Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male seam issue

I know that this issue has been addressed somewhere but for the life of me I cannot find the discussion here in the forums. I have Slosh's Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male. I have installed it on my Windows laptop and my MAC desktop. The product works fine on the Mac, but I have a seam issue on my Windows laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials and the Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male products countless times (using the DAZ install manager) and I still get the same issue when I open the file in Carrara 8.5 Pro. What am I missing? Why is it working on one platform but not the other? I've even opened one file that was saved on the Mac in the Windows version of Carrara and I dont have that issue. But when I open a file created in DS 4.7 on the windows laptop and open in Carrara, I get the seam issue. I understand there was a fix for this issue but I thought that when I uninstalled and re-installed you would think that I would get the new version.

It sounds as if the UV set is not being applied in Carrara - I assume it's ok in DS itself? Are you using a .duf file? Are the content diectories listed in the same order in Carrara and in DS?
Yeah it's fine in DS, which is why it was a shock to open in Carrara and find that I had seams. And it seems to be the PC version. The MAC version seems to work fine. I even opened my MAC saved Carrara file on my PC and it didnt have the seam issue. What I've been doing is creating the file in DS, saving it as a DUF (standard scene format, right?) and then opening that file in Carrara. It may be the content directory thing. If memory serves I think the PC version of carrara wants to look in a "Studio4" folder for everything instead of just "Studio" like the Mac version. I'll have to boot up my laptop later and see if making sure the UV file is in the Studio4 folder helps. I wish you could tell Carrara what directory to go look for content. I know you can do it on the "Content" tab but would be nice if you could do the same when it opens a file and it doesnt ask where to find things.
I think I may have found the culprit. On both machines (PC & Mac) I have a UV set for M4 at this location:
My library>data>DAZ 3D>Genesis 2>Male>UV Sets>DAZ 3D>Michael 4>Michael 4.dsf (dated 1/27/14)
But on the PC, I also have one here.
My library>data>DAZ 3D>Genesis 2>Male>UV Sets>DAZ 3D>Base>Michael 4.dsf (dated 8/6/11)
I'm not really sure why. I have no idea where it came from. I'm going to move it elsewhere and see if that corrects the problem.
Carrara shouldn't be grabbing a file with the wrong path before one with the right path. After moving the file, try opening the .duf in DS first to make sure it works, then if it does try Carrara. If it now works in both that would look to me like a bug in the way files are retrieved, and should be reported.
Didnt work. I still think Carrara is looking for Studio content along a different path. I'm beginning to wonder if I need to place the needed files in a directory under "Users>Shared" like it is on the Mac. On the PC all the files are under "Users>dthoward64". Seems weird because everything else seems to work fine on both platform. I did notice in the DUF that the file path that was listed at the top of the file was different than where the file was actually located. Both the Mac and the PC version show the same file path of "/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%202/Male/UV%20Sets/Slosh/Michael%204/Michael%204.dsf". But the file is actually located in the DAZ 3D folder under UV Sets and not Slosh. Could that be an issue?
It sounds as if you have the file elsewhere - it isn't in the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\My DAZ 3D Library folder on Windows?
I tried putting it there and I still have the same issue. Doesnt make sense. The Victoria 4 version has no issues. And it's in the same directory (Users\dthoward64) as the M4 version. Why should one work and the other doesnt?
I was thinking there might already be an older version in that location which was being found before the correct version that DS is finding. When you unisntalled did you make sure that the file was not left behind in one or more content directories?
Finally solved it. I deleted all the files that were in the DazTmp folder. Also got rid of any Studio libraries other than the one in "User/dthoward64". Seems to have solved the issue. I think it odd that even though I renamed the old "Studio4" folder that Carrara still looked for content there. Even though it wasnt mapped to it. Hopefully this fix holds.
