2GB 630 video card upgrade

Hi, to make a long story short.  I have a Nvidia Geforce 2GB 630 card - 96 cuda cores.  Which surprisingly does very well with Aux view Iray real time preview.  Have a overclocked 5.0 Ghz 8 core AMD cpu, 16GB ram.  CPU only renders quite fast for my 3D production.

Last week called a local computer store, whom had a 4GB 970 video card priced at $250, store was out of stock.  I called em this morning, store had one left, kick price back up to $369 !

Was wondering if anyone can assist in upgrading my 630 card, approx $100 - $250 price range.  Thanks.

The only ones I would know of at that price point is the Nvidia 700 series cards mainly the 750 GTX as they are still being made of which I was going to get when my 570 GTX died but a very cool friend gave me his near new 2 gig 650GTX TI card instead.. :)

But if you are lucky you might be able to score a 4 gig 960GTX for a reasonable price..

I purchased a GTX 750 TI from newegg for about $120.00. It has 2gb memory and 640 cuda cores. Works well for a reasonable price.

Thanks friends, lookin at the Gigabyte 4GB GTX 750 TI for $149, local stores only carry 970's for gamers, great !  Guess I'll have to order.

  • I get all my Computer parts from Micro Center. You can get open box discounts and referbushed parts too.

I live in the Houston area and they have a store here so I just order online and go pick it up but they ship too and you can check the list to see if one is in your area but if not. Just order online.

You can select different citys at the top to see what is in stock in that store.

Im using the Nvidia 560 GTX Ti that is actually the Nvidia brand and not something from EVGA or Gigabyte and only paid 100 dollars for it about two years ago from this store but plan to upgrade like you are doing.
