Appreciation Thread for SURREALITY!

Don't raise yer eyebrows at ME sonny! Ha! Hey I have been reinstalling all my stuff the last few months, and seen some things I'd not given all that much thought to. There are a very few "character artists" that are all about Options. First, before even looking at those, is the base skin and morphs good? Even beautiful? Yeah? Great! Well hey, that is all the ones that seem to be all about Options. But by far, the one character artist that really gives literally dozens of options for their characters is Surreality. There are other artists whose characters I love using that also offer lots of options. Gypsyangel offers splendid characters with lots of options, for instance. Surreality goes a different way though, with luscious options for each makeup style, each lip style and so on, in the dozens. Surreality gives us something that nobody else I know of has done yet. Some of Surrealitys character sets for V4 still have me shaking my head in wonder at all the choices. So, Thank You for all the goodies!

I absolutely love Surreality's characters, they're beautiful and unusual and as McG said have tons of options.
I have almost all her V4 characters, and Okami is probably still my favorite even though I bought her loooong ago ;)
Oooh OKAMI, Warrior Maiden; is fantastic! I have both parts and easily spend a day creating characters, scenes and renders with her, and others at times. The scenes don't always have to make "good sense" do they? The images can be wonderful even if it might not have clear direction! Lots of scenery, from tropical jungles to deserts and many animals and creatures to have as enemies or friends. I kinda think Surreality spurred on the whole total makeups and makeovers "movement" in the Gen 3 and 4 'verses! I think I will start posting pics from renders I have done with Surreality's characters.
McG. :o)
Okami X in Streets of Asia 2. Okami has distinct features that do appear Asian, and beautiful.
Okami and Okami X installed together provide seven folders of wonderful options. We are all different people from each other, and so it is no surprise at all that one will find some looks more attractive than others. While the next person sees something different in the same look. And that is ok. :o) Okami is a beautiful woman. No adjustment needed!
Muse. Yes, I find many character sets make wonderful muses, and for many reasons. Okami is surely one, Keziah is another. I accidentally nudged some A4 dials while loading the Keziah character one day. What I ended up with was surprisingly nice. While based on Keziah, it had A4 scaling and slenderness. Similar to but not Keziah. But still a beauty. SO. Keziah first! :o)

Now I show Keziah crossed with a dial spin character I made called Ash09. Yes, lots of iterations of "Ash"! Heh! I will have to recreate all my characters like this one, as they were not backed up anywhere yet when the 1 TB drive my once gargantuan Runtime was on, evaporated. I have since that time, grimly replaced said HD with another 1 TB drive of slightly better grade, and bought a clamshell USB BD Rewriter and a half height internal SATA BD Rewriter plus a spindle of BD-R 25 gig blank disks. Been backing up tons of stuff. I will have to buy another 50 count spindle of BD's to complete my backing up all my content and software but should be well worth the cost. I am backing up not only my downloaded content in installer and zip form, but have been installing stuff to a max of 23 gigs per individual Runtime, and burning those to disk too!
McG. :o)
Agreed! Okami is gorgeous, I use her all the time. I hope Surreality comes out with some product for V7.
I will probably be eternally grateful for Surreality's inclusions of variant eyelash colors. Not all people have jet black eyelashes.
Her eyebrows only work when you are using her textures, but the eyelashes (or eye colors) can work with just about everyone.
Her Equinox character is my go-to starting point when I find I need an angel. There are *dozens* of variant morphs in that package.
That is a lovely angel JOdel! Beautiful image! I don't have that particular character. Kezra was my first of theirs, then Epiphany, Keziah, Nera, Snow, Umeka, Zoe for the Modern Muses I have, and also Okami (of course!) and now Tamesis. Historically I looked at the skin, and all the options to go with that. Of late though, I find myself looking at, even studying the differences that the morphs and textures have together. My brain may just be getting older, I dunno. But I do find other peoples ideas of character morphs every bit as interesting now as their textures. And with over 300 V4 characters to choose from now (yes you are speaking with a hopeless addict!) that occupies a good bit of time. Not to mention my renewed interest in my cats and their looks. My Three Sons (heh!) are very different looking from each other, and very different personalities too. Just like people, come to think of it. ;o)
I will be poking through all my Surreality characters to see what different morphs I can stir up! Thanks for that nudge, JOdel!

Surreality is in a class by herself ... and always will be.
Her characters are so unique and have so many options.
I can't help but shake my head when I see a character offer 6 eye colors and 6 make-ups. :P
Surreality is pretty much timeless classic, even all these years later.
I haven't seen anything from her in ages, I hope she is diong well ... wherever and whatever it is she is doing. :)
Well - her latest product is for the Genesis2Female: http://www.daz3d.com/ingenue-desdemona
Latest producrt here. I think she may still be somewhat active on Rendo. But not wildly.
Cool! Lots of Tribal tatts there to play with. My oldest daughter would look at that and start interrogating me as to what-how-when-where in doing that on a computer. She is a 38 yr old Tattoo artist. I bought her her own dream list Tattoo Gun for her like 30'th birthday. Oddly enough I do not have a single tattoo anywhere. Nothing against them, I guess I spent too much time accumulating scars in the industry to worry about it. Anyway, 'here' is where I found Temesis, a very pretty elf gal. As mentioned, not only does she have dozens of texture options, there are several character morphs to choose from as well. Basically the same but soft to hard edge look. Just checked, and see I got her one year ago this month. Ha!
When I first saw Kezra over at Rendo, I couldn't stop looking at her. This was in 2007, before I'd learned the ins and outs of the Runtime structure and methods, and what to do WITH a Character Set for a Figure. In the beginning I thought I was getting the FIGURE. The folks in UUE// alt.binaries.3d.poser newsgroup were very helpful to rookies back then, and we still are today. Whenever someone asks for help, one of more of us are glad to assist. Oh my I had SO MUCH to learn about everything 3D. And I had been piddling with early beta releases of DS, even when I bought Poser 6 in 2006, it crashed so much I just did stuff in DS till Poser updates improved it a lot. But, it was Kezra and Gypsyangels early characters I learned with. Then I added TY2 and A3 stuff. For variety. Then slowly it began to dawn on me that all those little piccies of Kezra or Stella or whichever in the POSE category did all sorts of different and often way cool stuff. Variety. Ha! I began to see I wasn't as smart as I thought I was, that is for sure!
SO, fast forward to now, and I have not explored all the options in many of my fave artists characters. I do get lost in the Runtime occasionally. Sometimes I come up for air, food, necessities. Reconstruction of the mass of installed Content is some 80% done now. LOTS of clothes for V4 left to go. But I've made sure to get all the characters and Figures done, and working right across the board. That means V4 and Kezra work right in Studio 3A and earlier as well as Studio Pro 4.8 and Poser Pro (7) and up. Me is pleased with the newer structuring and dozens of Runtimes! And Surrealitys gals are too! :o)
