Hello!

I cannot figure out from the description if there are 3delight materials included. Anyone who got it perhaps can clarify?

  • "This set ships with Iray shaders only, but can be easily ported to 3Delight with a little tweaking" So no 3Delight settings, but you can load the Iray version and tweak it.

Here is Cafe Luca in 3delight. In the first render I simply rendered it "as is" using the iRay shaders that it shipped with. In the second render I replaced all the surfaces with DAZ default shader, and spent a few minutes adjusting them, in particular the glass shader and the tables, that looked very reflective using the iRay shaders.

I added 1 distant light to represent the sun, and 1 Advanced ambient light.

Interestingly it rendered far faster with the 3DL shaders, first render took 5 minutes or so, the second around 30 seconds.

    Nice! :D

As way of a comparison, here is a similar shot but rendered in iRay. The only change I made was to alter the temperature of the emission shader for all the lights. Otherwise the whole render comes out in that bright orange that DAZ seems so fond of.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but WOW this product is amazing. The associated poses are a bit pricey, but there are so many subtleties in the poses that it's worth the price :)

Also, I drink excessive amounts of espresso so this is perfect for me ;)

That looks really good for 3Delight.  It is almost hard to tell the difference!

Great to hear - thanks everyone, but I might pass on that anyway. My problem is that a lot of Iray only products crashes for me, so I'm hesitant to buy iray only, even if it is possible to change the textures.

Now the same question with Chinese Garden http://www.daz3d.com/chinese-garden Again I cannot tell from the promo if there's 3Delight textures available.

According to the "What's included" on that page:

    Scenes: (.DUF and .PP2)

    • Chinese Garden - 3Delight Scene
    • Chinese Garden - Iray Scene

It's apparently even set up for Poser users.

    Hey Guys,

My apologies, i do like to supply 3DL shaders but i was crunched for time to be part of the christmas sale. As mentioned above, it's quite simple to apply the default DS shaders, then it's just a case of adjusting the spec and transparent materials. If anyone is having major issues, i'd be happy to supply some 3dl alternative presets. I'll make sure they are included next time, pinky promise.
