work etc, I am starting to feel a certain kind of way. Similar to how I felt about my purchase of Headshop. Like I so badly want it to work but it just doesn't.

Catherine, obviously the green tint is a problem. Two ways to resolve: 1. Use different photo or 2. Use Photoshop to slightly change hues.
The green isn't the issue .. I get a falloff on the skin tones.. so I just use a skinbuilder to supply a complete skin
But the question is if I buy yet another version of this will it make the eyelashes work or come with a warning about what to do to make them work?Alan, since eyelashes are a separate "figure", it makes it for use hard to address it directly. As Catherine explained, that after your finished with HeadShop, you erease the original eyelashes, reload a new Gen figure, erease everything but the new eye;ashes and then make the new eyelashes parented to the original figure. I'd like to repeat that this is a problem caused by Gen 8 having eyelashes as a separate figure.
okay.. so it continues to be a "feature" ... I can live with that
But along with the various popup during runing the program it would have been nice ...
no more than nice.. almost a requirement, since you knew there would be issues
to have it laid out right on the line when we run the program.
---
That way I know what to do ... and can say "okay because of X I have to do Y" as opposed to finishing a figure and going "why the hell is wrong here".

anyway, a side question, anyone has upgraded or purchased headshop 14? i would like to see some renders of the faces
Really? Okay ...
Here's the little journey: {in HS14 I also added about 1/2 of one of the nose morphs} Final draft renders: used one of the Easy Portrait lighting presets, eyebrows from some character, Commander Hair, eye textures from 8.1's eye material product. {I delete the tear, it's annoying} {obviously replaced the skin - used a merchant resource}
