L4N4 HD Morph for Genesis 8 Females needs to be removed from the Genesis Character Selection for the GIMME-3/GIMME-5 coupon offer as it's not a Daz Original and it doesn't work with either coupon.  It's the first product that shows on the product selection for the offer.

It's the only product, out of 162 characters I don't own  LOL!

  • has Headshop fixed the eyelash problem?

    SlimerJSpud said:

It was actually never clear to me where the Auto Follow box was that needed to be checked, thanks Catherine. That works well. I don't mind that workaround. The other thing I've been seeing with HS is that the top of the head is not natural. It comes from HS looking too flat on top. I've been using HS13. Is that fixed in HS14? Lately, I've also been seeing the noses come out rather distorted, even with a pretty decent straight-on photo. Anybody else seen that?

    You're welcome.

Well I have noticed not all the morphs work as desired/expected. However most of them worked quite nicely if one takes the time to make proper morphs from them in the usual fashion [not through HeadShop]. As I recall there were one or two that require a little TLC clean up - I used the method of removing vertices from the morphs via the Favorite options.

One big difference with HS14 is that we can add in more morph options on the Sculpt Tab. For example the extra morph sets that were recently released in the store.

There is a forehead dome morph ... I'm illustrating its use outside of HS14. Yes, I actually sat down one day and turned a whole bunch of those options into individual morphs.

How I tend to start off morphing projects:

    {that is any character for the same base figure of course}

i lost the send to zbrush in daz studio and i need a walkthrough on how to get it back so can someone please help me with this

In DAZ, GoZ is a plugin (a DLL file in the \plugin folder). There are two versions. One for the standard Release version of DAZ and another for the Public Build +Beta+ version of DAZ. Only one of these two plugins should be installed at any time.
When you install the GoZ plugin for the standard version of DAZ it should uninstall the GoZ plugin from the Beta version of DAZ and vice-versa.
If you wish to use the GoZ plugin with the Beta version of DAZ open DAZ Install Manager and select the "GoZ for DAZ Studio #.## (...) Public Build +Beta+" product and install it.
That should enable you to see the "Send to ZBrush" menu item in the Beta version of DAZ and enable you to send objects the DAZ Beta to ZBrush.

If you previously had the standard GoZ plugin installed it will be uninstalled (i.e. moved from the Installed list to the Ready to Install list in Install Manager).

There is a seperate setting inside of ZBrush that controls which version of DAZ ZBrush will send the morph information to.

I find that whichever version of the GoZ plugin I install it resets the setting inside of ZBrush so that it sends the morph from ZBrush to the Standard version of DAZ.
The setting inside of ZBrush also appears to reset to point to the standard version of DAZ whenever the GoZ plugin is updated.
Whenever I install the Public Build +Beta+ GoZ plugin I have to change the setting inside of ZBrush to send the morph to the Public Build +Beta+ verson of DAZ instead of the standard DAZ program.
The setting in ZBrush is in the Preferences > GoZ > path to DAZStudio64.
    In summary:
DAZ to ZBrush: In DAZ Install Manager install either the standard or the Beta version of the GoZ plugin.

ZBrush to DAZ: Inside ZBrush use the menu Preferences > GoZ > path to DAZStudio64 to sellect the version of DAZ that you want to send your morph to, either the standard DAZ or the DAZ Beta.

  • MimicMolly's Renders & WIPs

Earlier this week, I finally picked up DisparateDreamer's MingYue for Tika 8. I had seen this character featured in some Esha product promo renders and she reminded me of an OC I made with Genesis 1, named Niqui (stylized spelling of "Nicky") who I couldn't recreate because she was a mix of Aiko 3 shape and Stephanie 5 shape. So picking up a character that looked like a good starting point for Niqui was great. However, I don't have Tika 8 (or feel the need to get her, since Teen Josie 8 fills my "Thorne Doll" needs.)

Here are two quick renders of MingYue with no Tika 8 morph and one with Teen Josie 8 at 75%. (I like the Teen Josie 8 mix I did, since I feel that is true to Niqui.) The hair is Kent Hair, which I managed to get in some lucky sale for a bigger discount.

The outfit is called COD BO CW Park Glam for G8F. It is also available at Render Hub (not sure if I should name the other place I actually got it from.) I wanted the 70s hair that came with it, since DAZ doesn't seem to sell anything that has that look. I also need to track down that Dial-Them-Out thread and post Tika-less MingYue, since I think she adds something to the G8F genepool.

  • product containing "eyes relax" morph for g3f

As title says, I am looking for a product with "eyes relax" morph for g3f (not g8f). I tried to google but people mentioned about it but I don't have the morph and couldn't find any product with the morph. So I will be appreciate if someone can point a product with the morph for G3F. Thanks.

    NorthOf45 said:

I think some other morphs are interfering. If I load a Genesis 8 Female and apply the Lanuola character, or load a Lanuola character directly, I do not get any of the distortion you see. With the character selected (no expressions or other poses applied), select the Currently Used heading in the Parameters tab. There should only be Lanuola and Kayo head and body dials active. Look for any unexplained parameter settings. There will be a few other rather (supposedly) inconsequential parameters set, like several for Eyelashes, Eye Rim Refine HD, Eyes Cornea Bulge, Mouth Realism HD (doesn't seem to affect the gums or teeth).

It may also come from a hidden morph.

  • Transfer Utility - solved with Reverse Source Shape

    Good morning everybody

This is not the first thread about, but I was afraid to 'upload' an old thread, so I'll ask this one.

My model, g8f has a geoshell, after working textures on it, I exported it as '.obj' - (default Daz preset). I imported it to my viewport, it was perfect on g8f (perfect position, zero all). I tried to apply the Tranfer Utility in the following settings: 'dresses/knee lenght' and after the operation (g8f and .obj - both - are in A pose) the result was an actor in a wrong position on the Y axis (height) just above the g8f. How do I fix this problem?

EDIT: Reverse Source Shape option checked*

Too bad that it's G8.1F, which I don't want to jump to within the next 10 or so years, as there's even too many G3 and G8 figures in my wishlist still...

No kidding.  I could make a render with a different character every day for years just with the G3/G8 characters already in my library and never repeat... and that's before I start spinning morph dials.  Thus far I've seen very little in 8.1 that has impressed me at all, and given that the G8s were only a tiny bit more "advanced" than G3, 8.1 really feels like DAZ is trying to use the auto industry model, slapping on new paint and headlights just for the sake of something "new" to advertise.

Torment is great, but I wish he was 8 instead of 8.1.

  • How to fix hidden properties

There is nothing to fix with the hidden morphs, they are meant to be there with the values they show.

If the hair doesn't fit properly, you probably have some morph(s) on the character that doesn't have the "Autofollow" checked for them, or the bones are scaled unevenly, which seems to be a problem with some characters.

Does the hair fit to the "Genesis 8 Basic Female" properly?

  • How to fix hidden properties

    chris-2599934 said:

Hidden properties can be left alone most of the time, but if you feel the need to tweak them to make the item fit better, go ahead. They can be adjusted just like any other morph. It's not clear why you think them having a value other than zero is something that needs to be "fixed" though.

By the way, what hair is that?

This hair is made by myself.

I found that the hidden morphs for hair were mostly 100%. Some morphs are between 0% and 100%. Some morphs are between 0% and -100%. The negative values are not the same as the positive values when I use OBJ replacement. In reality I will only replace at 100%. Do you have a better way to do this.

  • How to fix hidden properties

    PerttiA said:

When you fit hair or clothing to a character, the morphs that are activated (value other than zero) on the character will be transferred also to the hair/clothing that is being fitted, with the same value that is used on the character - Nothing to fix.

The morphs transferred from the character are hidden on the fitted hair/clothing.

Those hidden morphs can also be used to improve how the item fits on the character, just move the dials as you like, or if you need more control to achieve what you want, select the figure and set the value on a suitable dial to 0.1% or 0.1, and the morph is being transferred to the fitted items where you can increase the value as you like.

     Thank you for the explanation.

I don't think the auto-match is perfect and not the result I wanted. I used Maya Blender to fix the hair and then replace these hidden morphs. Do I have to fix them one by one.

    Hey,
I'm not sure about everything else you mentioned but regarding "geometry changed", that can mean several things for sure.
    1. The topology of the mesh that you sent over to Z has ngons. That is autocorrected by Z upon entering and thus the topo is now not the same hence the prompt.

I'm not sure what you mean here - for morphs the polygons don't matter at all, what matters is the vertex count and order. I'm not aware that ZBrush will change the vertex count/order.

    -snip-

Interesting, and not something I had come across. It was tricky to see what it was actually doing to the mesh, as I said for a morph just splitting the polygons down using the existing vertices shouldn't be an issue (as I understand it).

  • Creating and sending Morphs from Blender back to Daz3D ?

After imported from Daz3D to Blender using the script, I sculpt test morph changes to the Genesis 8.1 Female model but...
when I pressed the button: "To Daz Morph" it shows python errors:
    Python Errors
Of course, I did make sure that "Auto Run Python Scripts" is checked in the settings as soon as I installed the Bridge plugin.
    * I'm using the latest stable versions of Blender and Daz3D (no beta)
Is there a solution to make it work without errors?
    Thanks ahead! :)

  • Teeth disotrtion with Lanuola character

There are a few tutorials on YouTube illustrating how to remove part of a morph from the full morph.

Only apply the ONE morph then put it into your Favourites. Select the unwanted vertices and remove them from your favourites. And save the 'new' morph to the same folder from which it came. {BACKUP the original morphs first}.

And file a ticket with CS to let them know so they can contact the artist so the artist can fix this and update their product ;-)  Posts below indicate that the problem is not with the character morph.

I think they almost look like burn scars, from an injury that wasn't severe enough to require a skin transplant, but enough to leave obvious scarring. That's probably not what it's meant to be, though. Are they really sculpted into the morph?! I thought it was just the texture having ridiculously high bump settings.

That could be. I didn't explore too much, only long enough to decide I was not a fan.

  • G8F Walking & Everyday Doorway Poses Sets

OK, more Everyday Doorway Poses. This is Set 4

The little story I had in my mind when doing these was G8F comes back to her shared house, finds a door locked, listens at it, hears something dreadful, phones her BFF, and slowly sinks to the floor as she describes the situation. Again mirrors and a zero pose too.

The leaning against the door could easily also be from being shattered after a horrible day at work. You decide. The phone is Foxclaw's freebie 'Phone12' at Rendo, and the wall is my 'Rigged Wall and Door'. Jeans are OOT Mega-wardrobe Superjeans, pocket Open2 morph 100% on the correct side for the bottom left pose. Think I'm getting close to exhausting my imagination for now with closed doors, one or two left but not many.. Soon I'll get to 'Entering through a partly open door'.

    Hope they are useful.

    Regards,

    Richard.

  • SOLVED Can morphs for the anatomical elements work with opposite gender character elements

    vwrangler said:

Yes,, the morphs for the male elements should work on the male-for-female elements. As Frinkky said, all you need to do is copy the morphs from one subdirectory to the equivalent subdirectory in the G81 male-for-female directory. I've tested that out a while back, and there weren't any issues.

But this nonsense with duplicating complete morph trees would not have been necessary if the Daz guys would have done their homework:

    • Putting the geometry file for the female version of the G8M anatomical elements into the already present G8M elements directory (with altered file name)
    • Using this geometry file for the loader preset, also linking to the original G8M UV map

Same counts for the male version of the G8F anatomical elements.

All the available morphs for G8M anatomical elements would work also with the female version and vice versa. But seems to me, this mess was intended - for making things more complicated as they would have to be. And with the file names of the loader presets "advertice" the new Genesis 8.1 and suggest that these transgender versions will work only with that - well, but that's clearly not the case.

For my personal purposes I have moved the geometry file and adjusted the .DUF loader, everything works like expected, there are NO issues.
