Figure generation ID in Smart Content

In the Smart Content tab, names and pictures are one thing. How about adding a number to the lower right corner of the icon that indicates the figure's generation? A G1 or G3 would come in handy, or if not that, then an option to sort figures by generation?

  • In general product files will be, at least recently, tagged with the figure theya re for (though the hair I looked at to check, for Genesis 8, 8.1, and 9, was tagged for 8/8.1 on all files - even the Genesis 9 ones). A new group could be used, like the "New" group, but files/products may belong to only one group so anyone wanting to use that would have to forego adding content to the New group on installation.

    How is this handled?

I don't think I have ever seen a product with such.

I usually have the info box open so I can see the file path.

Strangefate and Roguey have both the figure named in the filename and 8F/8M/9 written on the thumbnails:

(On top of that, they are also making extansive use of .djl files so Smart Content is not crumbling under duplicated Mat. files)

HavanaLibere usually has at least one of the pose with the name of a figure in the filename:

    https://docs.daz3d.com/public/read_me/index/113691/file_list

Off the top of my head, PAs like Prefox, Sue Yee, Zeddicuss also have the figure in the filename, and likely other I'm forgetting.

If I'm not mistaken, DS 2026 should have or will have the Filtered by Context checkbox also active when we have a product opened which would be very useful. In the meantime, like you, I have the Info box opened to see for which figure a prop/pose/clothing item/etc is when they have the same name and same icon.

    Then I misunderstood.

I thought it was something Daz had done with an overlay.

Tags (keywords) are in the same group of tabs at the bottom of the pane as info, they don't provide a visual marker but can be used for fltering.

    Groups are covered here https://docs.daz3d.com/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/smart_content/products_page/results_view/start#group
