Metal arms?

Anyone know where I could find to create metal arms for Genesis 2 Male something to the same effect as X-Men's Cable ?

Possibly the closest I've seen are Dario Fish's "More than Human" products at Renderosity. I don't know how well those "bulk up" if you make the base figure more muscular.

At DAZ, Parris has some products that let you swap individual body parts for robotic ones, but only female ones are available for Genesis 2. The MAG2 Robotic Arm figure is more Imperator Furiosa than Cable, so it may not be quite what you want.

You might be able to get the effect that you want by simply texturing one (or more) limbs: apply a metal texture and a bump map as appropriate. If you use Iray, Mec4D's PBS Shaders contain some good metal finishes, plus the ability to add a 'surface pattern'.

Easy way...use a geoshell, set everything invisible, except the arm you want metallic...apply a metallic shader to it.

More complicated way...edit the texture map in an image editor and use the altered texture.

Select figure/prop and then Create> New Geometry shell

Under the Create menu there is Create Geometry Shell.  Make sure you have the desired figure selected in the Scene tab, then create the shell.

Then you will find the shell parented to the figure it was created on.  On the Parameters for the shell you will have a bunch of on/off buttons...leave the surfaces on (unless you know you won't be needing them) and turn off the individual parts...then with the shell selected (and the surface you want) apply your metal shader.
