Wrinkles displacement maps for M7
in The Commons
Hello everyone,
Going with the season, I'm trying to make a M7 Father Christmas figure. I have one for M6, wich uses Zev0's great aging morphs : http://www.daz3d.com/aging-morphs-2-bundle-hd
Since there is nothing similar for M7, I tried to use Zev0's skin overlays : http://www.daz3d.com/skin-overlay-for-v5-and-m5-skin-sets
Unfortunately, I can't find a way to give M7 a M5 UV map.
Do someone know of a trick to do it ?

Unfortunately, maps made for M5 and M6 UVs won't work with Geneis 3 (M7) figures directly. This is due primarily to Geneis 3 figures using a different UV coordinate system and also the material zones have been reworked. There is a way to use Blender to project Genesis and Genesis 2 maps on to Genesis 3 figures that has been mostly successful with G2F to G3F. No reason I can think of why it wouldn't work for male figures.
I haven't used the process myself, but here is the thread with the tutorial:

The time consuming part of that is prepping the models so the transfer can be done. But once you have the initial set up done, you can save it out for reuse, which considerably cuts down the time to convert a set of textures. In another thread I mentioned that I got the conversion time down to around 5 minutes (can be longer depending on the textures and hardware you have). The process will be the same as it is for G2F to G3F...except jcade hasn't made the 'helper' morph, yet.
Stop press: the G2M to G3M helpers have landed: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/966617/#Comment_966617
Yeah, pretty much posted it as I was saying it wasn't up...
Yeah, you take your eye off that screen for one minute and BAM! ...
