G3M character making

I am making a morph set for G3M, and have been able to make, save and use the Hex based morph I've made for him.  However, using the body morph pack for G3M in making the body morphs I cannot get the dial that I've made specific to his morphed groups to show up to save as a shape preset.

Process:

I've dialed in the morphs I wanted only for his body.  Went to "Create New Property" to make the basic dial, and listed the morph under "Actor/Full Body".  Then I go to Edit, Figure, Rigging, Adjust Rigging to Shape (Since his limbs and torso are elongated a tad).  Made sure that only the body bones are selected in "Bones to Adjust" as well as "Influencing Groups".  Made sure that "Adjust Center Points" and "Adjust End Points" are selected and the "Adjust Orientation" is not and saved.

Then Parameters, Edit Mode, ERC and made sure that only the body morphs are within the list and made sure that only Restore Figure, Apply Control Property are checked and saved it.

Then it was saved as a morph asset using the main dial I've made with the "Create New Property" dial.

The issue comes when I go to save the dialed morph as a Shape Preset for the library.  The dial is not showing up at all in the Properties Tab-anywhere in the list.  I've opened every selection and nada.

Have I missed something?

If you are making a body shape consisting of only dials, you should probably only make a shape preset with those morphs and name that with a _ADD in the filename. Make a copy of that preset and edit it and for the dials in that file change the string [0, 1] to [0,0]. Save that file as a _Remove.  You wouldn't need to make a control, much less erc freeze unless you are doing custom morphs. That extra dial will just bloat the figure with unnecessary controls. I would only use those for custom morphs, jcms and adjusted rigging.

But you can check the dial that you created and see what modifier type it is. You may need to change it to a modifer/shape type for it to be saved in a shape preset.

Also you will need to make sure you save that dial that is created, otherwise you will lose it when you load a new figure.

Still a ways off for me... in the holiday season at my regular gig. Got out of international travel for the rest of the year, but still are putting in late hours while coworkers are vacationing... then I head out on my vacation in two weeks as well.

Well, you have a good time. Happy Holidays and all that. Come back rested and raring to go.  G3M needs you.

  • Thanks for the tip!

I did get it figured out, but not sure how I fixed it.  Eh.  It works.

Been working on his skin set from scratch with an M4 MR that I was given permission to switch over to other models at my discretion.  Started to get it together in Blacksmith 3D along with working the seams.  There are still a few issues to work out around the fingers with the seams as well as texture placement issues on the hands and torso but so far he's coming along well.
