Daz3d VR Studio?
if only Octane render was fully integrated,
I literally can move around sets using the old Carrara OR4 plugin with a spherical lens and side by side stereoscopic viwports using my 980ti
which suggests it's more than possible
I sadly don't own a headset to find out if I can feed it there
maybe D|S5 with Filament

I really don't know where to start with everything else even if I decided to sell a print, my filament printer has gathered dust in the laundry for several years
bought ones for DAZ studio 4 with the starter essentials and the big V4 and M4 bundles I own, then threw my hands up in exasperation and stopped
V3 M3 all the discontinued DAZ figures like Millennium cat ...
You could have used the existing thread. You don't need a printing license for content you model yourself from scratch, only for content from the store 9including that bundled with Carrara - which is presumably what you have in your cart).

Would be great to hear an official update on the status of this project. Think it's safe to say the announcement from last year was premature so it would be professional to dissolve some of the mystery surrounding the situation.
That's what gets to me; the lack of communication concerning what or when to expect something. I understand the M1 Mac is/was a new thing at the time but this process has taken so long that even the M1 Mac is now outdated! I've finally given up on the wait and uninstalled the Daz content on my M1 Macbook Air. I have the 256GB version and can't afford to just let gigs of Daz content continue to waste space on my drive for another 2+ years.
But Daz was able to get 4.x.x.x working on M1 machines, which is why they are not pushing for an early release on DS5 as they were - Install manager seems to eb better than Daz Central on the M1 systems, but once you have that and the current Daz Studio you should be able to work.
Yes DIM works much better than Daz Central on my M1 - I have little to no issues installing content and running Daz; it's just the overall lack of performance from Daz not being optimized to run on the M1. When I first purchased the M1 (which I admittedly jumped the gun on) I was kinda expecting iray/filament to work 'out of the box' and just expected better overall. For the extent of the wait for Daz 5 my solution was to export my Daz scenes to Blender - seeing as it is better optimized for rendering on M1 than Daz. But even that has it's own hiccups and issues in which I'm not as proficient in the Blender program, so I slowly lost interest.
You may want to adjust your expectations a bit more as although Iray will utilize CPUs, it's designed and optimzed to use Cuda specifically (only Nvidia GPU). DS5 won't change this fact.
Probably not, but at least it will be native ARM code and not translated x86-64 code. :-)
White Navigation in the Viewport... Problem!I had the same issue, it was after I tested the DrawStyle "NVIDIA Iray", clicked the little icone beside and clicked on the scne :everything then went white when I choose back the DraStyle "Filament".
I found the solution in this thread : Horrendous overexposure problem - Daz 3D Forums
The problem comes from some render settings : in Editor tab select "Tone Mapping" and check "Exposure value" = if the value is white it has been changed, try to reset it (for me the default value is 13).
It corrected the issue for me.

I don't have Iray turned on when this is happening. Guess I should have said that up front. I mostly use a viewport mode called "texture shaded view" or something like that, to keep the computer from bogging down.

I have a MBP M1 and it is picky as all get out when I use DIM and D|S. I can experience crashes 6 out of 10 uses, with the external hard drives disappearing. I have become quite good at Disk Utility now. But I have to back-up the content, which can take up to 15 hours onto other external hard drives to avoid having to redownload my content. I have to download on DIM one item at a time, and install one time at a time. And I can't do both functions at the same time. Nor get too many qued up to do. I hold my breath when I have a large Mb file to download. Yesterday I was in the middle of a download when DIM kicked my external off the grid. It took me about an hour to get it back and continue downloading.
UltraScenery XT cannot be installed on it at all, as we found out when it came out.
I can only type one word in any search window, it does not allow for a space between words.
I keep hoping Filament will be available, I like it on my Win 10 computers.
Can we get an update please Daz?
I put in a call to our resident Mac expert CV to see if they can help you out any.

This sounds very unusual, I don't think I've heard of anyone else having this much trouble. I've been using an m1 iMac for a year now with no issues at all, and download dozens of items at a time without a problem using DIM. I also do regular back-ups or transfers of large libraries without a blip, and have had zero issues with file names. I'm still using Big Sur.
I'm running with 16 GB RAM and 2 TB of built-in drive space, and have two or three externals (2 x 4 TB and 1 x 5 TB); is it possible you're having some issues with lower specs? Even then, this still doesn't sound right. Hopefully a Mac System guy will chime in and help you out, as I don't think a simple DAZ Studio will solve any of this. You should post this in the Mac FAQ forum.

I've just done the same, almost 2 years later, and your comment came up... nothing else about requirements for Daz Filament anywhere!
What would be really handy Tafi (if you're reading this) is to put a system requirements notification on https://www.daz3d.com/filament-information-page so that Mac users don't spend hours trying to work out why Filament is not working.
Is ths going to be included for Mac? I'm really wanting to try out my Silicon Max chip out on a native render engine.
DAZ told us they had it working on Macs last year when they cancelled the pre-Beta and that we'd see it when they release DAZ Studio 5, so any month (or year) now...
-- Walt Sterdan
Daz Studio 5 development updateCommunication updates from the company more than once annually would be nice.
The release of the pre-Beta wasn't for the m1 specifically so much as it was to allow Mac users of m1- OR Intel-based machines to run DAZ Studio with Big Sur (and now Monterey). Until Apple stepped in to help, DAZ's plan was to release the pre-Beta last summer just to keep users of newer Macs engaged and to release DAZ Studio 5 around New Year's. Apple was able to help them get things working for the Mac's newer operating systems, so the pre-Beta was cancelled. Although they thought theyd'd be able to release DAZ 5 by New Year's, I guess they figured the pressure was off and here we are, almost eight months after they thought they'd be releasing DAZ 5 with no release date in sight.
The only things I was looking forward to with DAZ 5 were the ability to use Filament directly on the Mac, and the possibiliity of a 64-bit replacement for their 32-bit, Mimic-based lip synching software.
I understand that the longer they are able to take in development, the more stable and fuller-featured the actual release will be, so no problem there. I get it.
I will continue using DAZ and my 20+ years worth of assets, but at this point I think I'm going to put the brakes on purchasing more assets or renewing my Platinum+ until DAZ 5 is release and I see if it's what I need. I could be wrong, but I think most of the updates to the program in the last year (once it worked on Macs) has been keeping iRay running well for as many people as possible, and as I don't use iRay, there's been little development aimed at my wants or needs. iRay users are the vast majority, so again, no problem, I get it.
Fingers crossed for DAZ 5 by New Year's!

Decisamente devi cambiare PC radicalmente.

Face transfer face/skin color helpHello so I figured out FT only really works for G8 not G8.1
But I'm having a dilemma where the skin will appear vastly different from the body,
I wondered if it was the asian tattoos I added but wouldn't that not effect skin coloration?
I also notice its a lot harder to notice in filament.
Is there a way to fix?
Or is that something I commission some for?
Thank you!
