By chance anyone know these horns?I know they're not the exact ones, but not too different: https://www.daz3d.com/tara-2-hd-for-victoria-7-victoria-8 Regards, Richard.Genesis 3 and 8 to 9 Pose Converter (Commercial)
Hi, I just wanted to extol the great value of this 3 and 8 to 9 pose converter!
In about 35 minutes I converted 16,000+ Genesis 3 male/female, Genesis 8 male/female and Genesis 8.1 male/female poses to Genesis 9!
...and they are all context aware in smart content when I have a Genesis 9 figure selected!
At first I thought, why batch convert these poses when I can just convert them on the fly?
Well converting them on the fly is a lot of extra steps when you could just double click and apply the pose!
This is one of the best working and fully functional products available in the Daz store. Is it almost perfect? No, it is perfect!
The poses go on as expected and the tweaking needed is only because each figure has its own unique shape and size.
As if I don't have enough poses already, but I went out and bought another few thousand Michael 4 and Victoria 4 poses.
Could you please make a converter for M4 and V4 to Genesis 9? It is noteworthy that there were a ton of poses that were made for M4 and V4.
Having the entire pose library available for Genesis 9 would be really nice!
I have exponentially more poses for M4 and V4 than I do for Genesis (1)
Thanks in advance!

You can't just save it as a preset since each figure has their own UV mapping and the new geograts that come with the cayman studio products are there to help with the different UV mapping.. You would need to find a program that can convert one UV map to another. You could try Ultimate Unwrap 3D, they have a tutorial from G2 to G8 https://www.unwrap3d.com/u3d/tutorial_uv_mapping_repaint_mesh.aspx
Strictly, the grafts are to help with the different breakdown into surfaces - if the boundaries were the same then a simple remapping would work.
To be even more specific, the main problem is that the way polygons are distributed between texture files is different, and you sometimes would need to use parts of 2 different texture files to cover a single surface of the target figure, which is something DS can't do, so those surfaces need to be split.
OP, you said you used "legacy UVs - Victoria 5" so I assume the original skin uses V5 UVs. Since IIRC G2F also has V5 UVs, the tutorial in this thread to convert G2F textures into G3F textures with Blender might work to create a "G3F UVs" version of the textures, that you could use directly on G8F: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59665/tutorial-converting-textures-from-gen2-to-gen3/p1
Creating new skin for GF8I have a skin from a GF1 that I want to use on my GF8 model.
I have used the Legacy UVs for Genesis 8: Victoria 5.
It worked as I would have expected and I got a fabulous result.
I would now like to make this into a skin for the GF8 and GF8.1 models that I can just apply like any other .duf material file saved for a figure.
I have tried using the Save As: Hierarchical Materias but this results in the skin being applied without the geo-crafted maps.
How do I create a new skin that fits on the GF8 model that is complete?
Thanks.
UDIM for Victoria 4UDIMs are just separating the tiles by moving them a whole number of units along the U axis (or V, but U is the default). Victoria 4 already has a suitable mapping, the only thing it lacks is selecting all the polygons that belong to a single map and translating them a set number of units along the U axis - any tool that can edit UVs should be able to do that, it has always been possible to give coordinates outside the unit square (which then get wrapped back to the unit square, which is how the UDIM system works).

UDIM for Victoria 4Hi All
I'm trying to add a normal map to an old V4 texture set and having an issue with the stacked UV's. There is a UDIM for Genesis but I'm looking for the same thing for any pre-genesis ... or any other work arounds anyone can think of. Can the obj itself be manipulated in a text editor?
Character Mix in ‚Demetria Hair‘?If you scroll all the way down she says additional products used in the promo pictures were Josie 9 and Victoria 9? So could it be a blend of those characters with Olympia 9? I just don't know the exact "recipe."
There's Always Another Sale Thread -- Discussions OnlyThanks for the replies. I didn't get a single one, as opposed to last year, when I was getting a couple every single day, for as long as they've been priced at 2$.
4$ + around 2$ buy-in is still 6$, js

Only when there's a spotlight item I want. 5.99 doesn't feel like a deal in comparison to the last year's 1.99 (and 3.99 is still a 200% increase from last year).
To me, the biggest bust is BYOB. At 5.99 (again, 200% increase) there's no appeal to browse through at all.
Every category seems like a bust to me

Including the bundles that used to be "free" (you needed to be a member - so not exactly free) and now are 11$ (10$ buy in +1$ price).Nothing special on individual + items either. It supposed to be a + sale right?

Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures part 3
I think this beautiful character is loosely based on Charlize Theron ( I can see the likeness in some of the promos). Her and the character are the same height too.deepred6502 said:HID3D's latest, Ashley, is somewhat tall (177cm / 5'9.7"), but StarByFace's guesses (Katheryn Winnick, Ashley Benson, Jessica Chastain, Malin Akerman) don't match the height.
PS. Still trying to identify the hairdos in the HID Emmy promos.

PPS: The 2nd & 6th promo pic look like Soft Curls Ponytail for G9, and I'm not sure about the others, though they seem to lean towards the style of AprilYSH or OOT.
PPPS: To narrow things down, the 1st pic is quite likely a ponytail style. For some reason the search engine's borked again so I can't set any filters.

V4 hair/clothing fitting to G8F?If you load Genesis (the original, Genesis 1) and then the Victoria 4 clothes you should get the Autofit dialogue (if not select the clothes and then use the Fit to button in thje Parameters pane ti fit them to Genesis) - set the source figure to Victoria 4 and optionally set a clothing type. Now select the converted clothing and fit it to Genesis 8 Female, using the button in the Parameters pane, to get an AutoFit dialogue - this time set the Source figure as Genesis (because it's been converted). This will also work for some hair, but it's often better just to manually plae and adjust the ahir on the new character and then parent it to the head - that way you keep any bones for things like tails.
V4 hair/clothing fitting to G8F?Hello, I'm still basically a beginner and I haven't really been able to find an answer to this - from what I see, Victoria 4 was the version right before Genesis ("1"). I mostly work with Genesis 8 so far, and I wonder if hair or clothing made for Victoria 4 has a chance to decently fit G8? I have got pretty good results with hair/poses/clothing made for Genesis 2/3 (usually with just a bit of manual adjustment), and I wonder if items made for V4 should also work alright or the generation difference will be just too big. (The main reason being that it seems very hard to find free/affordable hair, and it seems there are some good options for V4.)
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Unreal Engine 5 dynamically adjusts geometry AND texture sizes on the fly as needed in a given scene, totally nullifying your key points ..
Sure the shaders are different ..
Again that may work for a static object as a prop, but unfortunately not for animation, especially character animation. The culprit is HD morphs and jcms especially used by G9 other than most HD figures. The game engine can of course use dynamic subdivision and textures, this is not new 3delight can do it as well that's ages ago, but this only supports the HD shape, not HD morphs. Unless you export alembic, but that would be a huge requirement in terms of memory for HD animations.
Then there's the shaders as you agree on, that's not a minor point at all.
People are doing this right now, and have been for a while. Their computers are not exploding under these extremely massive Genesis models that supposedly make game engines explode. Maybe it's magic? Maybe it's Maybeline?
In this video here, a fellow sends Victoria 9 to Unreal. She is wearing just a bikini, but the point I want to make here is that he does nothing special to her materials during the process. He imports her and applies a basic Unreal skeleton and that's it. Yet somehow she looks fine? She doesn't look the same as she does in Iray, obviously, but that is to be expected, and most importantly she doesn't look like a freak. She looks just like the Victoria 9 we all know. Also, he gives her a hair from Metahuman, a video game hair. So he skips using a Daz hair. You don't have to limit yourself to Daz assets. It is possible to add things in the game engine software. But he got a huge head start on the model by using a Genesis.
That is like the whole purpose of Daz Studio and Genesis, you don't have to create a model from scratch, but you can also modfy and add to the model if you wish. You are missing the boat here complaining that game engines cannot handle Genesis. Clearly they can.
Daz Studio has some pretty harsh requirements itself, unless you enjoy rendering for hours on end. An older CPU can and will struggle just running the viewport in Daz. The 3d world is simply not too kind to people who lack hardware. It can be done, but painfully. There is no difference here between Daz Studio and other software in this regard. Look how many people in this forum have 3090s, 4090s, or multiple GPUs just to render Daz Studio faster. There is a wide spectrum of users here, and some are only using an old laptop with a CPU. You can do that with video games, too, BTW. Just like Daz, you don't get to do a lot with such hardware, but you can still enjoy a wide variety of games on a fairly junky laptop. I see no difference here. The people rocking high end hardware will obviously be able to take better advantage of this software.
But is worth repeating what Mada said, you don't need a high end PC for this new app. You don't even need a PC. You can do this on a tablet as the software runs in the cloud. Somebody can get their kicks without any decent hardware. Now certainly exporting to a game engine is not going to work very well with just a tablet, but the point is that they can use this text to Daz app on anything and make renders.
As long as the app is not a technical disaster, which frankly is hard to say with Daz-Tafi, it has a lot of potential.

GoosebumpsI just tried using some fabric bumps on Genesis 8 Female and that was too symetrical.
I found Goosebumps for Victoria 4 at the other shop by Exnem.
I was so curious, I found a tutorial on YouTube: (1877) Daz Studio | How to GooseBumps for skin? | Tutorial - YouTube
Maybe that could help. I didn't watch it, however :(

What is the actual AI element here? I think there are some misunderstandings.
This app does not generate Daz assets. It is not generating a model. It is not using Daz models as training data. What I saw was a piece of software using text prompts to control it. THAT is where the AI is. The AI is in the control interface via text recognition. Just imagine yourself using text prompts to tell Daz Studio what you want, and there you go. We see Victoria 9 at the top of the page where it prompts "Make her eyes bigger" (I am sure that is what everybody is going to make bigger, LOL.) That pretty much shows what this is.
It is important to be clear on what this is, because when people see "AI" they logically think there is an element of generation here, and there are apps that can create 3D objects.
Correct - new mesh is not being created, nor is the AI trained on PA's mesh. The AI is pulling from data in the store to create a scene in Daz Studio, based on your prompts. The advantage for especially new users is time - you don't have to go and scroll through pages of products to maybe find what you want. By typing you can instantly get all the relevant spacesuits, change the colour, change gender etc. If you don't know how to set up lighting, no problem. Add a scene? Done. Don't have a computer? Do it on your tablet and receive a render.
I have not seen how this software is monetized. There's really only a few ways to do it. A monthly fee or it asks you to buy the parts it uses to build the thing you ask it to. Considering how messy that could get, I assume this must be a monthly fee, and Tafi divides the money with PAs who have their products used. I am guessing there will be different tiers of plans, with some limits on how much you can create with smaller plans.
There could also be a "Pay per creation" model, but I don't think most people would want that as they at least want to play around first. After all, somebody will probably want to make a NVIATWAS for a giggle. And then they might want to make a more serious MSIACRACP (Michael Standing in a Christian Rock Album Cover Pose). You got have balance!
I can think of several ways - but keep in mind that this is the BETA - direction can change during testing, new features added that might not be obvious right now. Personally I think it would be a pay for what you use in the render or exported scene. Add an interactive license if you need one. I already saw a number of people excited that they can access Daz models without going through the process of creating something in Daz Studio.
Take the uses a bit further. One of the problems with using Daz Studio in schools is of course the nude models aspect. Using it with an AI in charge, you can set parameters to never show nudity. They can render out images without ever needing to open the program.
Or say an app writer needs to come up with a consistent character for his app - image AIs right now is time consuming to learn to get consistent results, and then there's the fingers problem :D Render out several consistent and themed images from Daz Studio, without needing to learn complicated prompt crafting or a a program that's not in your skill set.I am sure users here can come up with plenty of use case scenarios. The tech is new, and a lot of people are not familiar with AI at all.
