model gens and their names need help clearing up

Ok I was wondering if someone could clear up a question I had about the different versions of the genesis base models. What would I need to look for when buying stuff if I just use the base models for Genesis, Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 models. I have only purchased 2 characters but for the most part I only use the base models with my own morphs dialed in. I always see tons of stuff for Named models like Victoria, Michael, Bethany, Olympia and such. So what would just the base models be called. I see G4 G5 G6 and G7 alot. But what gen are those? Thanks for any help posted ;)

    Michael 4 and Victoria 4 are base models themselves.

    Michael 5, Victoria 5... etc. are for Genesis

    Victoria 6, Gia 6, Olympia 6... etc. are for Genesis 2 Female

    Michael 6, Gianni 6, Darius 6... etc. are for Genesis 2 Male

    Victoria 7, Karen 7, Arabella 7... etc. are for Genesis 3 Female

    Michael 7, Leo 7... etc are for Genesis 3 Male

    So, in short: generation 5 is Genesis, generation 6 is Genesis 2 and generation 7 is Genesis 3.

    Sweet thanks a bunch Porismo. Helps a ton. Now if you could answer this would be a very helpful add on as well :) If i buy clothing items made for say Olympia, can I use them as well on the same gen, if I don't have Olympia?

    Basically yes with Genesis line of figures, generation 4 is a different matter. Clothing items are made for the base models (at least with products sold here) and they usually include manually created morphs to support specific shapes (e.g. Olympia). The rest of the shapes are covered with auto-follow system (with varying results depending on how extreme the shape is).

    cool.. thanks again Porsimo. Really helps clear things up for me. Only been doing 3d work now for about 4 weeks and enjoying it very much;)
