DAZ Central - setting the path location to My library
The daz Central path should have been the root, not the content library - the installer takes care of the subfolders. If you want to keep using Daz Central it may be best to uninstall the new files, correct the path setings, and reinstall.
DAZ Central - setting the path location to My libraryHello from France DAZ people.
I have been using DAZ since many years, and my "historical" assets library is under this path G:/DAZ/Studio/My Library.
I recnetly had to change my hard drive and reinstall DAZ3D & DAZCentral.
As I understand, you are suppose to set the path under the DAZ central gear settings. DAZ Studio install location for the .exe file and Base path location for the library.
So I logically set my former path under the gear menu: G:/DAZ/Studio/My Library
But instead of puting my assets under this path, DAZ central loads my new assets under a much more complicated path: G:\DAZ\Studio\My Library\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\ and I have 2 libraries. One under G:/DAZ/Studio/My Library and the other under G:\DAZ\Studio\My Library\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library
Now what would be the cleanest way to merge those two libraries ? to force the path to my original library? Should I just rename my "My Library" directory to "My DAZ 3D Library" but leave it under DAZ/Studio or should I move my entire original library to a new directory called DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library?
Thanks for the support.
Will this make it to 2022 Sales Thread:Report Issues Here "There's Always Another Sale™"...so is there a reason that the last flash sale of the day now ends at 22:59 MDT instead of 23:59? Even more inconvenient for those west of Utah (21:59 on the west coast is 23:59 [effectively midnight] in Tennessee [Central Time] which is where Rendo is located).

If I might jump in... You need to do the reset on each mapped folder (library) with G8F morphs, typically "data/DAZ3D/Genesis 8/", wherever they are. (Some users say it will find "everything", but I only use one content library folder, so I can't comment on that part). When they are all done, there should be no ".tlOff" files for G8F morphs (some will still exist for other figures, if you have processed them, like G8M). Now, you need to load a new G8F and scan it for morphs. The previous actions cleared the stored list, so you need to repopulate it. This should reload all G8F morphs into TL, then you can make your selections of which to enable or not, just don't clear the list.
To be clear about your "exclusive" use of DIM/Smart Content: Does that mean that you are installing from within DAZ Studio (aka Connect) when you say Smart Content? Connect and DIM are considered mutually exclusive, as in: don't install with both methods. DIM uses a traditional folder structure, Connect has a completely different one (which doubles the disk space used and takes precedence if also installed with DIM).
Thanks NorthOf45, thought I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by "each mapped folder (library) with G8F morphs.
You mentioned that some of your content was on an external drive, so if some of the morphs are there, you need to reset those also. Studio will hunt for all morphs when it loads the figure, in all mapped folders (libraries). The reset does it by folder, since it does not know which, unless it can also search all libraries. Since the morphs are currently disabled, Studio won't find them, and a TL figure scan won't be able to track them back since they are not loaded.
I'm wondering if you mean I need to go into all of the subdirectory folders within data/DAZ3D/Genesis 8, such as Female Eyelashes, Babina 8 Eyebrows, Female | Morphs, etc.
You shouldn't have to go into each subfolder, the top one shold take care of it.
Or am I supposed to be doing a search for .tloff files anywhere on my external drive and my hard drive, navigating to those folders and resetting those as well?
Or am I completely misunderstanding you?
I don't exactly know how your system is set up, or how thorough the reset is, so, just to make sure, you can look for those .tlOff files. If there are none where they shouldn't be (i.e., no G8F morphs with .tlOff extension) then you should be clear. There might be some for G8M, but you will see that the folders are different. Worst that happens is that you miss some, and repeat the reset process on another folder.
Oh, to answer your question: I haven't ever used Daz Central or Daz Connect. I always use just the DIM to download/update assets.
Okay. Many users interchange Connect and Smart Content, but they are not the same thing.
Thanks for the help @NorthOf45!

Uninstalling LAMH Player? How did you originally install the Player - DIM, Daz Central, Daz Connect or manually?
If you used DIM, just open up DIM/Installed Files and click uninstall - actually I would recommend you uninstall BOTH the Player and main LAMH then install just the main LAMH - I seem to recall this works better.
I've no idea about Daz Central (never used it).
I think you would follow similar process for Connect, right-clicking the product in Smart Content window and uninstall.
If you did it manually, you'd need to track down what (and where) you installed and remove them manually, Again I'd probably recommend removing both and reinstalling full LAMH.
Daz Studio and LinuxI was able to get Daz Central installed with lutris. There were some issues with lirary files that I had to reinstall and gamemod was confusing wine as to the arch and the Dazcentral installer complained about trying to install a 64-bit program on a 32-bit machine.
I got the point where I could install Daz Studio and it seems to be stuck on building interface. the WIneserver is running at about 100% CPU. My guess is that there is some other issue.
Can anyone advise on how long the building interface phase should take?

DAZ Central is using QT 5 if you didn't notice.
And that's really a drag for developers... all the other packages one installs default to Qt5.x but you need to keep older tools and libraries around (that are getting harder and harder to install) just for Daz Studio. And when googling solutions, you have to remember to always type 4.8.7 in there somewhere :)
I'm looking forward to DS5 and dreading its arrival at the same time.
New Install Doesn't Recognize Daz Smart Cloud FilesAs I said, reimport metadata will not help with content installed through Daz Studio - it would work for content installed through Daz Central or Install Manager.
New Install Doesn't Recognize Daz Smart Cloud FilesSorry if it wasn't clear. I mean I have an external drive where all my Daz library is. I did a clean install of windows and installed Daz again. (It was a disaster using the Daz Central (?) app so deleted all the Daz stuff and not sure if there are lingering registries also causing issues because uninstall couldnt find Daz Studio. Not sure if this info is related or even needed). This install of Daz seems to be working and connected to the Daz Install Manager. I moved all of my original Daz Library files (structures intact) to the new Daz library (overwriting the new files). My Rendorosity files show up in the Smart Library in Daz Studio but none of the files I downloaded via Daz Studio. However when I installed one test file again thru Daz Studio it went to the exact same folder already in my Daz library and now that one file shows up in Daz Studio but none of the others. I tried Content DB Maintenance->reimport Metadata and it seemed to just refresh the content I installed from Rendo. Not sure if there is somewhere else I need to update.
New Install Doesn't Recognize Daz Smart Cloud FilesIf you mean content installed through Daz Studio and you don't have a back up of the database (which would haev been on the C: drive by default - %AppData%/daz 3d/cms/ - if you didn't reformat the drive it may still be in the windows.old folder) then you will have to reinstall, though it should recognise the existing files and not need to download them once it has verified that their signatures match those on the server.
If you do mean installed via Install Manager (or Daz Central) then, once you have the content directory settings correct (so that you can see the files in the Content Library under Daz Studio Formats and they load), open the Content Library option menu (the lined/hamburger button in the top corner or right-click the tab)>Content DB Maintenance, check reimport Metadata, check everything in the enxt dialogue (there is a master checkbox), and let it do its work for a while.

This is an ongoing communication issue I have had as well. If you switch the directory it wont read the smart content, and then you cant double click assets into the scene which IS a deal breaker and signficant time waste.
If you switch the setting without moving the database then the database will be empty. Apologies if you are moving both, in lockstep.
I have successfully moved the directories following the advice on here but you almost have to install everything TWICE ion order to get the full use of the software. If you allow Daz Central to install to the default location you dont get the smart content. If you install smart content you can't install all of the Daz Central Exclusive content. If you do just Daz Central you dont the double click funtionality. It's literally 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other with this sopftwasre which is infuriating when you have TB or hundreds of GB worth of assets you are trying to manage!
That sounds like a mismatched databse path - though I am not sure whether you mean daz Central (similar to Install manager but with simplified options) or Daz Connect (installing through Daz Studio) - currently neither has content that cannot be installed through Install Manager so it is not clear what you mean by exclusive content.
Is there a fix yet or not?
A fix for what? The system does work, in general, but there are situations in which it doesn't - fixing those generally requires fixing the particular circumstances that are triggering the problem.

Has that package ever been installed with Connect(inside Studio) and then a second time with either DIM or Central? Don't mix install methods. It gets complicated to keep them working correctly.
Are you logging in inside Studio? Don't if you use DIM or Central for installs.
Not intentionally or to my recollection. I only use DIM for content installation and consider Connect an annoyance. I do log in from DS because it pesters me to sometimes - is that only for Connect? If so, how do I shut up or disable Connect?

re-installing products via smart content : now problem with hard disk spaceThank you Richard for letting me know that.
I will stop using Daz Central and go with Daz Install Manager instead to install my content.
I think that Connect is using the folder My DAZ 3D Library\data\cloud to download/update the content.
I don't know if I can only "update" content thru Connect (...).I will do a Content Database Maintenance to clean it up just in case.
re-installing products via smart content : now problem with hard disk spaceDon't instal the same thing in multiple ways - Connect and Daz Central/Install Manager use different locations. Uninstall one of each.
Can't uninstall Daz software from my computerHello. I downloaded Daz Studio a month ago, tried my hands on it, then decided to remove it. I may make another thread about why I gave up on it. Anyway, I first opted to uninstall it from within the daz central suite, then removed daz central itself too. Everything was supposed to be gone after that, but too bad it's not:
I go to Windows' applications list (in Settings) but nothing 'Daz' is present there anymore to uninstall from there.
So why are have these pesky leftovers persisted and how can I actually get rid of them?
Also, Norton flagged Daz as malware, is it for real, is that why it can't be removed the normal ways?
