Working with 3D (and DAZ): One 4K screen or 2 QHD Screen?
Hi,
I'm asking to more experienced users. I'm using actually Daz3D studio and photoshop. Maybe in the (near) future some other solutions (zbrush? Max/maya? cinema4D etc..). Considering the real desk roon available is not a problem, what is the most interesting solution:
- One 40" screen with a 4K resolution
- or two 27" QHD (2560*1440) monitors
In term of cost, it is almost the same (well, the 40" is a bit cheaper, I'm speaking about the philips and/or the iiyama )
The pitch is almost the same, making for both solutions the native resolution readable.
I'm actually using a 27" QHD screen. Please, share your experience ;-)

My next screen is going to be a 34" Ultra Wide QHD, probably the Dell version of this one:

I'd make sure you get something that displays colours well and accurately too. Also contrast.
I went a slightly different route with three 27" monitors, because I wanted to play games on three screens too.
I do most of my graphics work on the central monitor so that's where I spent more - it's an AOC q2770 QHD - the colours are the best I have seen on any monitor I have had.
On the One screen option, I won't go under 40". The 32" and even the 34" have a really tiny pitch. In fact, the 34" is just twice my laptop full HD 17" screen and to work a day long on such tiny things, it is really hard. (Especially with adobe or daz programs wich don't have menu fonts sized like windows one).
So, the question remains open? any though?
I am going to add my comment in here, I use a 40" 4k monitor here at work and I find it fantastic.
For me it is like having four 1080p displays welded together without any seams, because at 40" I can still use every single pixel without having to scale anything. I highly recommend it.
There's a lot to be said for having a second screen that you can rotate into portrait mode. You may not get a lot of use out of that for Daz, but many programs (such as Word or web browsers) are a real delight to use on a tall monitor.
oh you guys are making me drool all over my keyboard
Greetings,
At work I use 3 24" monitors, one rotated into portrait mode, but at home it's a single 27" monitor. I'm with @Szark. It'd take me a few months of not buying ANYTHING at DAZ to afford that...but wow, I'd love to have it. _drool_
My partner'd kill me, I think, though... Gotta get the addiction under control. :)
@DAZ_Rawb Which one do you have?

Hey I am still on a 22" LCD that is 8 years old.
with my actual 27" QHD I feel really tight, and on a 17" full HD it is phhhhh unbearable
My wife has 17" laptop and the is way to small for the ageing eyes.
