Male/female bundles

I saw the "It's a gift for you! We made the bundle discount too big, but we're going to honor it anyway" blurb for Zev0's ShapeShift buundle. Well, for us "early adopters" types, it's not a "gift", it's a punishment, a troment, a "you jerk, you shouldn't have bought Shapeshift for females back when it first came out." Those male/female bundles have always frustrated me, but I guess that little "gift" was the straw that made me speak out. We've heard from many PAs and from DAZ themselves that the early sales make up the bulk of a product's profits. So, a marketing strategy that makes people regret early purchases hurts everyone: merchants, customers, and DAZ.

Now, I love Zev0 stuff. I have exactly half of it (23 out of 56 items in his store, acording to the "hide items you already own" thingy, but a big chunk odf what I don't have is bundles. I have almost all the actual "stuff"). But his bundles frustrate the heck out of me, because they're almost always bundling the male shape shift, fit control, growing up, aging, etc. etc. with the female, and I've always bought the female version of these things when they came out, hot on the tail of DAZ releasing a new generation of figures (because Zev0 is quick and good), six months to a year before DAZ releases the male figure for that generation.

So, what good are the bundles? How many people don't already have the female versions by the time the male comes out? How many are rethinking being an early adopter because of the bundle that they know will be coming out in 6-12 months? How many get so ticked off over this that they skip the male item when it does come out?

Time for something different, DAZ. How about a simple "extra 20% off on shape shifter, fit control, dental plan for males if you already own the version for females", something that doesn't make the coveted early adopters feel insulted.

    I highly doubt that most people purchase based solely on what bundles exists, or will exists six months from now, and the sale of the moment, or even get all bent out of shape over them.

    It is a gift in this case. That discount was given to people who had bought the female version, not to everybody....

    Yes to clarify any confusion, only those who bought the female version got that discount message. The whole aim of this discount was so early adopters wouldn't be punished by paying more compared to those who just waited and got the bundle.

    Added the bundle to my cart, and it showed up there with a nice discount, thanks.

    But I wouldn't have known to do that without messages that were precipitated by this thread. I think reading the confusing "Happy Holidays" message cleared the messages foag, so I never knew to look for the "For a Limited Time Save BIG!" message that I needed to see. ;)
