Need help with editing a G2M figure

I am using the Battle Orc as a model to basically make the same figure using the G2M and creature creator. So fat it isn't easy. The reason I am using G2M base instead of the Battle Orc base is because G2M offers more things I can add to the creature and I have more options to adjust the face as the creature I am creating is not really an orc. My issues so far:
1. The skin. How do I change the base color of the G2M skin color to grey instead of flesh? I have tried changing all of the settings in the surfaces color to grey but there is still a heavy flesh color undertone. I tried using the rock shaders but that does some wierd things to the actual shape of the figure when I render it.
2. I like the look of the face on the battle orc, but I am having trouble re-creating that face in the G2M creature settings.... any ideas?
That is it for now. I will see if I can get those two things fixed for now.....
Thanks in advance!

3DL or Iray?
Is this the Battle Orc?

If so, he's already a G2M item and any G2M creature morphs would be added on to the base. Another plus, you would have his textures...
That said, your problem with the color is the SSS shader set up...if you are just adjusting the base diffuse color and leaving SSS on, you are still going to end up with a red blooded creature (red/pink flesh undertones). That's for the 3Delight...for Iray it's similar, but different settings will need to be tweaked.
The battle orc is a G2M figure, so not sure what you are trying to do. Basically you can dial in the battle orc morph and then add any G2M extras you want as you go.
As for the skin, you best bet is to load the skin that comes with the orc into photoshop or guimp and edit it there, as long as it is for personal use.
I'm confused as to exactly what you are trying to do.
Battle orc is a morph of G2M you can dial in as much or as little of him as you like. The skin can be used on G2M what ever morph you have dialed in.
Hmm ok. It seems like there are less options available when I look for different options like in the creature creator for the Battle Orc than when I do with the G2M. I will have to check again.
FYI, this is all for basically personal use in the gaming group I run. I am developing the figures for the party members. The Battle Orc is being used to represent a Gryx (character race) so I need to make some tweaks.
My next issue is with hair for the Battle Orc. I have been trying to find something where I can adjust it so only the sides show. and is short. Basically I need the top of the head to be mostly if not completely bald. As the Gryx do not grow hair on the top of thier hair.
I believe it is in 3DL
Keep in mind that none of the figures/mesh can be shared, against the EULA. You can make any morph adjustments and then share the morphs as long as the other members have the same base mesh (G2M, creature creator and the battle Orc).
As for the creation, the battle orc is a specific morph, so there will be less options to change anything than what you get with the creature creator since it was developed that way.Think of it this way, base G2M with no sliders to change anything, creature creator with multiple sliders to change all types of things to create many different creatures, battle orc addon with one slider to change G2M into a battle orc, hope tjhat makes some sense.
As for hair, you best bet might be to get Look At my hair (LAMH) or garibaldi and create you own.
As to wanting grey skin. Open up the texture file in a raster image editor, save it under a different name, and reduce saturation. You can take it all the way to greyscale if you want to.
Back in studio, apply the modified texture and adjust with diffuse, and various other settings.
Don't worry there is no breach against the EULA. No one else is using DAZ or any other computer program for that matter because this is for a table top RPG. Basically I am creating minis for my games and they are printed out on card stock then used on a table. One day I may be able to purchase a decent 3d printer and possibly even 3d print my own minis... That is my ultimate goal but I am a long way off.
I have Xara photo and graphic designer. I have thought about going in and editing some things like you say but I am just a beginner and it takes time to even get decent enough at DAZ.
A new problem I am having now with the Battle Orc is that I have a pair of pants that look fine on him but when I render a pose there is a lot of poke throughs on the pants. I tried loosening the pants as per the sliders but that only helps a little and if I push it to far (remove the limits) it messes up the fit somewhere else.
You can turn parts of the Orc off with the "EYE" icon in the Scene tab or the Opacity Strength slider in the Surfaces (Color) tab.
Those are the easiest ways to cope with poke through if they don't also hide bits you need showing.
Yeah, I should have thought of that.... thanks!
If the poke through is only showing after rendering its most likely the Displacment turn it down or off ffor the legs in the surfaces tab.
I first tried adjusting displacement then I tried turning it off and nothing worked. In the end I had to hide the Battle Orc thighs and open the waist untilt it rendered correctly. After that some weird things happened. WHen I rendered it for some reason much of the clothing was gone, like the pants and the cloak. I deleted then reapplied the cloak and everything worked fine then. Odd problems.
