Period Clothing

I see clothing for various historical periods, but one I haven't seen anything for is for Colonial America. It would be nice to see something for that period. My ancestry goes back to that era and I would like to see some things for that time period. Is there anything already in here that I'm just not finding or does anyone know where I can get something like this? I've looked everywhere and seem to be coming up with a big zero.

Do you have any examples of what you are looking for?, as Colonial America is quite a long period, where many styles would have been gone through. I would image the type of clothing worn in the east coast cities like NY and Boston would not have been that much different from what their European contemporaries would have been wearing. There are already various cowboy outfits for some of the wilder areas in the west, though I am not sure there is the type of outfit that classic pictures show Davy Crockett wearing.

Edit: Now I remember my history right, Davy Crockett is naturally post colonial.

There are some pieces here and there, but you'll probably have to kit bash to get exactly what you want.  Luthabel's Corsair here at DAZ http://www.daz3d.com/corsair-for-m5-and-genesis is a great resource.  Wilma's free offerings include a number of period outfits including Pilgrims and womens dresses that work in that period, Adh3d and Renapd have revolutionary war/Napoleonic war soldier univforms for M4 and Apollo at Renderosity, and Vanishing Point has a British officers Uniform.

    I second this!

Thanks for some ideas. I'll check these out. Havos, the cowboys are a much later period, in the 1800s. I'm looking for something like the 1690s in the New England area. The west had not yet been explored. I've found periods such as Elizabethan, Edwardian, Victorian, French Provincial, Old West, various historic periods, but so far, I really haven't seen anything from the 1600s America. Maybe this will give some artists ideas for some new clothing styles. Even Amish clothing would work to some degree.

There are some Georgian outfits, which are a bit closer, but still not right. And most of them are for gen4, although I think there may be a couple for gen 5 or 6. Esha has a rather nice cavalier-inspired couple of outfits over on RDNA (who are having their annual sale) but again, it's for gen4.

Most of the period clothing that is available is for the upper classes in society, officers suits, fine ladies dresses etc. Clothing for ordinary people like shown in Chohole's picture are much more difficult to find.

But easier to fake. The ladies' outfit could almost be done from the MFD if you could find proper headwear. And a set of sleeves.

Although, for men's clothing, if knee-breeches are acceptable, grab Sickleyeild's Doomed Poet outfit. It's for Genesis 1 and it takes a LOT of abuse. There's only the shirt and breeches, shoes and socks. But they are the *right* shirt and breeches, shoes and socks.
