DAZ House Cat expressions

I'm in the process of making a render with the DAZ House Cat making a smirking expression like this emoji. While the House Cat has some decent expressions as standard, they're nowhere near as flexible as the ones for human characters. I've tried D-Formers and Mesh Grabber to no avail. Any other suggestions besides one for a new product?

In my attempts with the House Cat I have found the ears are a surprising conveyor of emotion.

My avatar cat could convey utter contempt with an ear flick and a huff. Nothing more needed. And when he was stupid enough to sit on the lawn while it rained, a full body hunch, ears out flat and a sweary mrrroww! was enough to indicate how much he hated us, the world in general and rain in particular.

when adding morphs to expression editor in iClone 3DXchange for cats and other animals I use ear movements for the eyebrows as that's how animals use them

2nd this. I remember an article in National Geographic online magazine about cats' expressions and what they were saying and those ears say a lot. Watching my two gingers play, watch, fight, entice, and interact with me I can attest to this. The ears are more important that that mouth, except when it is grabbing your body part to enforce its warning you ignored from its ears.

  • Some of them look pretty good TBH.

Don't forget that besides grabbing / moving, you also can rotate cat's eyes, cheeks, brows as well as mouth corners / lips with Mesh Grabber ~~ kinda like what I roughly made it as one of the emojis ~~

Edit: Then save a morph for it ~
