had a dream about my Indie last night.  he passed away November 2005.

he was waiting for me to come home, when he saw me looking at him he was happy to see me. my bubby. i was so happy to see him too.

Who was Indie?.... I'm sorry to hear he passed away... I must of missed that.    Before I proceed... I'm not trying to be funny... But I'm guessing, Indie as in Indiana... Named after Professor Jones's childhood pet... So probably a pooch?... I hope it's not your grandfather and this is really sounding insensitive...  If I am way off the mark, please forgive me... But if it is a pet, cat or dog or even giant panda, I think we often form special bonds with our pets... Even after they pass away, they never leave us entirely... It's been almost 16 years and I still dream about my dog, he was alway there besides me... Best friend and shadow... We had many adventures together and never once did he run in the face of danger... When he passed away I missed him so much... I sorta believe that in life, souls we are close to never really leave us if the bond is strong enough... And that one day I'd find him again... I never got another dog yet because I've never felt that connection... Maybe one day. But until that day, I think he sneaks into my dreams every now and then... We are climbing mountains, driving cross country in my old Catalina or riding in a fast boat, he is young and happy and healthy again... I think it's him, and he's still there letting me know he stopped by and has not forgotten and that one day he'll be back.  I'm sure your Indie was probably just visiting you to let you know he's still there too...

And if that is way off, sorry... Just write it off as another one of my stupid statements.

i named the dog indiana.  :)  first name that came to my mind.  saw him at the North Shore Animal League.  they had him sharing a kennel with a mommy dog, supposedly cuz he was a fraidy dog, he was about 8 mos old and trembling with terror.  haven't met a dog yet who is afraid of me, so took him home.  my landlady freaked, i had to move into a dog friendly place.  found a nice upstairs in Deer Park.  can't believe is 10 years.  he's waiting for me on the other side.  he's curled up on a sofa waiting patiently.

i wouldn't be surprised if my Bubby Brendan went to another family.  haven't had any dreams that he's waiting for me. he passed away 2 years ago this December.  still find his hairs on my clothes.

    Good morning all! smiley

Woke up early and got breakfast at Whataburger (scrambled eggs, biscuit, bacon, and hash browns with a coffee), then shopped for soup and stew to eat for lunch at the office.  Next up, time to get cleaned up and dressed and head out for wings and football! laugh

In Tulsa, I could barely walk anywhere - no sidewalks so it was in the treacherous grass or on the road, neither of which was good for my poor feet.  Here, I can walk all over the place, and while it's taking some getting used to again I already feel healthier!  When i lived here before I'd wlk a couple of miles na dy, and about 4-5 over the weekend!

Wlking is important for me - helps keep the blood sugar down and my circulation up, very important for anyone with diabetic foot issues.  plus it helps me lose weight, another importqnt thing.

Wherever I end up moving to for a long-term place, it's going to be near a bus stop so I can get to all the parks and fun places.

I did discover it's *possible* to get a drivers license with only one functuonal eye if it's 20/70 with glasses.  I'm nt sure I'm that good, but it might be worth gettng tested to see.  I'd likely not on a car but get one of those suer-cute gas scooters to putter around in when the weather's good.  Trouts on wheels!  Otherwise, I'm going to save for an electric bicycle.. I used to have one, and man, are they a blast!  No insurance or license required, but they only go 35mph.. although that would esily get me from the light rail station to work...

Well, time to wash up and prepare!  Looking forwrd to some good games today!!

Everyone have a great <enter yout time here>!

Testing robo cars on the freeways here right now so maybe the car will need a license. instead of you down the track, age of miracles hey :)

I wanna see them try that out here in the New York Tri-state area... I'd get a big bowl of popcorn, a beer and watch it all unfold.

Boston would be better.  NY drivers are rude, but they aren't suicidally insane.

I drove in Boston once, on a business trip.  Been there, done that, still under therapy.

Again and again... He has trouble controlling his autogyrocycle, so it's not actually repeated assaults, just a really bad landing... But that is one mean pimply alexandertorte hating armadillo.

I'ved lived all over this town, off and on, for nearly 5 years now and I have *never* seen a live armadillo. I don't think they can make it downtown over all the roads..

Did you know that humans and armadillos are the only animals that host the leprosy bacteria? surprise

I hosted a leprosy bacteria party a few years ago... It wasn't much fun.

Must have been a rotten time...!

When the guests found out what the party was for they freaked out and went all to pieces.

they feed chili to the armadillos?   they must be happy dillos :D

Eeee....yooooo.... I'm picturing dozens of well fed armadillos with loose bowel movements...  Racing and pooping.... Sliding and slipping.... Pooping and running... Not a pretty vision... Or worse yet, is it actual armadillo chili?.... With armadillo in it... I suppose if it were "Leprosy Free" armadillo, it might not be bad...

Rats...now I feel guilty... I feel the need to have to mention that Leprosy is not at all a funny disease... Even armadillo leprosy... Okay maybe a little when its armadillos...     Every year my wife makes me go to her dermatologist for a full exam to see if any of my moles or freckles, or scars are growing tentacles or something... The dermatologist has zero sense of humor, like none... Zilch... I believe it was either surgically removed or she took a hard fall as a child and it was dislodged and it flew off behind a cupboard or radiator and no no ever found it.... But inevitably, every year I end up making a leprosy joke and she reminds me she used to work at a lepertorium... Uh... Leper colony? In Hawaii and that its really a terrible disease and it's actually called Hanson's disease... At which point I'm tempted to make a Hanson brothers joke, but I usually don't go there... but one of these days I'm gonna make that lady smirk... I don't even expect a chuckle, just one corner of the mouth slightly curled in what is not a sneer or snarl, would be a huge achievement... Seriously, she must be Vulcan or something, I can make a lot of people snicker at least once... But not her... It's a personal challenge...  Well, whatever... I just felt the need to atone for my leprosy comments...  Except the armadillos with leprosy, I think that's still okay.

Hmmm..., a dermatologist with a tough skin!  surprise

So are the armadillos.  Most of them just curl up into balls and refuse to uncurl, much less run.  The racing armadillos aren't put in the chili.  The chili is very good.

curling up into a ball makes perfect sense, should have thought of that this morning would have had a better time.
