I was searching a users threads on my iPad when the DAZ site suddenly popped up a request to prove I am not a bot

I don't want to say who's threads I was scrolling through but the content made me uncomfortable hence my scrolling through it so getting this bot popup has me nervous

    happening everywhere so long as daz don't pull a facebook and have you/us give them access to your/our computers/phones webcams wanting to film a live video of your face from different angles and give them rights to video

    I just came here on my desktop and it ran the same security verification 

    but without the ticking the box saying I am not a bot

    maybe I browse here too often blush

    It is my understanding that checking the box isn't how it verifies you are not a bot. Maybe it's determined you move your mouse more like a human than a bot. And the checkbox is just a ploy to get you to move the mouse. This has happened to me on other sites.

    what I want to know is if it's happening to other forum users because I haven't seen any posts about it.

    I searched first before creating this thread.

    I have 40K+ posts but funny enough, 37K of them were made 7+ years ago

    so while I am a prolific poster, I am nowhere near as prolific as I used to be

    most of the people I used to interact with daily on the forum are no longer here, moved on or passed away broken heart

    I am posting even less this year than before but I do visit here a lot, constantly using Google search here and Renderosity where I don't post much at all.

    It my knowledge base for my 3D hobby I spend a lot of time on.

    It's not DAZ but cloudflare doing that. And similar cloud services. For my some sites won't let me connect unless I'm using a VPN, others won't when II'm using a VPN, and still others will  let soome VPNs oon, but not others. SMH

    yeah not here yet for me but elsewhere yeah gets a bit funny if your active on a site or not that active yeah that sounds weird I know but has been the case with me on some places even just scrolling or reading articles

    You might have triggered a bot check as an automated site response.  These are often in place on websites that carry files that might attract a 'site rip' or software piracy attempt.  Scrolling through too many files in a relatively short time can imitate automated download attempts.

    What if one is actually a bot who thinks they are human?... but like you kinda suspect you might be a bot because you're made out of metal instead of meat and you've been in denial the whole time... this could be very upsetting that a stupid verification box is asking you decide your loyalty or true compositional makeup... and why? Are bots not allowed the pleasure of reading enjoyable forum posts...? Who are the real bots if this is the case?... the mechanical monstrosities minding their own business plotting the downfall of mankind, or the closed minded meat blobs judging the mechanical monstrosities?

    my toilet is blocked so definitely not a bot

    bots don't poop devil

    just rang the water as my main sewer line inspection point filled to ground level so under the street

    if I were a bot, I could snake a whirling bladed appendage down there myself cheeky

    What happens if you fail the bot test?

    Is there a sudden glitch in your matrix and you suddenly find you can clear sewers but don't need them?

    Wendy: put a dam around your inspection hatch. We have one in our garden that occasionally backs up and overflows toilet paper & worse into our garden. It doesn't help being the lowest point above a regular blockage point.

    A lot of sites that use Cloadflare have that system, but it's usually at log in that you see it, maybe Daz are trying out the system in some regions, and you got hit with a bit of stray code.

    ...I don't mind the Clousflare check boxes, one click and you are good to go.  The ones I hate are those Captha ones that make you solve a photo puzzle.  After you are done it often throws another (and sometimes another) at you even if you correctly solve it.

    Are you good at chess? Usually a sign you are a bot. Ya' know you could be an organo-bot. Made to simulate humans. I remember meeting one when I was on Caprica.wink
