Where's the Forum Search Tool?

I can't seem to find the search feature for any of the Forums.  Did they change something?  Am I blind?  The only search I see is "Search Store."

I used both Internet Explorer 11 and Windows 10 Edge - so it's not the browser.

  • You're right, the search doesn't work for the forum at the moment.

Until they get it fixed you can google search your terms and add the following:

    site:www.daz3d.com/forums

We have sent in a query.

  • Daz is aware of this and it is being worked on, though we don't have an ETA for the return of the forum search.

OK, I'm not blind!  Good thing too.

Thanks, Hanabi, your search suggestion worked.

Didn't even notice. The search function here completely does my head in. If I explored it more (or asked for help/a map LOL) maybe I'd start getting usable results but who has the time?

Giggle/Duck site searches just seem so much easier.

    Edit: Spelling, again.

  • New hard sell strategy?

  • Wow, glad I saw this thread. I thought I suddenly turned dumb and couldn't find the search box. *blush*

Hope they take the chanse at the same time to fix the engine to allow quotation mark search and wildcards - at least the most common wildcards.

I'd be happy if I could simply turn off quotes when contributing!

it's in the same place as the ability to view and add to bug reports from other users like we could years ago.

    Gone.

  • well maybe this thread can be stickied for a while? since ya know... a confused forum member trying to find search, can't exactly search to ask about search missing. It makes the most sense to sticky this in the mean tiime.

Thanks so much Cho!  Very helpful!  So it's there, just hidden for what ever reason!  indecision

@ Hanabi - thanks, your Googly method works pretty good!

@ Chohole - thanks, but that in site search didn't find things the Google one did.

I wanted to find NX-01, cause I wanted a model of the ship from ST: Enterprise, not the authors.  MattyManx has done a LOT of great stuff, and I just wanted the one thing this time.

This addon for FireFox works great on the forums...

May I add that I found search pretty useless when it did work. For example if I searched for a product name then endless unrelated threads would head the search list often consisting of single words from the search phrase. "Emissive lights" would bring up seperate threads containing "emissive" and "lights" but not one using the actual phrase. Even trying "emissive and lights" didn't produce results that were any better.

The forum is a very useful resource for those of us who need help from time to time. Rather than duplicating questions if we could find answers to our problems through search then it would save a lot of time.

Actually that works pretty good... But I tested it with "Sasquatch" instead of "something"... Apparently Sasquatch gets mentioned here a lot... Quite a few of those mentionings are by me... But surprisingly not all of them.

  • I do hope they put the search function 'back in'. I am lost without one. In the mean time, thanks for the optional search method. :)
