Holy Cow That's One Expensive Character

So I was browsing Daz Originals from high to low to see the sales stuff for Everyone Can Save Big on Platinum Club all of a sudden I came across this.

Comments
Yes, the price is deliberately very high to make sure people don't buy it as it is/was used for promotional purposes.
I remember there was a thread about her a while ago, apparently she was a contest price or something - but why she ended up by the regular products and to that horrendous price was never sorted out I beleive.
Unfortunately since the search function has broken down, I cannot re-locate that thread again.
If it can't be purchased because of the rididulous price why put it in the store at all?
Because it needs a store presence in order to be able to be given away and still appear in Customer's Product Libraries, as has been said before, in each one of the previous threads on this subject.
The other expensive thing is how much time has to be spent going over topics because forum search doesn't work.
(stare)
(sorry, mods, I love you guys!)
Oh dear as she wanders off, mumbling about dead equines and corporal punishment
Yes, that price would keep her elite. :-)
What if some fool (like myself) were to go and add her to their cart and pay for it even at that rediculous price? (I guess they just had to have it, no matter the cost)
Then its a win/win...
Well win/lose.
Then they probably have so much money that it doesn't really matter to them what it costs....
Still, considering that some models actually cost that much on other sites, a price of e.g. 1.000.000 (and no discount, as this also makes the price look more valid) would probably convince even the biggest multibillionaire spender that something's wrong.
At least it's not a grizzly bear... ha ha
This is one of the original threads about this. Made way back in early April last year http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/54795/no-extra-discount/p1
I have this product, I recieved it on my year anniversary of being a registered Daz user. I spent a lot and was plat club the entire time, so I'm not sure if everyone gets it but that's how I got mine.
I never got her but I did get the V6 3D print delivered in a box to my door, in one piece too, so not complaining.
Ditto. And as I actually won the "Social Media" contest that was part of the 3D Print promotion, I'm thinking I really, really can't complain!
(But I would love to have Bijou. I even put her on my Wishlist... hint, hint, DAZ... lol)
Same here. And I felt really lucky it was fully intact, especially when so many other people seem to have received broken ones.
So, say somebody is crazy enough to be willing to fork over that kind of scratch for her (I'm not naming names, here, but if you're really curious, just look to the left of this post!
); would DAZ decline the sale, or would they just call it one of those 'shut-up-and-take-my-money!' moments?
I really wouldn't mind having her, even at that price! (Hey, as I always say to the ladies at Barnes & Noble, when they ask if I have their discount card: "Somebody has to pay retail!")
Well my one-year PC membership passed in November, I've spent a few thousand on content, and I eagerly hoped for an Xmas prezzy from Daz since there had been some comments that people (like you) had gotten her as an anniversary gift. She never showed up. I was very very disappointed. I keep her in my wish list so I can have a good cry every now and then.
I still hold out hope.... but I suspect I'm fooling myself. Then again, if they tune her for Genesis3 and then send her my way, it would go a long way to smooth off some of the bitterness in my soul over not having gotten her at Xmas.
I haven't gotten her as an anniversary gift yet.... :-(
I would have made the price 1 MILLION DOLLARS.
Yea, then DAZ could brag about giving away 1 million dollar prizes...
BTW, since it's a Daz Original I imagine it might go on sale occasionally when all DO items are on sale (if nothing else then because of a store glitch). Those who are eager to get it could watch for changes on the page (there are programs that can do that). Personally I don't fancy that character though, there are hundreds of others I'd rather have.
Ahhh...but then if it is a prize, one may fall afoul of tax regulations and end up having to pay taxes on that $1,000,000.00 character....
Wait... You get anniversary gifts from DAZ..?
.
There's always a snake in the paradise, isn't there...
If ya get in quick, she's on sale, a mere $183.72 to PC+ members for the next hour and a half at least.
Think of the bragging rights: "I'm the only one in the world" Nahaha ha ha ha....... Why have those guys in white coats got nets?
Each of the thousands of threads, and of at least three this week...
I never got her either nor a 3D print and where I was rather bummed I understand I am not a high spender nor have I been here as long as others.
I don't think it matter the length of time you been here or how much you spent. I have been here a very long time and I spend tons of money here and I never recieved either of them . I maybe wrong but I think they were reserved for P+ club members anyway.
But maybe they will give Bijuo away in the freebie section someday It doesn't cost anymore to dream big...:)
Has anyone ever claimed to have received this character? I've seen many of these threads and I've never seen anyone say "Squeeee! I just got Bijou! Thanks DAZ!".... Personally I think it's a conspiracy... I think Bijou holds some code package required to launch some special black ops mission implanted in select PC+ customer's brains via subliminal suggestion/data implantation during the PC+ renewal process (anyone get a headache while looking at your shopping cart recently?)... I'm pretty sure aliens, Sasquatch, Elvis and the Loch Ness Monster all play some role in this as well... It's been difficult to prove so far, but I'm working on uncovering the truth behind this because I'm immune to the brainwashing waves (there is a prerequisite of a brain for that process to be effective), so don't worry, as long as I don't forget about this (side effect of not having a brain) I'll eventually uncover the real truth behind this... Or make something better up.
While we are on the topic... I want to test this... 30-34995-24497-21608... Anyone suddenly feel the need to assassinate anything or overthrow a secret alien invasion?
