Lycan Female Released?
Yes, it needs to update metadata to know that you have the product to display it and enable download. I don't think these have an offline installer option, certainly the one I just checked didn't.
Video as Backgroundnothing interactive in D|S sadly, are several animated texture scripts available using image series but they only work as it renders
free
https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/texanimfords3
are a few in the DAZ store too
I use other softwares that do video and png series myself when I can, it's something that has always frustrated me about D|S
Carrara, iClone, Blender, Twinmotion, Poser, many more do animated textures
if getting DAZ characters into something too hard I just import animated renders on billboards with alpha instead

You need to log into DS and the update your metadata, and it should appear in the smart content via Connect
Is that bolded part accurate? I have Lycan Female in my product library on the website, but it hasn't appeared inside Studio since I picked it up in October. I haven't allowed connect to update my metadata - something I'm loathe to do because every time I have allowed it to do that, I've ended up reinstalling my entire library from scratch (no joke).
Kalei (Kai Premier exclusive) installed from DIM weeks before I used my coupon on the bundle *shrug*. That doesn't seem right either, but makes me wonder why these exclusives being delivered in different ways (particularly as one of them isn't working for me).
Buy Something That Doesn't Work in Carrara? Post your Questions and Workarounds here. (please)what I would try is exporting the morphed mesh from DS as well as the original mesh both in OBJ format for DS ( in base reolution ).. then I would import the original mesh and then create the morph by importing the morphed mesh.. then I would transfer the bones from the original DS mesh to the new mesh and then save that out. This usually works for me when I want DS morphs that don't work in Carrara.
Buy Something That Doesn't Work in Carrara? Post your Questions and Workarounds here. (please)I'm trying to use Studio more to take advantage of some of its features, specifically dForce. I purchased a dForce dress (1940sDress for G8F from Renderocity. I brought it into Studio and converted it to Blended Weights then imported it into Carrara. It works well, but I'd like to use dForce to drape it to look more natural. In Studio I used dForce and got the look I wanted. I used the dForce2Morph script to convert the simulation to a morph. It works well in Studio and you can see the new morph. Unfortunately, when I export the new dress (with my morph) as a scene subset or a wearablethen import it into Carrara, the morph isn't there. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

And, can be directly imported to Daz for my use or have to pass for store first ?Once you have modelled something with a modeller (Blender, Modo, Hexagon, Zbrush and likely many others) or find a model of something you want in Daz Studio, I think that outside of the tool to import HD morphs into Daz Studio (Daz is reserving that tool to PAs selling on Daz, for items sold on Daz), Daz Studio have everything someone needs to create props or wardrobe items for Daz Studio, either only for their own personal use or to sell to / share with other people.
Mada shared lots of tricks and advices on her Youtube channel regarding clothes:

Jay Versluis also have a treasure troves of videos on various subjects like rigging props, clothes, etc:

They are others than these two, but Mada and Jay are the ones that came first to my mind.

Esha's tutorials on daz store are kinda complete but are obviously not freeFor actually making the model, Blender can do everything for making clothing models. Marvelous Designer is not free but is very good. Substance Painter is also paid but good for texturing. Cant see needing more than those three. Perhaps zbrush also but only you if you outgrow blender which is unlikely.
Artifacts in Texture Shaded/Wire Shaded viewHi there!
I'm a new DAZ Studio user and I want to import some models I made in Blender to Daz. Aftrer importing I found there were always many artifacts on models in Texture Shaded/Wire Shaded view , and the shapes of them changed as the viewing angle changed. In PBR or render there are no problems, normal map works well. I got no clue about that, is it because my topology is unreasonable for Daz?
newbieDiffeomorphic is not compatible with the daz bridge, as they use very different methods to import the daz figures. You either use one or the other.

If you mean a standalone character you made in external application, then you want to rig it with G8 / G9 skeleton... better use some software like Faceform Wrap.... i.e. wrap it with a G8 / G9 OBJ, then import the wrapping result onto G8 / G9 in DS as morphs.
It's also possible to skip the wrapping and just rig the figure as is to G9's skeleton. You wouldn't have access to the morphs, but you could still apply poses and accessories.
Ah yea... but how to easily rig a toon figure from outside to a G9's skeleton... without that "cumbersome workflow" we know?
A quick question about PA's who have stuff here and on 3rd party'sRichard Haseltine said:
What do you mean? Content Wizard is doing a very different set of tasks from DIM, which is simply inserting the Daz-created metadata into the local database.
Content Wizard will also install (single items or in bulk) and generate DIM-compatible packages.

Manual installs are normally super simple. Open the zip folder, click content so. You see the people, runtime, data folders, select then all and drag and drop into your daz directory.... Done xD Doing this also makes sure you can trace the exact directory of where it goes, especially when a vendor accidently spells enviorment wrong for decides to put a character in a folder called Characterz by accident. Has happened plenty
This has been my experience, as well. Issues only arise when you implement some non-standard directory system. Some people can't resist doing this, but it usually causes problems.
If you use Smart Content, there's Content Wizard | Daz 3D. It does a better job of creating Smart Content than the Daz Install Manager. What do you mean? Content Wizard is doing a very different set of tasks from DIM, which is simply inserting the Daz-created metadata into the local database.

Daz Bridge Support Is Here!Could there be a 'Daz to BeamNG.drive' Bridge?
I am just a beginner user of Daz and enjoy adding your characters to my BeamNG.drive screenshots and it seems like a logical progression, well, to me at least
to be able to import the Daz characters fully clothed and posed with materials to be placed with in a screenshot scene or creative cinematic videos of which there are numerous talented people that do these within the BeamNG.drive community.Only thinking out loud as this could open up a whole new genre of users to Daz3D Studio

A video below of one such talented creator within the BeamNG.drive community.
Export/import posesDear,
I have a character with a personal configured pose.
Can I export this or another poses in order to import or apply to another characters to avoid setting up each joint again ?
In case of yes, are there some limit as same Genesis and so on ?
At this moment, my needs is to use apply a pose from a Genesis 8 character to Genesis 9.
Many thanks, Xavi

Thank you both. After the big migrations from the other store where all the products were missing both metadata for smart content and readmes, they got linked in my head.

Do I Have This Correct? Something New I Am Doing With Property Hierarchy / ERC Freezing Stuff.I think in general you would want bend and Side-to-side correctives, then a final corrective that applied when both the bend and side-to-side were in effect to cancel out any interference - this is where Reverse Deformations in the importer is really useful as you can make the final shape for Bend+Side-to-side, then import it with Reverse Deformations on and all that will be left are the adjustments.

@Stargazey - The mass of products that don't have MetaData in are ones that were brought over from Renderosity when the vendors moved their stores so we really don't have much control over that as they were pre-existing products.
We actually do feedback on the images/challenge and techniques to answer questions and offer solutions so it's all part of the learning Daz Studio process we foster here in the New User Challenges! I do understand where you are coming from though and it sounds like the Art Studio forum may be what you are looking for. You can post your images there and ask for critiques and feedback or you are more than welcome to stay here with us! Either way whatever you choose to do is your choice and we wish you well!!
@iaunpom - I like the adjustment in height for Ronflyd! As for the flooring which ship are you using? You could always try a different shader on the floor to see if it's the mesh or the texture real quick, you might even find one you like better lol Oh also are you doing the Beginner or Intermediate Challenge this month?@Shinji Ikari 9th - Ok this may sound strange coming from the "add more lighting" girl, however I think this one may get more atmosphere from turning down the lights and having the fires around the platform be the main lighting in the scene so that you see mainly glowing eyes from the monster coming out of the tunnel and the outside of the ring is darker. ATM the lighting feels really evenly spread around the scene which is giving it a flat feeling if that makes sense? Are you doing the Beginner or Intermediate Challenge this month?
@YT - Very cool! I love that you have the cyborg wearing Nike lmao I would suggest adding some more dirt to them though since the cape of her cloak has a lot of dirt stains on it ;) There is also some mesh folding around the hood, you can get rid of this via postwork or using the smoothing modifier on the hood.
- Edit - Figure - Geometry - Add Smoothing Modifier
The default is loaded in with Base Shape Matching and the iterations set to 2. Usually this is plenty for the mesh to smooth out but sometimes you get a better result switching Base Shape Matching to Generic from the dropdown box!
haha that's right, I think they'll never go out of fashion ^^
Oh yes, that's right, I did add something, but from this point of view it's actually still too little.
Right, I'll see if I can get that removed.
Thanks for the feedback! :D
