I use DAZ Central to find files I can't locate until I get comfortable with finding them.

Trying to access, say, Genesis 8 Male Body (or Head) Morphs or the female version only ends up with the attached message.

It keeps saying to download a needed file (without telling me what file) or that I can find it at DAZ (which I cannot).

What's a schmoe to do?

Hm, this might be true.

First version: central area is illuminated by point and spot lights. Area outside the ring of pillars is illuminated with self-made ghost lights (Opacity 0.0000001, Luminance 1000000000 cd/cm^2)

Second version: All ghost lights are made normal emissives (Opacity 1, Luminance 200 cd/cm^2)

Both versions reached Max Samples of 15000. I think rendering time was roughly the same, I didn't really pay attention to that. Second version had reached higher convergence by the time it had reached Max Samples.

2nd version definitely looks less grainy, including in the central area, which in both versions is illuminated by normal lights.

So I just need to log out in DS and delete the content in the DAZ Connect folder and half my storage will come back? 

I feel like that simple of a statement should be included somewhere in the process - choose one of Connect, DIM or Central, not multiples. 

Daz Central seems to be a bit fussier about MacOS versions, it may be worth trying Install Manager instead (though I thought this generally affected Big Sur or later) https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/

I get no Install button on the Daz Central Hexagon screen. It should be above “Version Details,” according to Daz Help Center.

I have new computer and try to install Daz studio via Daz central (on my old one it was older version installed withouth it) and every few moments i face issues - the installation stops.
Once it moved over 32% to be back into 28% moment later and then stop installing. Right now it managed to reach 63% but constatly keeps stopping and install since 0 over and over. 

What can I do ? reinstalling didnt changed anything at all

I am using windows 10 and its new laptop, which shouldn't have any sort of issues. 

And if you use DIM to install your content, do not log in to DS (ever), do not let DS use your credentials to log in to DAZ servers automatically.

Logging in to DS is only necessary when you use DAZ Connect inside DS to install content, and if you install content inside DS, installing them with DIM or DAZ Central has no purpose as any content installed by DAZ Connect inside DS, overides content installed by all the other means - One is just wasting space installing everything at least to two different locations.

Don't use DIM and Central.  Central is a dumbed down version of DIM so stick to using DIM.

...however, you are in west central Canada where like Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, that can be expected  (I remember snow in late April and even early May). Here In Portland the normal temperature for this time of year is about 12° higher than Edmonton AB, or Steven's Point WI. Normally we are in the low to mid 60s but have been about 12° - 15° below normal since the weekend.  I confirmed with life long residents (a few even older than me) here that Monday's snowfall was the latest they have ever seen in the city.

Well, if the Daz Connect version iss till isntalled the Daz central files will be conmpletely ignored so it could just be an issue with the Connect files. Try uninstalling those and see if the Central version then works.

Thank you. Yeah Im going to get a couple of portable SSD. So, both Daz Central and DIM will install to wherever you tell it to easy enough?

On both DAZ connect and DAZ central, it shows a download status bar, then completes.  The Icon for the product shows as available to install, but disappears (does not show in any tabs after).  Trying to open the product from the 'open' option on DAZ central opens studio, but then says requested resource not installed and listes the DUF file as unavailable

Purchased the Renee character, does not install properly through either DAZ Connect or DAZ Central.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't understand the question. I use install manager to install the necessary addons for daz to function since it's missing those when I installed daz. I'm installing daz with daz central. So I'm using both.

The problem is that upon opening daz I get an error seen above. It looks like daz isn't properly installing. How do I fix that?

Which are you using - Daz Central or Install Manager?

I install daz, but every time I close daz central and reopen it, daz central isnt installed. Upon clicking install, it starts at 86% every time. It seems like it doesn't fully install. This would only be mildly annoying, but every time I open daz after "reinstalling" it gives me a popup saying it couldnt get a connection to postgre sql. But I already installed that in DIM! What on earth is happening here? I've tried a full uninstall and reinstall of Daz central already.

It's incredibly frustrating that I haven't been able to get daz to work for the past near week...

I read the DAZ Connect FAQ thread. I also tried to search for my following question but the keywords are too common. I use Install Manager and DAZ Studio, not DAZ Central (and I really don't have any desire to change that yet). I'm running a Windows 11 machine with plenty of storage (for now). I am a new user with minimal understanding of DAZ but fair knowledge of Windows file structures (not expert or professional though - I have generally eliminated the problem between keyboard and computer, though). 

Question: Do I need both DAZ Connect and My DAZ 3D Library paths and folders? 

It looks like the data is duplicated but the size of the folders on my hard drive doesn't match exactly so I'm confused. I understand DAZ Connect provides all of the updates and interaction to the store. I want to keep that. Is the My DAZ 3D Library just there for legacy purposes now? Can I delete it?

Hi,
I am a new Daz3d Studio user, I am having some problems while rendering a dforce hair (Kensington Hair), even in a very simple scene (Genesis 8.1 female + hair, nothing else) using Iray (photoreal).
As soon as I start the render, my PC halts and I have to manually reset it.
This did not happen until a couple of days ago, I have some renders with this hair and a character + outfit. Now the same scene I had rendered before does not render anymore and my PC stops working.
I suspect something has corrupted, I have reinstalled Daz Central + Studio and the hair content, but nothing changed. Should I reinstall something else? 

I also run a memory test of my PC that gave no errors. The Windows event log does not show anything anomalous, except the forced restart. My PC is usually very stable (never halts doing other things) so no doubt that it is Iray to halt it.

My PC has Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 8GB RAM and Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU, but the render happens in the CPUs. I do not complain about render times, but in this case the PC halts completely.

I've a lot Daz products both from Daz shop and other sites.

My assets/products seem to be all over the place. I sometimes come across stuff I didnt know I had - there seems to be so many files and paths now. 

In my content library, I have 4 Files

My library ....C:\Users\admin\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library

My Daz 3D library ....C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

My Daz library .....C:\Daz 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library

And then, MY Library....C:\Users\admin\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library

Could I delete some of these files and re-install products from Daz central or DIM - maybe creating my own filepath, say on my dsktop where I could keep everything in one place?. Would Dim be better for installing assets than central ?
