I have found out how to change the content but not where I save the pictures I complete

where do I change the scene pictures I create to another place.  I want to save my pictures on my larger drive, but can not find out how to do that

If you're talking about where it saves your rendered pictures, look under Render Settings > General > Image Path

    render_settings_general.PNG
    437 x 627 - 35K

Thank you, that was going to be my second question, the first one was changing where it stored the raw pictures (the DUF) pictures before you render them

  • You can save them anywhere you want. It opens the standard Windows File Save dialog when you hit save the first time. Change the directory then.

I think it always creates the duf.png thumbnails automatically, so they're side by side with the duf file, with no way to disable this behavior. (other folks: let me know if I'm wrong!)

There are many use cases where it's important to have the preview image, so it's a useful feature usually. All the thumbnails you see when digging around in Content Library are those same generated filename.duf.png files. Personally I would love a setting in the save dialogue to save my scenes without a thumbnail, to clean up my project directories.

I prefer other options such as save the thumbnail you wish like iClone6 can

(as high as I own, assume later versions do it too)

or untick thumbnail option as one can in Carrara

(which is only visible in Carrara content directory in Carrara itself anyway)

of course you can replace the duf and tip png images with a nice quality render

Thanks for the tip. I sometimes fumble around and find the correct way to change the settings.

    But I forget a lot.

Edit>Preferences>Content tab see the Thumbnail Saving options. There used not to be a choice, but those options have been there for a while now.
