Some Stuff (Shrubbery Thread)
Thanks. Today I thought, hey why not use morph targets on buildings, something else to explore...
V4 -> G8F Shape Product?DS5 will not overwrite DS4. So you can presumably still use GenX with DS4, then use the resulting morph files with DS5.
Any idea what the name of this chracter model is ?Here's my try:

Mousso Blue (Texture and Body Morph)
Mousso Medea (Eyebrows)

... the answer is no

Perhaps Zevo or Riversoft will make a product like that once DS5 comes out, which might disable GenX.
Thanks for the reply, but I hope GenX doesn't get disabled because that is the main way I transfer my shape morphs...

It depends on what you're trying to copy from one character to another. If you're talking about morphs, they should automatically install on both the 8 and 8.1 bases
If the morphs are made for G8.1, they will not 'automatically install' to G8 because G8 will not see or load them.
They can be made to work on G8, but that requires moving the morphs to G8 morph folders and maybe some manual editing of the code inside the morphfiles.

Eyes scale morphsShape splitter is easy to use if you read the PDF. But if you just load the script and start pushing buttons, it will be an uphill battle. You can isolate any part of any morph, as far as I know. For what you want, you could use the region method to isolate the eyes part of the lara morph and generate a dial for just that. Then split the lara eye morph into two using the plane method that shape splitter offers. Alternatively, and more easily, just use the plane method to split the generic eye size morph (from the daz standard morphs) into two so that the new dial only affects half the face. Easy peasy.Eyes scale morphsThank you both so much for the help w this, it means a lot to me!

The first advice sounds a bit difficult and above my skill level, so study the morph in notepad. The second sounds difficult too, but perhaps I can try that. How do I export just that eye morph to obj? won't it be the entire G8.1 base?If it's possible to write the instructions more detalied it would be great
. I work so hard on my art, it's my biggest passion in life, and what I was born to do, but I can't do anything about the eye bug, the scale issue and the posing issue. To pose the eyes individually is so incredibly difficult. Different values on the eyes. What is normal and what is an eye dissorder? no matter how good I do that posing, I still have the different eye size
. I am not skilled enough in ph shop to resize one of the eyes, she would end up looking like an alien lol. VRoid in DAZ? Trying to make head attachmentYes, the Deco or Kururu or similar would emulate this type of dance-software figure quite accurately, with some small re-shaping. I think there are even morph 'shapes' for these that will turn a G8 into these figures, but I could be wrong. There are also various packs of anime type eyes like that.
Genesis 8.1 to 8In theory, you can export an 8.1 character at base resolution and re-import it as a morph for G8, then reapply the materials (with some manual cleanup for the differing material zones).
Never tried it, though.

Carrara challenge #59 ANNWFN - In honour of Chohole.I love all the surreal and artistic effects everyone is using!! Buny, Dio, Mschack, Namtar, Stezza...hope I got everyone! Enjoyed your videal, Wendy! and Vyusur's and Dart's helpful comments on the threads. I read them all!
Headwax, that cone with particles is amazing! You have given me an idea for such a thing as well. And I can use it for my prehistoric scenes as well... thank you so much for the demo. Much appreciated. I have so much to do before me operation Monday evening, that I don't know if I can get another WIP done before end of next week. But will try later today. I sould have vision enough to work on it and get in before the 2nd Sept deadline.
I am using TangoAlpha's Watering Hole which has a great waterfall, but it creates a memory hungry scene and am trying to decimate the waterfall object as it's loads separately in ZBrush as the Carrara decimator seems to just hang. . I think I will have to pose my Welsh girl and do a render pass to place her in that scene. Luckily I have a no-morph 'dummy' to place around in different positions to test things out with a render.
OK, back to the 'drawing board' here. Wish I could send some rain to you Misty!
SileneNewt for Genesis 8.1 Male, morphs, geografts, geoshells? The tail is a geograft, the morph is actually for G8M (so it works for G8M and G8.1M), but the skin is strictly G8.1M. No geoshells.
The skin works with or without the tail (no weird gaps).
Newt for Genesis 8.1 Male, morphs, geografts, geoshells?hi.
trying to figure out the level of effort to get him into carrara, if possible.
if he's morph i'm willing to give it a try. thanks.

I'm glad it worked reasonably well for you. I wasn't quite sure how it would go, to be honest. I moved a directory from one hard drive to another the other day and all my smart content vanished. Fortunately, DS was able to fix it for me by download it all again, but it makes you panic a bit when things like that happen. I'm really glad my advice didn't break anything.

Thank you and Ruthven again for giving great advice on how to proceed with the content replication on the M1 MacBook Air. I looked at as much info as I could gather before performing the duplication. Except for my missing custom saved scenes, secene presets, etc. in Smart Content all looks to be working and available in DAZ Studio 4.15.0.25/.26. It's easy, though a little less convenient, to get to my saved files using the regular Content Library pane. So not much of a concern there. Would still like to figure out what I missed in that regard during the transfer. That's a question for another day! LOL.

a sea of hair parameters...which one for this ?FSMCDesigns said:
If you are talking about the red streaks on both sides, I doubt any morph will fix that since it is a texture issue more than anything. You are correct than most hair assets will be modeled the same way. You could try editing the texture, but chances are the same area on the texture sheet effects both sides the same since that is usually how it's UVMapped.
maybe try a deformer or meshgrabber (in the store) to move that area of the hair a bit to make it less noticable or just use a uniform texture.
Then again im looking at it more and more and im thinking you can get that effect with an actual curler. Maybe i'll let let it go.
