Yes, that's right ~ So, you just should rig G2's OBJ onto G8 as a "Suit" with Transfer Utility, then dial the morph you want on G8, export G2 Suit to OBJ file. Finally, import OBJ file onto G2 with Morph Loader Pro ~~

That's the "Fit Suit" method ...

I know what the procedure is... I wrote it at the top (if you had read it, you would know)... the problem is that when you pair the character fields, it freezes at 22% and than close the Daz3d...

I would like to know why Daz3d freezes and clos

I did read your OP... but TBH I didn't think you did it correctly so that was why I wrote the workflow again. I couldn't reproduce the freezing / crash issue with both DS 4.22 and DS 4.23 ~

    1) I exported G2F as OBJ with Base Resolution, dialed G2F T-POSE Clone on G8F. Rig it with Transfer Utility as per the settings in Screenshot 1

    2) It only took 2.5 seconds to complete the rigging on my side (first PoC is 72%... it was even faster in 4.23). Then I dialed a V8 on G8F... Screenshot 2

However, if your issue still persits ... see if other folks can help. Good luck !

  • I want to perform a clean reinstallation DAZ because I messed up the filing system

When you install throiugh DIM do you typically close Daz Studio and open DIM? That can lead to the database not running, which will prevent entries being made and so break the views that depend on the database. If the files are there you can open the Content Library option menu (the lined/hamburger button in the top corner), select Content DB Maintenance, and check the Reimport Metadata option; after clicking Accept you should get a new dialogue with all the content products DS can find, checking those (there is a master check box above the list) may fix the issue with Smart Content etc.

  • List of Products Used - script [Commercial]

I am trying script and noticing some weird behavior.

    1. Start a new scene (but don't save the scene yet)

    2. Load character and outfit

    3. Run the script. Shows the products for the character and outfit

    4. Save the scene

    3. Run the script. Shows no products at all.

I've reset the database and re-imported metadata and get the same results.

Any ideas? Has anyone seen this behavior or can run a quick test on their setup to see if it's just me?

    Edit:

Reading further up the thread I suspect that this same behavior would appear in MikeD's commercial script as with the free script if they're based on the same concepts. A little bit of digging uncovered an older thread that pointed out some differences in the way that Asset Manager and Content Manager "see" product information (the latter takes a disk based approaach for example). I wonder, given that the sample script primarily relies on Asset Manager, whether that could cause a problem once the scene is saved.

I suppose a simple test might be to add a character into an empty scene, save the scene, and add a new character to the scene but don't save the scene file again. Given the behavior I'm seeing, I would expect the sample script run at that point to show the product information for the new character but not the old one. I'll have to try that when I'm back in my workshop.

  • Mesh/rig hair error after sending to Blender

    I bought this hair @Mihrelle :

    https://www.daz3d.com/mrl-urban-braids-for-genesis-9

and after I use Daz3D to Blender to import it to Blender, two braids are glitching in Blender ( in Daz Studio it's okay). Even after I use the original file without any changes in Daz studio. What could solve this? I used default settings for Send to Blender export.

  • Diffeo Texture tiling?

    Hi Padone,
    Thanks for looking into this!

I'm using the Cafe Luca asset for this.
I'm adding the DS export screen as well as the Blender import and the resulting shader screens. And two screens showing the renders from DS & Blender, where you can see the difference in floor tiling.

Is there a way to export just that shader from Blender to post it here?
I've fixed the issue by adding a Mapping node between the Texture Coordinate and the DIMG Woodflooring nodes and scaling it by 0.5% btw.

  • Scene Subsets - Remove Green "Set" Logo

The content type tags are added when the folder view is drawn, they are not part of the thumbnail - presumably your older files, without the tag, lack metadata (because it was lost or because the files have been moved).

  • How do I make this defective skimpwear conform to G9 shapes?

Yea, but I'm afraid rigging it with tight bodysuit template doesn't really work in this case... but you may give it a try.
    1) Zero character's pose beforehand. Select the chain, set Resolution Level to Base, set Fit to Mode to Auto Follow Transforms, tweak its Y Axis to a proper positon. Then export / import OBJ. Delete original chain figure.
    2) Rig the chain prop to G9 by using Transfer Utility with the settings in SS1.

Traditional way is to fix its FBM, I use Victoria 9 as the example:
    1) Zero V9 pose. Select the chain, set Resolution Level to Base. In hidden property, you may find FBM's name, copy it. (SS2)
    2) Ctrl + Select V9 + Chain, export them to OBJ file with the settings in SS3.
    3) Import OBJ into Blender or other modeling software, tweak the chain to well fit on the body by using Draw + Grab brushes with Symmetry turned on. Then export the chain to OBJ with the above copied FBM Name (SS4)
    4) Import OBJ file onto the chain in DS by using Morph Loader Pro with the settings in SS5.

Done. (SS6). (If your character is a fully customized one rather than by using any character product, you can just create a Fix morph in Step 4).. instead of updating hidden property of FBM)

But be noted that Step 4) takes pretty long time because this chain is really heavy in terms of Base geometry (870K faces...). I think that was why the vendor didn't fix FBMs on it.... too time-consuming. devil

Edit: You can also fix it in DS by using Mesh Grabber / Geometry Sculptor if you own them and then create morphs on the chain... but that process will be cumbersome. Geometry Sculptor has Symmetry option but it has bug with undo even may bring you DS crash.... Good luck !

  • How do I make this defective skimpwear conform to G9 shapes?

You can try exporting it as an obj at base level, import it and use the transfer utility with the tight bodysuit template - it could get you a bit further than what you have there.

@Padone What is the "toon" preset in easy import? I am using the latest version of Diffeomorphic, 4.2.1 and I have no toon preset, only default and genesis 1 to 9.

Update to Diffeomorphic 4.3 or development version. If necessary, install Blender 4.3 too. You will have Genesis 9 toon preset.

    what does your product do?

Non-destructive one-click creation of morphs from any deformation — smoothing and collision, d-Force, D-Former, Push modifier — without requiring any preparations such as stripping wearables, setting the resolution to base, and others; eliminating of smoothing artifacts from collision deformations (e.g., smoothing face details, nail distortions, etc.); non-destructive character morph creation, combining multiple morphs into one, handling self-collision, one-click morph rigging, one-click import/export, and more — a total of 19 scripts. I'm attaching the User Guide if you're interested, and I'll create a detailed post once my product Morph Master is approved.

  • Identifying products used in a scene?

    sidcarton1587 said:

I know this is quite late to the game by 3 years, but did some of the issues raised above get addressed by anyone?

I am running the script that Richard referenced and seeing a few oddities, and I am looking for setups to test to try and make sense of it. Specifically, if I load a random scene with a few characters and run the script, it outputs exactly what I would expect. I have a buddy who I asked to do the same thing, and in their setup, we see weird behaviors where not all products are listed, or if they are, they all reference the dreaded "LOCAL USER" content library. This seemed to be somewhat related to where and how they installed the referenced products (some were manually installed) and how paths were baked into the scene file they were testing. When they created a completely new scene file with a couple of characters, it behaved as we would expect. However, as soon as they saved the file and re-ran the script, we were back to not seeing all the products and the "LOCAL USER" issue again.

This leads me to believe it has something to do with the way their content libraries are set up (or the ordering of their libaries), but I'm not sure which conditions to ask them to test next. Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior with this script?

That sounds rather like metadata/content management system issues - manually installing and not importing the metadata, or moving the files around, will break the identification.

  • Blender Genesis Importing, Posing and Rendering

Seriously, I didn't knew how to use that addon. There were many times where I simply imported through the FBX importer instead.

Thank you so much for the help, man. It's much more simpler to do things through the addon instead of Blender's raw FBX import.

  • Blender Genesis Importing, Posing and Rendering

If you exported the figure with DTB bridge, and chose to Bake SubD, there would be two FBX file, B_FIG.fbx (baked one) would be used for being imported into Blender.

Then the Bones can be hidden in the settings of Overlay in Blender's Viewport... but why did you manually import FBX file instead of using DTB add-on ?

  • genesis 9?

As an alternative to the two ways of zooming already posted you can also set a minimum font-size in your browser. Below, is the settings for this in Firefox but all modern browsers will have something similar.

This would have the effect of making smaller text bigger but leaving text that is already big enough the same size. Zooming may still work better for you but it's always good to know the options.

To bring it back on topic:

sofa-citizen, yes, Fabrice and Mike 9 are 9 actors, BUT, the 9 base ite, doesn't appear in the same list. (see screencap)

Yes, this is because the Genesis 9 Starter Essentials does not have a clickable asset for the male figure - you need to load the unisex figure from Figures->People and then dial in the Male/Masculine morph. This is presumably what the freebie product that Halcon Bluesky posted above does and so you can grab that if you need to do this often.

Unfortunately, I don't own the "Cartoon Adult Male Character, Hair, and Outfit for Genesis 9" product and so cannot see it's metadata but it should appear in the Figures->People->Male->Stylised section that you posted and so hopefully it is there now that you have sorted your DIM issue.

  • OBJ Morph Loader Import stopped working in 4.23

Nevermind, I spot the problem. The issue is with the string:

    oMorphLoader.setMorphSubdivision( true );

which was fine up to v. 4.22, but in 4.23 it must be false.

As a result, sample Silent OBJ Morph Loader Import stopped working.

I hope it will be fixed soon.
