Accidentally deleted Face Transfer plugin, how to get it back?
Under Help > About Installed Plugins ... is there not a placeholder for Face Transfer, put a check mark in it. Relaunch the program.
ghibli - stylized- toon headsThanks everyone! I have most of the models mentioned and subscibe to checkertoo and shinto but haven't had much luck finding what i needed. I did however find a open-wide morph on the erotica site that works almost peorfectly for my neeeds.
Some hint like "No moveable parts included" needed for many products!?!One particular product I bought was a collection of wizard/mage-related objects, basically magic-bottles and bags and stuff. It had a bag to stuff things into, but the bag itself wasn'r rigged. However, the prop pack came with an open version of the bag and a closed version of the same bag, so I used the open version of the bag to stuff a bunch of (non-magic-related) things into. I was happy with that opened bag as is, but having the bag in a closed and an opened versions was a good comprimise for something that I figure would likely have been trouble to rig and morph. I haven't had need of the closed version yet, thought, but am happy the product pack included one.
(Actually, I wasn't even aware until later that the bag came from a fairy-tale-magic themed pack of props, I simply searched my Content Library for a bag, said "Oh, that one looks suitable!" applied a different fabric shader onto the outside, and crammed a bunch of baby-related stuff in it from other places in my Daz collection of stuff, because I needed a diaper-bag and no one makes a suitable one for Daz Studio yet.)
Zale 8.1 Discussion ThreadI had two coupons, one hidden and didn't know about it. Got both bundles and the HD and the PC+ freebie today. It made most sense financially.
I really love Zale. I see a man who has lived life, been beat up and come back better than ever. I started with the base character, used the scar mat without the eyebrows, added some fibermesh ones, then hair, clothes and ... you know the drill. And while I messed with the lights I added the HD morph by the slider. Even though I have lights in his eyes, they are dark and I am going with it. This highlighted his sculpt.

SereneNight’s Sci-Fi Fun Thread 3At the moment, it looks like the closest they've got to some kind of everyday ordinary guy is Jazz -- and honestly, I kind of think they needed to do a bit more with him. His head morph is very nice and distinctive; his body is maybe a half-step away from being generic G8.1M. I mean, I don't demand that every guy be a ripped musclehunk -- I like Fred and one of the guys based on him -- but Jazz' body doesn't even make sense for the promo copy. Even back in the seventies, younger policemen were required to maintain some sort of physical conditioning, if not quite as much as today. I wound up using a couple of morphs to give him a bit more definition without giving him more bulk -- slim and very slightly wiry works a bit better, I think.
Zale's long dreadlocks... is that the Corn Row Hair Set?LongRedDog said:
I'm really wanting Zale's long dreads, but I can't find that hairstyle anywhere. It seems like it might be Corn Row Hair Set since that's in the bundle, but none of the promo images include pictures of how it looks when it's in the "long" morph, those aren't exactly dreads and Zale doesn't seem to have the sides shaved. But there are no new hairstyle releases like Zale's that I can find, and it doesn't match existing hairstyles unless I'm missing something. Can anyone confirm what hairstyle Zale is using in his main promo images? Thanks!
If Zale follows the same pattern as previous Named 8.1 figures, there will be another Zale bundle released tomorow or the next day. That hair may be part of the 2nd bundle.
[Released] Oso Horseman HD for Genesis 8.1 Male Bundle
I agree, that is a good philosophy for clothing fits too. Often, the only body morphs supported for clothing are DO ones. Even for transferring shapes between figures. I often transfer only the head and then recreate an approximation of the body on the other figure with dial spinning.Oso3D said:One of the philosophies I've started applying, for anthros, is to only shape the critical areas and leave the body as untouched as possible. That way it's very easy to take the character in various directions.
Pot belly horseman? Sure. Big buff muscled horseman? Tall gangly guy? All good.
Zale 8.1 Discussion ThreadGood addition. He's like a cross between Woody Strode and Lance Reddick, but his head morph looks like it'll need some help from another morph (not Sanjay) to reach realism, and the scarless skin looks too smooth, like pre-"PBR" non-Core Figure smooth. Perhaps a better normals map (maybe M8.1's or Torment's) will help him out. Male Core Figures should include eyebrows. There's no excuse for that.

Male Abs Variation helpHello all,
I'm struggling to morph male abs that look anything other than a series of rolls. These look good, but they're so overly spherical and perfect looking, it's making it hard to create variety among my men. I've tried several morph backs (Musculature, Shape Shifts, EJ Body Shape, etc.)
I'd like to make flatter/swimmer-like abs, like Brad Pitt in Fight Club (Lee body seemed to have this style, but couldn't get them to work on him).
Thank you!!!

Examples:

Ignore the gunshots on this one - I just want to recreate these kinds of abs:
Creating freebies for two years now.. Bit of a Ramble.I have done only 3 freebies but they are not as popular as a good practical pose set like your Track & Field pose sets. One of the freebies I made involves gathering up freebies from 2 or 3 other people that made freebies on shareCG and installing them so the freebie I made works. So a (relatively, compartively) lot of work, not your typical DAZ 3D shopping experience.
1: Toon scene of the a still of opening credits of well-known TV show from long ago, about 5 years ago
2: Simple Facegen Artist Pro G8F morph of famous rock singer female, about a year ago
3: Simple Facegen Artist Pro G8M morph of a famous rock singer male, 1 year ago
So like you, the initial download rates were very (relatively) a lot and then slowed down a lot just as your did. The popularity winner is easily the famous female rock singer has twice the downloads in one fifth the time as the cartoon credits of the famous TV show The very famous male rock singer is about on par with the popularity of the cartoon credits of the famous TV show if you factor time into it.
What I didn't realize is the Renderosity has so many more views than shareCG. I ought to upload those freebies there just to observe the difference of the math distributions (I kind of like math to, having got a degree in it after realizing I had only take an extra semester of classes to get the degree)
Free! Genesis 8 Male Casual Clothing (re-mapped jeans update)Compared with his female counterpart, Genesis 8 Male as very few freebie clothing packages out there! So continuing in my modeling practice, I made some dforce clothes using Hexagon. Contains 2 shirts (one long sleeve v-neck sweater, one short sleeve polo), 2 pairs of jeans (one normal buttoned up, one with an open fly so if you want to dforce his pants falling down, you can), a couple deformers for the legs so they sit a bit nicer over shoes, a pair of shoes with optional laces (not dforce).
Some caveats:
- They're pretty low poly, which means they may tear a bit in dforce. But that's perfect if G8M gets attacked by a zombie.
- I only created a texture for the sweater and the pants. The polo I just used a silky standard shader from default Daz Uber shaders.
- I'm still having a hard time with UV maps tearing at the edges. (Looking for a good UV mapper tutorial for Hexagon if anyone knows of one.) This means jean seams don't match up, and it makes texturing the shoes a complete nightmare.
- You'll need to create your own dforce modifier weight nodes if you don't want the open fly pants falling completely off.
- I doubt this will work in Poser, but Poser is currently broken for me so I couldn't test it.
I learned a lot in modeling this outfit, about Hexagon, DS and texturing. I learned how challenging it is to take good pictures of my husband's jeans - good enough for texturing, that is. I also learned what a pain it is to save deformers as a morph so they are separate from the actual models.
Good luck!

UltraScenery - new territory [Commercial]As I have backed away from buying characters and morph packs which slowed my load times, I have found myself buying products I think I might be able to use in US. Today's shaders for rocks and moss is one. US is the best product in the Daz Universe, and that is from someone who lives in an asphault jungle.
Want to load 8.1 without "all" of 8's morphs? minitutWhat can also affect loading times, albeit not by much [hopefully], are calls for missing products. i.e. one morph requiring another morph. However [thankfully] the search is limited to the designated folder(s). Another program used to take the time to search the ENTIRE computer looking for a missing picture [usually what I call a checker T] that would never be shown anyhow!
Accidentally deleted Face Transfer plugin, how to get it back?I never bought it so i thought it was a virus or something because it was there in my Daz studio plugins waiting for a serial number but now i'm kind of understanding it's a free plugin included with Daz studio. Can i get it back by installing some free package? and no i dont want to reinstall daz

It wouldn't be the first time Daz dropped a character, but didn't drop the hair til the next day.
Oh, okay, thank you!!

FYI: dreds are not cornrows, cornrows resemble rows of corn from cornfields...

True, but that hairstyle doesn't match any of Zale's promo images (unless I'm missing some because I'm on mobile?) even though it's in the bundle, so I'm hoping that's somehow it even though it doesn't line up. It has a "long" morph so not sure if that affects the braids etc.

Creating freebies for two years now.. Bit of a Ramble. There are so many freebies around that I have benefitted from that I started to get a bit guilty about using them without returning very much to the community. So I thought it might be nice to offer something back. Not having a huge amount of experience in modelling for DS, I reckoned the only thing I could initially offer was poses, because everyone can do poses (ho hum). In 2004 I downloaded a useful set of poses by Musketeer for V3, and as it wasn't very easy to apply them to G8F, after asking Musketeer for permission, I thought I'd have a go at producing a look-alike set for G8F by using V3 as a reference and posing the G8F figure from scratch. I learnt a great deal about posing doing this, mostly that V3 & G8F have very different joints and some V3 poses are really awkward looking on G8F and needed a great deal of re-work to the pose. Took a bit of time to get both the pose right, find how to create the upload package etc etc. Anyway, I uploaded my first freebie 364 days ago, having finished it a year ago today.
The results have been somewhat surprising. OK, I'll be a little less English: The results stunned me.
Within a day or two the downloads exceeded 100. Over 100, Just for a little pose. What were people thinking of?
Anyway, it looked like I had found something I might be able to do to say 'Thankyou' for all the freebies I'd taken advantage of, and did the rest of the set. As I came close to the end, I accidentally applied a pose to G8F rather than my V3 reference figure, and that triggered the thought of a pose transfer script. Naturally it happened after it would be most useful!
So, the results. Well, I have been very surprised. Over the last year there have been 109,802 downloads of my freebies on renderosity and the fastest downloading set is the G8F warm-up pose set 01-05, getting to 1748 downloads since January. Being an engineer, I tend to like graphs and general data, and have found that there is a common shape to the download pattern of each freebie. It starts off with quite a few downloads, then the daily rate tails off to a pretty constant average figure. This can be seen with a plot of 16 downloads below:
As you can see, starts off fast, then tails off to a pretty constant rate. The only thing that's different is the overall popularity of the individual download which determines the slope of the curve. With a bit of data processing it should be possible to calculate the rough 6 month download rate after taking a 2 day and 7 day download quantity snapshot. As I can see no earthly need for this for freebies, I've not done it. Might be worthwhile if I ever have a massive change of heart & try to sell something, but at the moment it's highly unlikely.
So, at the 1 year anniversary of creating a freebie download I am left feeling 'Wow, that was wild and unexpected.'. It's also nice to have been able to give a little back to the community.
Does anyone else have any similar experiences or stories?
Regards,
Richard.
Want to load 8.1 without "all" of 8's morphs? minitutOK, I'm intrigued by this. I just have to see for myself...
This content is loading off a usb2 thumb-drive on a dog of a computer. With everything "essentials" + my DAZ cloud (a laughable, I'll admit) 24 pages long in the product library listing + freebies from the forums, shrecg and rendo for 3+ years Including yours (If I have not said it yet, "Thank you so much!")
