Impossible installation of Daz studio

Neither Daz central (stop at 93% after prompting daz helper installation) not DIM (one file is missing or can't be read) can install Daz on my computer.

I have tried on two different computers W10 and w11

Uninstall through Daz central if that is what it was installed by, though Instal manager should also work since they behave in the same way.

Daz has updated itself, possibly via Daz Central but now looks like the attached screenshot.

How can I retore Daz to look and work properly as it is inoperable as it is?

Did you move the database, and did you update the path for it if so (and not if not).

Sorry to necro the thread, but I followed these steps for the same reason as OP, and moved my library to a 5TB external drive. Now however it seems my Smart Content tab is empty. It's not a game breaker, obviously, as i use the Content Library tab for just about everything, but the smart content tab does *occasionally* make finding something faster, as i've started to amass a pretty hefty list of assets. It also appears the same is true for Daz Central. I've updated the base path location, it recognizes it as the new library on my external drive, yet the dashboard tells me that all of my assets are uninstalled. Is there a way to re-direct where these two are looking for the files? I've looked by can't seem to find a way.

How about this? 125mm dia, 50 deep. Central circle of lower section is a different material (could be black to hide camera). Simple obj file, simple planar tex mapping from straight underneath which means the tex on the sides will be stretched a bit. Based on the one in the office I'm in today.

I can assure you that its downloading the wrong file.

To one of of the above posters i didnt download it with both DIM and Daz Central. I only downloaded with Daz Central I checked the package files with the DIM

Hey guys am not very technical but i also had the same problem of being stuck at that install button, So i ended up going to task manager and ending the daz central that i was running..and when i re-opened it again i realised that the install button had disappeared, I went on my desktop and i saw that its already been installed...hope this helps and sorry i cant write proper english..if it makes sense then yah god bless haha ! 

Unless I have to redownload literally EVERY asset in my library, I'd be fine with just re-downloading daz. How do I go about that? Since I did install daz through daz central

Several years back, I had to stop dabbling with CGI and only started again recently. DAZ Studio is kind of new to me and I am still trying to make sense of the tutorials. There is one thing that I haven't been able to figure out: While I am able to use old content that DAZ Central conveniently downloaded and imported, I can't get a specific scene to render. Other items and scenes render without issues. The item in question is Winter Kingdom: Castle Ruins (08.2011). I've tried loading it, then just pressed 'render'. The system shows it's doing several passes but the render window remains black. All props are visible as wire mesh etc. I thought it might be the camera position and zoomed out but it was the same result. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or is the prop broken?

No, that is where the folder would be with a default Install Manager installation. Daz Central, or a customised Install Manager, will use a different path - I woudl hope that there was a way to modifiy the path (e.g. by setting the location of the application) in Diffeomorphic - but you should ask in the thread on the importer.

If you have installed within Daz Studio, then that has priority if you also use other installation methods, even if that install is broken.

You can try inside DS to right-click the product icon and select uninstall, and after that try to install with Daz Central.

Yes, I did the original update from within Studio, and the re-install from Central.  Now it won't install at all anymore, it freezes halfway.  I am at a loss here.  The old version did not have this /&%$(

What I did "wrong" is that I updated the content directory back to the my original "F:My DAZ 3D Library/" instead of the "F:My DAZ 3D Library/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/Content database/" suggested by DIM. I don't see the point of spreading content all around, particularly under so many subfolders.

That looks like the Daz Central path if you set its base to F:My DAZ 3D Library/ - if you made similar overrides elsewhere when switchign to DIM you may have ended up with unattached or nested content directories. Not necessarily related to the current issue, but assuming you can get back to the application it would be a good idea to post your directory settings in DIM and Daz Studio to be sure nothing is going to add more issues.

As I had already installed some content under all those subfolders, I just moved everything under my simple (well, a lot simpler) folder. I know I was being naughty with all this manual installing..

The dblog file comments my attempts to start DS like this:
LOG:  database system is ready to accept connections
LOG:  autovacuum launcher started
FATAL:  role "marti" does not exist
"marti" seems to refer to my user account, as my email address starts with "martin"... So this would indicate my problem might not be with all my hassle with the folders, but instead with my account??
BTW, Install manager reports all my previous 20 installs are ok, but does not recognize all my earlier installed content.
