    Hahahahaha! Here in Brazil is a day of very hot, and the sun, gives to a fatigue duty Santa that warm clothing, and red.
    We are seeing the snow only in movies on tv.
    Is this really the cold season in the US, or just in the movies?

    Despite living near Buffalo, NY where last year at this time we were buried in over 7 feet of snow, this year we also only see snow on TV.  And the forcast is for warm weather until mid-January.

    And here in Wales we would normally expect it to be cold, if not actually snowing. As I am "In the foothills of the Brecon Beacons mountain range" and thus realtively high above sea level that is more likely than for lower altitufes (we are just under 1200ft). However, apart from a couple of brief snow flurries on Christmas Eve we have also had above avererage temps and currently it has warmed up to about 10c (50f) again but isn't actually raining at the moment.

    The rain stopped in time for Christmas Eve so we got to watch the Full Moon ... and yes folks a large object's silhoutte with long um, what do call those things, traces was seen but alas the reindeer were flying too fast to see them let alone count 'em. [nothing like being ambitious]

    Record warm weather here too ... very definitely a "Green Christmas". According to grandma's old wives' tales, not a good sign. But then in the ol' days one needed to keep food good through the winter in a root cellar and if it was plus 17 like it was yesterday, the food would rot. Thankfully we now have fridges :-)

    But, but... Buffalo ALWAYS has snow!! How can you not have snow?  I'm flumaxed!!!

    I think that is true for the whole US east coast. Here on the Outer Banks of  North Carolina it is the warmest Christmas in memory.
