I'm using the new Daz Beta 4.9 and sometime in the last update or two I've started having a problem with the Real Short Hair product. The cap doesn't follow the head like the hair does. I've tried to just move the cap after the pose, but it ends up affecting the hair instead of the cap. Has anyone else expereinced this? Any ideas?

I don't know about DS4.9; but I have found that RSH doesn't auto-fit to Michael 7 (or G3M) at all.
I saw this too.
Humm... The models I use them on are G2M based, which is what it's speced out for. I haven't tried it on G3M based models.
What's the best way to go about getting this addressed? Do I submit a Bug Request? A Help Ticket? Or is there a better way?
That was a bug with auto-fitted items in a earlier version of the beta, it has been fixed in the latest version.
Thank's jestmart. The problem is now fixed. That hair is so versatile I hated not being able to use it.
I was still having problems because I had some characters saved as Scene Subsets complete with clothing and hair for convenience. They were probably saved with the bugged settings.
Deleting and reapplying the hair fixed the problem.
[Updated for clarity]
is this the product http://www.daz3d.com/real-short-hair-for-genesis-2-male-s I'll fire an email off to Laticis about this thread.
As an aside, if you enjoy Real Short Hair go get the freebie Really Short Hair from Laticis on Deviantart. It's awesome.
I'm finding myself removing scalp caps on other hairs for closeups and inserting Really Short Hair instead...
Thanks, but there's no need. The hair is working awsomely now. For such a simple looking hair, it offers a lot of value. Probably one of the best hair products I have. The range of morphs is amazing. I'm surprised Laticis doesn't have more products out.
BTW, the hair renders nicely in IRay with the included shaders, but are there IRay shaders out there? I've tried just converting it to an IRay base, but it does slow the engine down to a crawl.
Thanks for this tip. I've headed over and grabbed it. There's a lot of stuff on his site....
I like UHT Hair shader for most transmapped hair, and I like the shaders that come with Unshaven 2 (which is a huge bonus considering the actual facial hair is awesome) for fibermesh-style hair (like Real Short Hair)
It's a bit of scratch, but I've found it MASSIVELY easier to manage realistic hair since.
It's good to read that the issue has been resloved and very awesome to read that it seems to be working okay with M7
The positve comments about the product is awesome as well, thank you :)
Sorry it took a minute to get back to this tread. Holidays....
I am having absolutely no problems with G2M, and it's derived models, but I had not tried it with G3M or Michael 7. For some reason, the autofit does seem to have a problem with RSH. I'll list details below, but I think it's a problem more with Autofit, than RSH. Or, maybe, the way Autofit tries to handle the two, seperate parts: The hair and the cap.
Using G3M, RSH, Daz 4.9.0.54 (latest updates from DIM)
Loaded G3M. Loaded RSH. Selected G2M as base and Hair, Short for autofit.
Hair does not follow the head (Was going to post picture, but just realized that the forum's Image option has changed. When I figure that out I'll try to post a render or two)
Hi Guys :)
Just wanted to let you know I found a way to get the hair fitted to G3Males.
Step 1: with Figure Selected (G3Male) apply - Real Short Hair
Step 2: What figure was the item originally design for? Genesis 2 Male
What type of item is it? Hair - Short Hair
Step 3: This will give you the cap in place which is what we want.
( Really not sure why the fibers haven't followed th cap )
Step 4: In the scene tab, locate: Real Short Hair Cap and expand to select Real Short Hair.
(Right Click) Un-parent Real Short Hair
Step 5: Edit / Object / Transfer Utility
Source: (Select) Genesis 3 male Target: (Select) Real Short Hair
Projection Template: Hair > Short Hair
This should give you message at the end "FHMExpandAll"
Step 6: in the Scene Tab select - Real Short Hair's Hip
then in the Parameters Tab - Translate Y to 1.00
Step 7: with Real Short Hair selected
Under Parameters Tab / Adjustments / FHMExpandAll - scale to about 9%
This is not perfect but it will give you functionality and with the available morphs I am sure you will be able to hide issues :)
Happy Rendering and thank you for supporting my product.
Cheers Adriano
