Daz Studio 6.25[.0.x], General Release!
Actually, can I just check, as it seems people are using this seriously now? Is the expectation that this is usable on a 5090 with the viewport set to iRay? I mean that when you move things likke lights in the viewport, or move a figure to see how it affects shadows, you don't have to wait a few seconds. Victoria is telling me it doesn't work and suggesting the sort of optimisations I used to make on my 1060. I don't believe AI as far as I can throw i usually, but who knows...?
So should I be getting a usable viewport? Somthing that I can see update quickly when I make changes? I just want to understand the expectation.
Thanks.

The AI assistant, Victoria, has been on the DAZ website for quite awhile. I find she answers me questions quite often and throughly. Fast as well. It actually surprised me. Don't let your disdain for AI sway your analysis. It also holds tru the usefulness depends on your skill level using DS. Also, I am no fan of AI.
Does IT work offline? Or does IT need Internet access to work?
I've only used it via the DAZ website, so that's online. I'm not going install the new 6, at least for awhile until I see how people feel about it. if it breaks a lot of my purchased plugins and scripts, i will just stick with 4

Not the most thrilling DS6 release with these New products and not a new DO character bundle.
People should check DIM. Inside this, in the bottom Ad, you should see a coupon for DAZ+ and Premier users for a very generous coupon for free DAZ Originals.
No bottom ad for me. For a moment, there was one to install Daz 6 (which is not yet installed), but when I restarted DIM, it was gone too. I guess I'm not good enough Daz+ member...
The same thing happened to me, I only saw the banner for the new DAZ 6 version and not the other one. I waited very patiently, as suggested, when I saw the banner to scroll and see the second one appear, but it didn't appear, and after closing and reopening DIM the first one disappeared too. :(

Don't be impatient, there are a couple of banner messages. Wait for it to scroll.

Are the Victoria series figures supported in DAZ 6?
Yes, non-genesis figures still work in DS6.

Daz Studio 6.25[.0.x], General Release! If ever you plan to having your settings like e.g. Favorites in the corresponding menu item from a previous version being migrated to Studio 6: forget it. I just had a revealing chat with their Victoria AI assistant. See the chat in the attachment.
Here's also a transscript:
Hi there! You're speaking with Victoria, an AI Agent. I'm well-trained and ready to assist you today, but you can ask for the team at any time. I may make mistakes regarding certain inquiries. Daz3D's terms and conditions override anything I might say.

Hi Victoria,
I am trying to getting accustomed to DAZ Studio 6, coming from the previous version: I do not want to recreate all my favorites in the menu Favorites. Is there a way to import them somehow from the previous version?• 5m
At the moment, there isn’t a reliable way to import your old Studio 4 Favorites into Studio 6. Favorites (and scripts) in the menu bar don’t carry over automatically, and it’s been an ongoing issue across updates.
What you can do is save your Studio 6 layout once you’ve rebuilt your Favorites, so you can restore that layout later. Just be careful with “Update and Merge menus” because it can wipe the Favorites menu again.

Is that what you were looking for?
Victoria • AI Agent • 5m
That is very disappointing. Do I get this right that presently all individual settings are lost and have to be rebuilt piece by piece?
• 4m
Yes, that’s right for now: your Studio 4 favorites (and scripts) in the menu bar don’t carry over into Studio 6, so they need to be re-added manually.
The good news is that some of your “work” can still be preserved. You can copy your user styles and user layouts folders from your Studio 4 AppData folder into your Studio 6 AppData folder, then load them in Studio 6 via the Styles and Layout menus.
One important caveat: using “Update and Merge Menus” can wipe the Favorites menu again, so it’s best to avoid that until you’ve rebuilt your Favorites.

Did that answer your question?

I am afraid that you just confirmed my worst nightmares. I'll stick to the previous version, then. Thanks and bye.

I'm sorry to hear that this is disappointing for you. If you ever want to explore any other features or need help with DAZ Studio, I'm here to assist! Take care!
What actually IS new in DAZ Studio 6?Yeah I would like to know if there any improvements to animation or any improvements to the Filament engine. I will probably just stay with DS 4.24 until that happens. I really don't want the Victoria AI component at all. Not sure why they felt the need to include that since AI is so divisive, so they are instantly going to piss off at least half of the user base for an unecessary gimmick.
Why does it take so much longer to delete cameras from a scene? When I add 20 cameras to a scene and then delete them, it takes about 9-10 seconds. When I add 20 Victoria 4.2's to a scene and delete them, it takes less than 2 seconds. I've done this two times in a row with the same results. Intuitively, I'd expect that deleting the Victoria 4's would be slower because they have geometry. I noticed this because I often create sequential scenes where I use the previous scene as a starting point for the next scene. So usually, one of my first steps is to delete the existing cameras.

Yes, trust the thread (and package) names over the AI. "Victoria" is one of the more helpful AI bots I have come across, but certainly not infallible.
Is there a link to any info about the beta? I just checked the blog, but the last entry I see is from 2025, so it seems like something's not working on my end for some reason. Thanks.

Your end is fine. Someone is not working at the Daz end. The 2025 entry is the last blog entry as of May 30, 2026.
Thanks, Barbult - good to know it's not just me. Might be a good place to post a message saying "Hey the latest version of DS is now in beta"? <shrug> lol

Help identifying figureHello,
I would say the model is Victoria 9, wearing Victoria 9 HD Makeup and without further changes.
Her body is among the supported shape, so no reason to spent the time required to fit the clothes properly on a custom model when you already spent it to make them fit on Victoria 9.
The hair, maybe this one by Fesoul:
