"PICK-N-GRAB" not valid when adding a newly mad release to cart.

  • ElorElor Posts: 3,450

@JDOR : the coupon is not needed from what I saw when used with a new/newish release.

You don't need a coupon with New or Still, but with New and coupon, there is an additional discount.

(Please forgive me, cuz I get easily confused with the sales, so think I said it right.)

I get confused when discounts stack on discounts, buy yeah, the Today's Special wording implies the coupon should add a further 30% discount to the mad artist items if you have a new or still item, but when used it just says its not valid.

I applied the coupon with no new or still in the cart and the coupon was valid and applied. I put a still new in the cart and it stayed the same. I put a debut new in and the additional discount applied.

I don't know if you're telling me the code is working or not?

All I know is I took the new and still items out the cart to experiment to no success, and upon readding them in, the total cost of the cart is now more expensive than it was when I started. So I give up, I'll keep my money.

The code is working. What I said was that I applied the coupons first and then added the new item.

I tried that. The new item removed the coupon and now my cart is more expensive than when I started.

    Yep, same for me.

Oh, I see where I went wrong. I hadn't noticed that the coupon was removed when I put in the new item. Simply putting in the new item gives the lower discount than the coupon. Sorry about that.

  • ElorElor Posts: 3,450

The coupon is removed, but the 30% discount is still there: you can check that with a Still New release and the price of the items discounted by the coupon should stay the same.

With a new release, it's working too: I had a 2.55 item in my cart, its price went down to 1.28, so the 50% discount applied on top of the 30% discount from the offer.

The newly mad category states that you get "an extra 30% off with a golden star". and golden stars are supposed to give you 30% off your cart.

Which means that with a golden star, you should have on newly mad items: 30% (standard new discount) + 30% (golden star for newly mad) + 30% (golden star on cart)= ~65% off

Yet, you only get 51% on newly mad assets (probably 30% new + one of the 30% golden star discounts)

I do not know if this is correct (in which case the wording on newly mad category should be clarified) or if this is incorrect and should be fixed.

The coupon is for a limited number of Mad Artist items with no Newly Mad, with Newly mad the coupon is not needed.

We don't have an oficial response, but I think this is just reiterating the basic 30% off the cart - like the on-sit ("whatever colour banner") messages they sometimes send that just repeat the offer from the promo page.

I think whoever writes the blurbs for the various sales needs to learn how to do their job better. Sorry if that seems insulting. It's an honest criticism.

Happens far too often that the actual sale relies on some convoluted meaning that makes no sense to the average customer. And sometimes even when you have it explained to you the "sale" seems weird.

Near as I can figure PICK-N-GRAB gives you an extra 30% off "up to 10" Mad Artist items. Adding a Still Mad seems to give you the ability to get that extra 30% off unlimited items. (I didn't actually try adding 11 items to check because I don't care about such a limited use case). If you have a Newly Mad in your cart you get an extra 50% off of Mad Artist items and don't get any benefit from the coupon so it is removed automatically. Which is a good thing I guess.

BUT why even mention Newly Mad in the sale blurb and muddy the waters?

I have a gold star (purchased every day of the sale), have input the coupon code, but every selection from Mad Door Prizes carts as $2.99 rather than the stated $1.99. It was working last night.

    Tokens Issue:

The tokens earned function was working fine earlier in the week, but this morning it was not working properly, and it is still not working properly.

    For Base Members...
Daz Base: Earn 1 Token for every $15 spent
    https://www.daz3d.com/daz-tokens

Today, I tried adding $15 to my cart... It should be 1 Tokens earned, but 0 is showing.
Then, I tried adding $30 to my cart... It should be 2 Tokens earned, but only 1 is showing.

Today, $16 triggers 1 token, and $31 triggers 2 tokens

Someone at Daz must have changed the math function in the Cart, and it is no longer working correctly... Please fix... Thanks!

Trying to understand the new math here,

I add Match Point Tennis Poses and Props for Genesis 9 and Genesis 8 - a $24.99 item currently 60% off to the  cart; I have a Gold Star; so $24.99 * .6 = $14.99 leaves $10; $10 * .3 = $3.00, result is $7.00 in the cart. I then add any newly mad release, which should give me an additional 50% off the artist store item. $7.00 * .5 = $3.50; final price is $3.50. But it shows $2.45 in the cart. There's an additional 30% discount coming from somewhere (no, I have NOT used the PICK-N-GRAB code). Final result is actually 90% off original price.

The newly mad item shows a 51% discount - which is correct; the initial 30% and my Gold Star 30%.

The tokens are working properly. You you need $15 before the tax. Your first cart is only $14.32, the rest is tax which means 0 tokens. Your second cart is $28.34 which means 1 token.

The PICK-N-GRAB code is to get the extra 30% off without a newly made item, the discount applies automatically when you have one in the cart.

I was thinking that had to be it - just wasn't sure if it was PICK-N-GRAB or  a mistake on Daz's part.

  • The “Star Discounts” could do with some more clarity.

    STAR DISCOUNTS
Apply to Your Entire Order [⭐️ note the wording here]

    Silver Star
Gets you an extra 10% off

    Gold Star
Gets you an extra 30% off

Discount excludes Gift Cards, Memberships, and Licenses. [⭐️ note the wording here]
Gift Card purchases do not earn Stars.
Star discounts apply day after purchase.

It doesn’t mention anything about excluding Outlet, Quick Grab, or Mad Door Prizes. But I guess this is the usual Daz lack of clarity in communication and that it has an unstated exclusion in that it also will not apply to any item that has a “floor” discount applied to it. (Unlike yesterday’s Outlet sale which did go below the “floor” price for items.)

Thank you @joanna for answering my Tokens question! :-)

Do you happen to know if there's a place to look to see how many "Shooting Stars" one currently has?

    You're welcome.

Do you happen to know if there's a place to look to see how many "Shooting Stars" one currently has?

You either put a full price item in the cart and see if you get 10% or 30%, or you can look under your "orders" and count orders you've made in the last three days (orders made on the same day count as one!). 1 order = silver star. 2 order = gold star. Every day, you look just at the last three days, so if you don't purchase daily, it's going to cycle.

Those are the two that come to mind. Maybe someone else has other tips.
