OT Sherlock

Yea I watch the series and it's nothing short of amazing

If you live in the US and dont get BBC here there are a bunch of PBS stations broadcasting the New Years Eve broadcast tomorrow night 01/01/16 (or 01/01/16 for those of you in Europe)
Hopefully it wont be a 4 hour broadcast with 2 1/2 hours of fund raiser call in for $500 tote bags.

The old '84 Jeremy Brett, Sherlock Holmes or the new Bernard Cucumberbench...? Humperdinck Lumbersnatch... Barry... Oh hell, the guy who played Khan in Star Trek "Into Darkness"... In the new "Sherlock"?   Which by the way, I haven't seen yet, but I just found out it has nothing to do with an annoying talking squirrel living in a magic garden.... Apparently everyone loves Bartholomew Bumblebats and thinks he is a great modern version of Sherlock Holmes (not the talking squirrel) and they keep telling me to watch it, but every time I watch a show or movie someone suggests, I end up hating that person and thinking they are really insane... I'm not really sold on Bellamy Crumbleplatz, because I think he does a terrible Ricardo Montalban impersonation, while his general delivery of his lines were fine in the recent Star Trek, I didn't feel he made them genetically modified enough... He didn't really seem very Khanish either... More Montgomeryish, or Remingtonie... And why did he steal that guys jacket right before Spock started chasing him?... It played no part in scene.... He just snatched some guys jacket for no reason... Was that supposed to make him seem more evil? He is a mass murderer and jacket thief?... Better off he kicked some random puppy the moment he beamed down... That would have made him seem really evil and mad... All the jacket theft did was confuse me and leave me with the lingering question of whether or not that guy ever got his jacket back... Like what if his keys were in the pocket?

But anyway... Uh... I just realized I can't watch whatever it is, because I'm gonna have people over... I could ignore them... I'd like to... But I don't think my wife would like that...

    Oh well, happy new year!

Just to be clear... Not this Sherlock.... Right?

To blend into the crowd, a failed attempt at camouflage.

I don't know... He beamed down, stole the jacket, two seconds later Spock beams down then they start to run... It was a big long slicker overcoat kinda jacket... It would seem to me it was more of a liability in that case... Like a cape... I think he just really wanted the jacket, cause next thing you know, he is jumping off stuff, fighting on flying fire trucks... I'd have ditched the jacket to move more freely... Didn't he see "The Incredibles"? You get sucked up into jet engines that way... Bad idea.  I'm pretty sure the whole movie was a subterfuge just for him to steal that jacket in the end... Evil clothing thief.... He's probably the one who has been stealing my socks from the dryer... Probably the next Star Trek movie will show him making some super weapon out of old underwear.

What is this thing called "people over"? It sounds like something that would interfere with work....

I think Bandersnatch Cummerbund is a fine Sherlock and am looking forward to this.

sorry to necro but this has made my morning.

If you need me I'll be in the chuckle patch.

I'm glad someone got that (Magic Garden reference)... And welcome to the Chuckle Patch... I've been living here for years and if you don't mind getting Chuckle Ticks and subsequently Chuckle Lyme Disease, then it's great!

I'm still disappointed that after so many years, nobody even noticed the Monty Python reference in one of my freebies... I guess it's not a well known skit... Or Monty Python is fading into obscurity... Or I hallucinated the whole thing.  All equally possible.

I probably need to give this show another another chance someday.  I watched the first episode and said, meh, didn't really like it.  But then everyone talked about how great it was, so I watched the second episode, which I remember liking a lot.  So I watched the 3rd episode.  Again, meh.  So I'm at 1 for 3 with episodes I've liked, and that's where I've stopped. :)

Magic Garden or the Sherlock Holmes one?... Because you have to be really young or really high to enjoy the magic garden... Or really old and really high and feeling really nostalgic... Sherlock (not the squirrel) can be enjoyed sans hallucinations though.

Our hallucinations, or the character's?  IIRC the last episode he spent most of hallucinating.

Wasn't there an episode of the Magic Garden where Flapper got hold of some bad acid and looses it? I think Paula subdues him with repeated blows from her guitar in the end credits.
